Not thinking about falling in love, being in a relationship or even entertaining the idea of romance, Embry is moving forward one day at a time. Luke Brody is charming and sexy, and has a past of his own. He wants nothing more than to put his demons to rest and move on with his life. But, when Embry enters the picture, is he destined to repeat those same mistakes? Blindsided by their instant attraction, neither Luke nor Embry are prepared for the feelings they’re developing. But will it all be for nothing? Will they let their pasts destroy them, or will they risk everything to fight for their relationship when it all comes undone?

4.5 “Southern Sexy” “Beautiful” “I don’t work without you.” Kisses

I truly believe that there are some books that are meant to come into our lives. For whatever the reason…we are meant to read them…experience them...embrace them. I was meant to read Undone…I can’t explain it any other way. This book just worked for me…I adored the characters…was sucked in by the writing and the emotion…I loved the balance of angst and fluff…it just got me and that’s all there is to it.

Embry Jacobs…Bree…I love her. Like…it’s easy for me to fall in love with a good book boyfriend but I need to really connect with the girl. Whether or not I relate to her is one thing but I have to like her and I kinda sorta want Bree to be my BFF. She’s beautiful….blonde hair, green eyes…tall (Yay! Tall girl love!)...sweet, sassy and funny…smart (hello…the chick’s in law school!)…and I straight up just loved her personality. She’s got her quirks, like all girls do, but I just find that more endearing and makes her more authentic and genuine. I have to give her mad props…leaving your family and friends and basically disappearing from the only life you have known is not easy. It takes a lot of strength and bravery but she did it...and good for her because it was what was in her best interest and she came out better for it. But she’s decided to come back home…for law school…for her best friend and family…for herself.

‘Leaving Jack, Morgan, and her family hadn’t been easy. Embry moved to Florida without knowing a single person. She was determined to figure out who she was, and she came out on the other side with amazing friends, memories, and a whole new Embry.’

Lucas James Brody…or ‘Luke I’m-fucking-delish Brody’ …oh my sweet Southern Sexy (and yes…I do mean my Southern Sexy…because he is – if you doubt me, read the acknowledgements! ;-) )…what do I love about Luke. Luke’s sexiness is very classic and very understated. He’s not over the top…he’s very laid back and just like your everyday kinda guy. I think that’s what makes him so sexy, the fact that he’s very realistic in my mind. That’s not to say he doesn’t do or say some of the most über swoony things that just turn me into a pile of mush…because trust me – he does. But that’s just part of the Southern Sexy package that makes Luke F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S. Luke’s got the TDH package down nicely…scorching blue eyes…he loves mac n’ cheese…the Georgia Bull Dogs…and he can cook (excuse me while I melt into a puddle). He’s kind and considerate…thoughtful…but yet in the right situation he can take charge and be a little…cave man (which I love…come on, every girl needs a little cave man in her life). He’s intelligent and sweet…plus he’s got a tattoo of a shamrock on his butt – I mean seriously?!?! Does it get more awesome than that? Nope…I didn’t think so either. I am painting Luke out to be a dream boat and believe me…he is, but he is not perfect. Luke has his flaws…but for me it’s his actions to make up for his mistakes that show me his true character.

“I know you’ve been hurt,” he said. “I don’t know why or how, but I’d kill the fucker who did it if I met him. I know you’re not ready to talk about it yet or you would have told me by now, and that’s fine. There’s a lot we don’t know about each other yet. But the way things are going…I want to know you. I want to learn everything about you.” He brushed his knuckles across her cheek. “I want you Emry, all of you. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t have you.”
Embry was speechless. She had hoped he had feeling for her, but she hadn’t actually considered that he’d be up front about it. As happy as she was that he felt the same way for her, it scared her ever more. She couldn’t pretend this wasn’t real anymore. Even though some small part of her told her to fight it, she wanted him enough not to run. “You have me.”

