I receiverd the draft from this book from the author. The book contains 4 short stories, playing in the realm of his other book "Song of the Fallen" from the God Slayer Chronicles and is filled with magic, Darkness and Light. You do not have to read Song of the fallen to read this collection of short stories.

R.A. Casias had a very good writing style which pulled me into the first story straight away. He describes surroundings in a very "coming to life" way and I love that he has such a strong world building.

All stories are written in first person, which makes it easier to understand the characters and get the clue of the story.

The books have a nice message: Light is always stronger than darkness and comes from within, sometimes with a little faith, in this case from the Gods. "True peace can only be found from within by quieting the storms that rage inside the heart". Every story contains some of this matter. Light can not exist without darkness and vice versa. They Balance eachother.

I love the first story the most, by far. i won't spoil what the stories are about, but the first story was just written out the best. Every next story was nice but the message in the story was kindof the same so it sometime felt a little unnecassery to read them, even though the story was nice.

I also love that Casias brought the word Tapestry from the title back in every short story, making these stories align in context and meaning. It's a very subtle way to bring everything together.

I sometimes found that some parts were very fast paced and could have more detail. I also was a little bothered by the last story bacause one of the names was spelled differently every single time (Disclaimer: I received a draft so this might have been fixed in the book itself)

It was not my best fantasy story but it was definately worthwhile. Casias is and amazing writer and I am very interested in song of the fallen.

I do not know the exact age this books is meant for but it gave me Young Adult vibes. So if you like Fantasy, magic, Gods and Young Adult books, go on and read this book. It won't disappoint you
