The Governor's Wife: A gripping political thriller that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, gasping at the twists and turns as the pages unfold…
The way this went From An Assassination attempt to A Happily ever after. That's On 2 different Ends of the spectrum. This book was written to keep you captivated throughout the reading. The way that Samantha's Family was all in about keeping HER SAFE. Great STORY....... Yes SHE did it AGAIN,
Gripping from the very beginning! The book had me engaged from the start. It appeared the book would be more about the governor, but I was wrong in the end. It did seem to slow a bit in the middle, but the storyline held my attention nonetheless.
Tanisha gurl…… You barely gave me a chance to get into the story good, before all hell broke loose! Damn Broderick, that was a tough break for you! He had already been coerced into taking the job in the first place, and then for it all go to ish! Whew! 🤯
Miss Samantha, tsk, tsk, tsk! You see where ignoring your gut, and the damn red flags gets ya? She knew Jeffrey didn’t love her, but she wanted better for her life, and thought that a rich white man would take her where she wanted to go. Well, he took you somewhere alright!! Mmm… Hmm…….
That Jeffrey was an evil, calculating, menacing, abusive, the list could go on and on! He deserved exactly what he got too! Ughhh…. 😤🤬
Now, this thang did not go at all like I thought it would. The twists, turns, revelations, and secrets that were popping up like jiffy pop, had my head on a constant swivel, bout to break my fingers turning those kindle pages! I loved the chess moves that were going on, and just when it seemed one person was getting the upper hand, something else appeared to tip the scales. Damn this was a great read! Digging into your catalog now ma’am! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

My Thoughts:
'The Governor's Wife' was a good read with mystery, thriller, and suspense. It was exciting to see how a person who was running for political office is in such a mess that involves him having someone killed. But the funny thing about this was someone knew of this man's doings. I felt somewhat sorry for Samantha because she had to tell me after a while that her slick husband, Jeffrey, didn't love her. But, oh well...he was not only rich but 'evil, abusive, murder, drama, calculating,' and you could go on naming other things that fit him to a t.
Be ready for the twists and turns when the story starts to unravel. You will keep turning the pages to see how this story ends. Who will be alive when it's all said and done? This is where you must pick up this story to see how well this author brings it all together for the reader and see whether there will be another love interest for another particular two?
Tanisha Stewart does it again with a gripping, pulse-pounding story that pulls you in from the very first page. Samantha, the polished and admired wife of the Governor, appears to be living a dream life—yet behind closed doors she is trapped with a man whose public charm masks a terrifying darkness. When Broderick, a disciplined ex-Marine, is hired to assassinate her, their paths collide in a way neither of them could have imagined. What should have been a clean mission unravels into a chain of explosive twists that will leave readers racing to keep up.
Stewart masterfully spins a tale filled with deception, betrayal, justice, and the undeniable power of resilience. Every character is layered, every secret is intentional, and when the dust settles, the triumph of good over evil is deeply satisfying.
If you love stories that keep you on edge and make you root for survival, strength, and redemption, this book is a must-read. Tanisha Stewart proves once again that she is a powerhouse storyteller—and this novel is one you won’t want to put down.
This was .... not good. It felt like the author had the thesaurus on speed dial, and I found myself wishing it would loosen the chokehold it had on her writing. The overuse of complex language made the story unnecessarily wordy and difficult to enjoy. The end dragged on and on bc it was just big word after big word after big word like damn ok I get it! I can keep up with complex language, but it def didn't fit this type of book.
The pacing was another issue. The beginning was all over the place, with three chapters finishing within like 8 pages. Then, by the time the plot finally started to gain momentum, it was derailed by unnecessary romance elements that added nothing to the story which is said to be a political thriller 🙄.
The storyline had potential but ultimately fell short due to these distractions. 2 stars, don't recommend 😬
I highly anticipated this book and was not disappointed. The action gripped me from page one and never let up. And as the author stated, it did get twisty! For all its uniqueness, it managed to mirror the current political atmosphere, which made it even more interesting. However, in this book, you'll see women rise to the top - with the help of women. Gotta love it; it beats all the testosterone in the room. This was well thought out, well written, fast paced, gripping and even believable in today's world. Highly recommended.
This had me on the edge of my seat. The twists and turns made it more interesting. You really thought you knew what was coming next, but nope, not so. I love this book. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good suspense read. I can truly say, every book of Tanisha Stewart's that I have read, has not disappointed me at all. She is awesome. She bumped up a long time ago as my favorite author. Keep the books coming. I am always ready to read and review. This was my Christmas gift. Thanks.
This book was good from beginning to end. My favorite character was Broderick, and I found his beginning chapters to be the most intriguing. Although the pace slowed some after the first chapters, the story held my attention because of the well-written characters, twists and turns, story line, and a desire to see how things would play out.
This one took me a while to get into, but once I got into it I was locked in. Jeffrey PMO Boderick ended up being my favorite character, from villain to hero! Goon, and Sariah were second close favorites. Overall great story, very realistic with all the political dealings. It reminded me of scandal. I love that it ends with a HEA. Will definitely read more by this author.
Great read! Started off a little slow, but when it caught up, oh my goodness! The governor was something else! Glad the wife was able to get out of that bad marriage!