I rarely ever talk plot in my reviews…and this book is the perfect example as to why – there are so many easy ways to spoil the story – and honestly, it’s just too good to not experience and feel those emotions for the first time. So what did I love…oh where do I start? Embry and Luke together just work for me. I love their connection and their chemistry. Obviously they are attracted to each other physically…but that’s not all that their connection is based on. I love the casualness of their relationship. Luke is not a billionaire…they don’t fly across the world or go on expensive dates…not to mention, that’s just not who L&E are period…but they're just so...'normal' - and I mean that in a good way! It's just very relatable and something that I could connect to. Their banter is phenomenal…so fluid…so conversational…so real. I was lulled into a sense of comfortableness with them…it’s so easy and natural. Like peanut butter and jelly…Luke and Embry! :-) I love their humor… I love how Luke wooed her…yes…there was woo’ing involved. I mean…Bree’s not a nun or anything but Luke’s the closest thing to a relationship the girl has had in 5 years…she’s entitled to a little woo-action. And Luke gives some good action! ;-) Hehehe…oh yes, the ‘action’…Southern Sexy knows how to make a girl swoon in many different ways, he definitely earned his title.

‘“Is this become our thing, baby?” Embry whispered teasingly. “Sex against doors?”
Luke smiled against her lips. “It’s your fault. If you weren’t so goddamn beautiful, I might have a chance at keeping it in my pants.”
“I like it that you can’t keep it in your pants, at least with me. I just think I might miss the bed a little bit.”
Luke groaned as he dragged himself out of her before pushing back in with more force. “Mmm, I have plenty planned for you later tonight, don’t you worry.”
“Is that a promise?”
“No, beautiful. That’s a guarantee,” he said as he joined his mouth with hers once more.’

Honestly…this story isn’t just about Bree and Luke, this is about Bree. You cannot go through what she did…have to make such a drastic lifestyle changes…and not have that affect you. You go through the journey with her…the ups and the downs and emotionally I felt very tied to her. The other relationship that Bree had that I loved…possibly more than her relationship with Luke (Sssh! Don’t tell Luke!) is her friendship with Morgan. Geez Louise that girl is a hoot and a half. Like…if I could I would steal both Morgan and Bree and make them both my bff’s because they just have one of those friendships that you can’t help but love. Morgan is so supportive and caring when it comes to Bree – I mean it’s her bestie, she’s supposed to! But I think she is just so glad to have Embry back in her life that she is willing to go above and beyond all laws of friendship to be there for her whenever. They have this hilarious bond and some of their antics had me laughing so hard I cried. There were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments for me in the book… ‘high five’s’…’man meat sandwiches’ …this list is endless – and I’m not talking about a giggle, I’m talking about I had to put my kindle down because I was laughing so hard. And I cannot not talk about the other man that won my love…Jeremy. Oh my…he’s a little man-whore, so instantly he has won my heart. He is an awesome friend to Bree…and that’s exactly what she needs. Plus…I think there is more to the story with Jer, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

‘She shook her head slightly, unable to speak. Luke strode right into her personal space, and his hands cupped her cheeks as he crushed his lips to hers.
“You own me, Embry,” he said, his eyes pleading. “I’m yours. I’m not letting you run.”

So…this is an angsty romance…and believe me…my poor heart was angst’d! But then the ending happened…oh yes…the ending…let’s talk about the ending. The cliff. Is it a major cliff? Hmm…yes. Not going to lie…you’re left hanging in a lot of ways. There are so many things up in the air and guess what…they could fall just about anywhere…cause at this point, Embry and Luke are not going to have it easy. There are a lot of hurt feelings and things to come back from. Do I think it’s still possible for them to get their HEA? 100%! I’m a true romantic to my core and although I am hurt by what Luke has done, I have faith in his love for Embry. I just hope R.E. Hunter writes that 2nd book very quickly! *hint hint!*

Well-written and solid debut novel by R.E. Hunter. The plot may sound overdone – but there’s something more about this one that drives the story. Most important to me was the fact that this couple is older – not your standard high school senior or college freshman just leaving home.

First year law student, Embry literally runs into 31-year old lawyer Luke. The sparks fly and they say hello but each go their separate way. Soon they encounter one another in a local bar. From there things combust and they begin a passionate relationship.

Of course, each has a past that includes angst, sorrow and struggles that haunts their lives. One carries a secret that might tear them apart. Hunter writes the emotional dialogue with ease. Readers will feel the emotion and passion that flows through these characters.

The cast of secondary characters completes the package superbly. Jeremy is another first year law student who is Embry’s study partner. He’s definitely a player as he makes his way through each section’s female law students. Any dialogue that includes Jeremy will charm your pants off. And there’s Morgan, Embry’s long time free-spirited best friend. She’s fiercely loyal and protective.

