In the final story of the Dragonchoice trilogy, the riders and dragons of Madellon Weyr face their most arduous challenges yet as Pern is rocked by events that will change the world forever - past, present, and future...
Dragonchoice: Weyrleader of Pern can be found at the author's website DragonChoice, Archive Of Our Own, or FanFiction.
First of all this book is sooo long compared to the first two books in the trilogy. I think it’s over five times the length of the second one, and the second one was half again longer than the first. Secondly the premise is painful. It basically takes Pern and dives into an AU that is extremely distopian. It finally gets hopeful at the very end, but holy cow the sheer collateral damage along the way is monstrous. Every time you think something good is happening it is immediately undone and followed by something sad, bad or disastrous. This is G.R.R. Martin levels of depressing!
I persevered and finished it, but I will never put myself through this again.