And yes, there’s that dreaded cliffhanger. I just wanted to scream, “No!” I can’t wait for the continuation of this story. As far as I can tell there is not a scheduled release date for the next book except “sometime in 2014.”

Last but not least – after starting off 2014 by reading 6 books to date, this one earns my first 5-star review. It definitely lived up to my requirements for a spectacular and satisfying reading experience. Congratulations to R.E. Hunter on a fantastic beginning!

Student-teacher stories are my favourite kind of story with all of the secret smouldering glances and forbidden trysts but sometimes, if the student seems a youngish 18, it can make for an uncomfortable read.

That wasn't a problem in this story as law student Embry is 25 and her law professor is 31. She believes the gorgeous attorney Luke has his own practice as they begin dating. She only learns the truth when her usual professor falls sick. Cue the smouldering glances over the podium and much naughtiness pressed up against her professor's study door.

The romance and chemistry between them is fantastic, and while a couple of things bugged me about the information they keep from one another, I can see that it was important for the
story and the reasons for it were fairly plausible. The banter between them is good too, they felt like a real couple.

The smut was pretty stellar too, no complaints there.

Irritatingly, it ends on a huge cliffhanger, you don't get the full story in this, but I'm invested enough in this couple to want to read on.

This was a really easy read that I couldn't put down once I started. Recommended.

DNF at 52%. Detached. They are grown ups and acting childish. Also, I needed some explanations that I didn't get. I didn't liked the stunt he pulled at the club. Totally made no disconnect.

***4 UNDONE STARS!!***

If you are looking for a book filled with romance, drama, secrets, messed up pasts and a cliffhanger this is definitely the right book for you!
Undone is book 1 in the Disclosure series by R.E.Hunter..A love story with complications. Can two people overcomes their pasts and create a future together? Or will past secrets rip them apart?

Embry Jacobs is a strong, independent woman who is studying law.She is focused and most of her life is based around her studying nothing can distract her from her goal..or so she thinks. She is recovering from her past which has left her damaged and she has returned home with her best friend Morgan to New York after running away from her past.

She’d had to pick up the pieces of her broken life and move on once before. But she couldn’t do it again, not after all of her hard work. She wouldn’t accept it, she couldn’t.

During their orientation Embry ends up running into a hot Lucas Brody who she can't stop thinking about! This “hallway hottie” ignites something in Embry that she never thought she would feel, not after all the bad in her past.Things change when she meets Luke he is smitten with her as she is with him and things start to move fast. Embry wasn't looking for a distraction but somehow Luke created a place in her life and it may lead to consequences and destroy a lot of things.

“You own me, Embry. I’m yours.”

Lucas Brody is smart, funny, caring, gentle and beautiful..how can you say no to that? When a beautiful girl runs right into him and takes his breath away Luke has to fight to keep himself away from her, but he can't help himself, he is drawn to her and can't give her up. After leaving his old school behind and getting a new job Luke is trying to move on from his past and get by but Embry changes everything.

What happens when they are both come face to face with their ugly pasts? Will their relationship survive? Will the past repeat itself?

Some parts of this book were slow but then I got into it and was hooked until the end.The bloody cliffhanger left me thinking and making up random excuses for the characters. Omg can I have the next book? like now? Seriously how can you leave us hanging like that? Do you make it your mission to torture us? I loved the twists in this book they were unexpected and left me wanting more.

I liked Embry for most of this book she had her annoying times but I was glad she was open and how their relationship just worked, they clicked, it's like everything was perfect and then Boom! Why? I hated the secrets and was getting real suspicious of a certain somebody who kept getting edgy and weird near the end.I can't wait to find out how the story continues and I swear next book better not end up turning into a love triangle or somebody is going to get hurt!

Embry Jacobs is back home, five years ago she ran but she’s ready to take control and not let anything stand in her way of her dream of law school. She never expected the stranger she bumped into in the hallway on campus would invade her thoughts or her heart. Giving into her attraction puts all her hard work at risk, but she knows she just can’t stay away – no matter the risk.

When Luke crashes into the blonde beauty in the hall, his thoughts are consumed. Unable to stay away from, knowing what the temptation could cost them both. But Luke is keeping his own secrets from Embry, ones that will destroy any trust she may have in him. Even when those lies and secrets were intended to only protect her, they do nothing more than break her.

As the truth comes out, will Embry run yet again and will Luke stay to fight for what he can’t seem to live without?

This was a fantastic debut novel that held my attention and allowed me to easily get lost in the story. I loved that the blurb left out some key aspects to this story, which ultimately led to a surprise theme that I didn’t see coming.

One of my favorite character meeting situations is the accidently bump into moment. I can’t ever get enough of this in books. I love that instant spark of attraction, in my eyes, this can never be overdone. And Luke. He was pretty perfect even with the secrets he kept. I loved that he was so crazy with attraction that it took him a while for his brain to kick in at times. And although these two attempted to play it safe, they failed miserably.

The ending of this has one heck of a cliffhanger that makes me want to dive immediately into book two. I need to know what is to come of these two and I love that Jer’s getting his own book. I can’t wait to get to know more of him and have a feeling he’s going to play a bigger role in book two than any of us can stand.

For those that love an angsty new adult romance, this is a great book to pick up.

I was given an ARC from the author for a honest review.

One of my author friends approached me about reading this book for her friend that wrote it. I was like sure. I love helping new authors and exploring new books. OMG!!! I am so glad I did! This was so amazing and so well written I was immediately drawn into the story and never wanted it to end!! When you think its the typical situation... bam.... you are thrown a curve ball that I never saw. I love trying to figure out a book but I never saw this one coming! For a debut novel by RE Hunter its a superb book that I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us!

We start with Embry returning from just graduating from Florida State. She has moved back home to New York after leaving four years ago. She never thought she would be back to her home town but her best friend convinced her to come back for them to attend grad school together where she is studying to become a lawyer. During her first week at school, she literally runs into the dreamy Luke Brody. He's figures he is not a student as he is just a little older but to young to be a professor. They just exchange hellos and hi's and they each go their separate ways. A couple days later they see each other at a local bar and sparks fly. The attraction they have for each other is apparent. They continue to meet after that and quickly fall into an easy relationship.

Each of them have things from their past that they are struggling with. When these secrets are exposed how will they deal with it. One of them has a bigger secret than the other and has the power to rip their relationship apart. When reading this book I never wanted to put it down. It was a page turner that is sexy, romantic, suspenseful, and I never wanted it to end! I am now a huge fan of RE Hunter and cannot wait to read the next installment! This was a huge 5 star read for me and would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!

I loved this book; it hooked me in from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down until I was finished!

Embry is a strong character, who has had to deal with (and run from) some issues in her past. She not only survived, but became a determined, confident woman. She heads to law school with her best friend Morgan and meets Southern sexy Luke. Luke from the start had me swooning. He knows just what to say and how to say it. The sexual chemistry and attraction is definitely there with Embry and Luke, but there are obstacles that keep forcing them apart.

I think RE Hunter did an outstanding job with her debut novel. She had excellent character development with not only Embry and Luke, but also with supporting characters Morgan and Brett (I am hoping they end up with their own book at some point).

This book left me DYING for the next one in the series and I can't wait to read more from this author! I would recommend this book to any of my book friends!

Loved R.E. Hunter's debut novel!

Good pacing and well-written. And I liked Embry and Luke right from the start, I n fact, I quickly found myself turning the pages to see what was going to happen. At so many points in the novel, I was on the edge of my seat, worried they'd be found out (she's a law student and he's her HOT professor). And that ending!! I can't wait for the next book to come out. Write faster, Rose; I'll be bugging you! ;D

**Note: I plan to write a more comprehensive review later, but definitely check this one out now!***

She’d had to pick up the pieces of her broken life and move on once before. But she couldn’t do it again, not after all of her hard work. She wouldn’t accept it, she couldn’t.

Undone the debut novel for Author R.E. Hunter. WOW what a debut it is!! It is full of emotional twists and turns all of which have you wondering what could possibly happen next.
This is an amazing 4.5 star read!

Embry Jacobs is a strong determined young woman embracing the beginning of law school. She is dealing with dark demons as she returns home to begin her new journey. Just five short years ago Embry was living a lie. She was dating her HOT high school sweetheart that her parents loved as if he was already their son-in-law. This relationship was full of dark rage and Embry’s only means of survival was to escape and flee to a college several hundred miles away.

Luke Brody is the tall, dark and handsome HOTTIE that comes out of nowhere. He recently relocated to the area and is looking for a fresh start. Little did he know that one look at Embry and his whole world would realign. Luke is the total swoon worthy package with his piercing blue eyes, sensitive and caring demeanor all with a side of mystery that surrounds him.

She wanted to feel something good. Reaching out, she grabbed his face and brought his mouth to hers. Every nerve ending in her body flared to life as their lips connected. She knew he was holding back, letting her run the show.

Just when Embry finally feels she can let her guard down an embrace this relationship things take a sudden turn. Did Embry turn a blind eye to red flags circling Luke’s secrets? Can they pick up the pieces and move on?

The secondary characters are really like main players in this story. I fell in love with Jeremy! He is Embry’s classmate and study partner. I can't wait to see what Jeremy's involvement will be as this series unfolds. And we have Morgan. She is the spirited bff that we would all love to have at our side. She loves Embry fiercely and is willing to protect Embry at all costs.

This is an amazing story of struggle and adversity. You will find yourself so connected with these characters that they don’t leave your heart and thoughts for days after finishing this book. AND THE ENDING… Yes one and all it is a Cliffy!!! I had such a serious book hangover from this book!! I honestly couldn’t say if I was more torn up over the twists or the cliffy!!! I will be stalking R.E. Hunter as she feverishly works on the sequel, which she hopes to release this summer.

I did not, did NOT want to put this book down. I was entranced from the start. But of course as in life, I was faced with many interruptions; one being of the six year old variety. So I found myself going to great lengths to find some much needed solitude and finish this book. I even took to hiding in the children's bathtub with the curtain drawn, lights off, and hoping beyond hope they would not spy the glow coming from my phone. Why was I reading on my phone? Because it's easier to conceal in my pocket. Whereas mom walking through the house toting her Kindle is like wearing a neon sign that blares DISTURB ME with an arrow pointing directly at me. So aside from the cold from the tub seeping through my clothes, I settled in to finish reading about hot, sexy, seductive Luke. Professor hot, sexy, seductive Luke and his taboo romance with Bree.

I honestly fell in love with BOTH characters. Embry, Bree, is a twenty-five year old law student. She is dedicated to her future and is constantly working hard to maintain her high GPA and keep her scholarship. She’s smart and strong. Bree may not see the strength in herself, but I could. She’s got a past that has left marks on her emotional well being. But when she meets Luke, he makes her feel safe and secure. She finally takes a chance at a relationship and love again.

Luke, oh my Lord where do I start? He is intense and seductive. I love a man who looks you in the eye while charming the pants off of you. But he’s patient. He doesn’t want to rush things. He wants to take the time to get to know Bree. Luke cares for her and takes care of her. He’s a nurturer with a sexy, southern accent. Seriously, I could on and on and on and… You get the point.

I could not get enough of these two together. They absolutely fit! But, Luke has kept something from her. It divides them romantically for a while. My heart ached to see them apart. They were hurting, themselves and at some point each other. When they do get back together of course my heart rejoiced. I was elated. We’re on the road to happiness here. But oh no, no no no. R.E. Hunter couldn’t leave it there. Luke has one more secret he’s kept from Bree. A pretty big one. It brought Bree’s world to an absolute halt. My heart split and pieces of it feel into the pit of my stomach. I was literally in tears. As if that wasn’t enough, Ms. Hunter has one more curve ball to throw. The last page in the epilogue…the last two sentences…broke me. I was left an emotional wreck. I was crying for Bree and Luke and the state of their relationship. I was angry at the possibilities over what the last two sentences could bring in the next book. In case you haven’t guessed by now, yes, it’s a cliffhanger ending. But a very, very GOOD cliffhanger. A double cliffhanger! One of the best ones I’ve read.

R.E. Hunter did an amazing job evoking feelings in me, the reader. I felt every sensation there was to feel in this book. Every caress, every heated stare, the frustration and anger; I felt all of it. I love when an author does that to me.

I truly cannot wait for the sequel. Ms. Hunter has made a fan girl out of me.

Blurb:
Five years ago, Embry Jacobs ran...

She ran from a past that still hasn’t let her go, but her dream of becoming a lawyer is stronger than her fear of confronting that past. Embry’s sole focus is to get through law school—with the help of her best friend, Morgan—and make something of the broken girl she became.

My Thoughts:
Undone is the debut novel from author R.E. Hunter. This is one of the best debuts I have read in a long time. If you are looking for a book that will keep you up until the early morning this is it! I was lucky enough to read this before it was released. So I have actually read it more than once, which is a huge thing for me. I am not someone who often re-reads something. Unless it’s a book that absolutely touches me deep in my soul. This book has all that and more for me. Right from page one I was sucked in. Each page had me craving the next.

Embry is a beautiful, intelligent, independent woman. She has struggled for years with her past. After a little encouragement from her BFF she is back home to attend Law School. She is determined to keep herself on track and finish her law degree without interruption…..that is until she bumps into the most beautiful man she has ever seen. She is instantly drawn to him, even though she doesn’t know anything about him. Should she take a chance on a beautiful stranger?

Lucas Brody is a handsome successful man. He is also struggling with issues from his past. He is starting his own practice in a new place. While doing that he is also helping a local professor with some research. While visiting the professor he bumps into her…. Should he try to connect with her or should he just keep walking?
If you want answers to these questions you NEED to read Undone. I loved this book and I know you will too. This story touches on some very heavy issues. Be prepared to laugh and cry with Embry, Luke and the rest of the crew. R.E. Hunter sure knows how to throw you a curveball which may result in wanting to throw your e-reader. Make sure to tie it down just in case! Seriously though, R.E. Hunter did an amazing job connecting us with her characters. I think we could all use a little Southern Sexy in our lives.
Yes, she ends Undone with a cliffy, but it will all be worth it in the end. I am (not so) patiently waiting for book 2 in the Disclosure Series.
I want to congratulate R.E. Hunter on an amazing debut. <3

I am suffering from one of the biggest book hangovers right now! Ahhh!!!! Luke and Embry’s story captivated me from the very first page and held on tight all the way through the very end! Such a fantastic, angst-filled, and sexy read! I’m telling you right now, go one-click it!!!

Well, okay. About this book…

After a very intriguing prologue, chapter one officially introduced us to Embry. Still recovering emotionally from her past, Embry returned home to New York to start law school with her best friend, Morgan. They had the type of friendship that was really more like being sisters; to the extent that Morgan was the only person that knew why Embry left for Florida five years ago. Their banter throughout the book flowed naturally and was quite hilarious. I found myself giggling a lot while reading scenes where Morgan was present. Let’s just say, she brought humor to the story line...

During their orientation, Embry bumped into a very HOT, blue eyed man. Helloooooo, Luke Brody. Luckily for both of them, they kept running into each other during the different social activities. I mean, only so much time could pass until they gave into the inevitable. And trust me, them together was just that. Luke and Embry’s connection had been instant and their attraction was undeniable. So when that first kiss happened…. I maaaaay or may not have squealed. *wink* Prepare to swoon for Luke, ladies!
“I want to know you. I want to learn everything about you.” He brushed his knuckles across her cheek. “I want you, Embry, all of you. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t have you.” - Luke

Everything was going perfectly. Things ran smoothly and were definitely HOT between them. Until…. BAM! Surprise!!!! One of Luke’s secrets came to light. After this little turn of events, everything changed and got complicated between them…to say the least. But thankfully, throughout the book, they basically worked around their little predicament. Their relationship got hotter, stronger, and even more swoon-worthy.
“You own me, Embry. I’m yours.”

It seemed that as long as they faced everything together, they came out stronger. And honestly, their relationship got put to the test several times. Embry’s past came crashing into her present, all while Luke was still hiding something…. Trust me, I felt antsy throughout most of the book!

Towards the end, I was flat out ANXIOUS!!!! And during that last chapter? HA! I literally felt as if I was holding my breath all the way until the very end. *Sigh* CLIFFHANGER ALERT!! Oh my!! Yes!!! This book ends in a cliffhanger in every sense of the word! All I can say is I neeeeeed the sequel...yesterday!! I am too curious for my own well being! Go buy this book!!! You need to meet Luke! Phenomenal debut!
“Because you were never just another girl to me.”

Wow! This is a phenomenal debut novel! You will be gripped to the pages until the very end!

You will be in for an emotional roller coaster of a book and will sympathize, feel and care about the characters!

Embry has a hurtful past. One that she hasn't shared with anyone other than her best friend. She wants to keep things simple and straightforward and only focus on school. Things are going well until she bumps into a hot man in the hallway. Things then change and she can't help but think of this sexy man. Who happens to be none other than Luke Brody.

Luke is a lawyer and he too has had a hurtful past. He can't help but be attracted and drawn to Embry. He's falling head over heels for her, but can he get to keep her?

When these two see one another in the bar... it's crazy electric. You can tell from the moment they meet they are drawn to one another. The draw is magnetic. They have an interesting way of dealing with each other and their past pains. Despite all the wonderful feelings and attraction both individuals have pain from their pasts that prohibit them from sharing things with one another; due to personal reasons of feeling they will lose the other person. But what can happen from being afraid and not telling the truth?

I loved Embry and her best friend Morgan. I loved Embry's devotion and dedication to want to do well in school and focus on her schooling. I liked how she got Luke and her sense of humor as well. :) Yet, I was a bit upset with her at times for not truly listening before running away from her problems.

Luke was sexy, dominating and also very caring towards Embry and that I loved. I loved that side of him. But there were times I was frustrated with him too... and wanted to slap him upside the head. You will fall for him though, just like the other female characters do! bahahaa ;)

This book is sexy, sad, frustrating, filled with pain, hardships, true friends, filled with shocking revelations and twists that you didn't see coming... and will captivate you truly until you finish the book! You will fall for the characters, feel their pain and be drawn in and want to find out what will happen with them!

And then that end! OMG!!! That an interesting CLIFFHANGER.... that I know I will be feeling for days!
I was saddened and can't wait for the next book to see what will come of these fabulous characters!

Fabulous debut from this author. One you should definitely be on the look out for! Awesome read!

4.5 stars from me and recv'd a copy of this book while on the book tour!

Undone is author R.E. Hunter’s debut novel, and what a debut it is!

Embry Jacobs left home four years ago without warning following her high school graduation. She believes her past is now firmly in the past, and Embry’s returning home to attend law school. She’s worked hard to put the pain that caused her to run behind her. Now, reunited with her best friend, Morgan, the only one who knows why she left, Embry is focused, confident and determined to make her law school career a success. A chance encounter with a “hallway hottie” ignites feelings in Embry she never planned to experience again. She certainly isn’t looking for any distractions, but Luke Brody must be the most beautiful man Embry has ever seen, and her attraction to him is instant and palpable.

Move over, book boyfriends, and make room for Lucas Brody. Luke’s got everything! He’s smart, funny, sweet, caring and unequivocally the most beautiful man Embry has ever laid eyes on. Luke is just purely delicious in every sense of the word, and everything he does is irresistible. I have to warn you, though, that even with all (and I do mean ALL) of his seemingly flawless qualities, there was something about the Luke Brody character that author R.E. Hunter created that just kept me thinking in the back of my mind, “He’s too good to be true.” I can’t put my finger on it, precisely, but I just can’t help but fear that something (or someone) was going to burst my Lucas Brody bubble.

Embry and Luke are definitely now on my favorite couple list for sure. I love these characters! They are both intelligent and intelligently written. Their issues are complex, and their conversations are mature and engaging. In addition to Embry and Luke, the supporting characters are intentional, well-developed and contribute perfectly to the plot.

At the risk of giving anything away, I must warn you that Undone ends with a cliffhanger, and it looks to be summer before R.E. Hunter gives any of the answers I’m looking for. That means if you are an instant gratification-type reader, you may want to hold off until book two is on the horizon. Or, go ahead and read Undone now, and I’ll be happy to commiserate with you all spring.

Since I finished it on January 1st, Undone qualifies as my first official 5-star read of 2014.

Congratulations, R.E. Hunter, on a splendid debut. I absolutely cannot WAIT for more of Embry and Luke’s story!

I had to take a couple of days to sit back and digest my feelings on this book. This a private message that I sent to a friend immediately after I finished reading, I think it best sums up how I felt. And incredibly, it still feels the same way four days after as I type this review, lol:

"I am on the verge of tears right now. I feel like I just had my heart ripped out and my stomach is just nauseous."

Yup, that's the sign of one incredible book! To convey those raw emotions and keep the reader feeling it well after it's done. Dear sweet book hangover, oh how I've missed you :)

I'm in a love/lust relationship with Luke aka Southern Sexy. Could he be anymore of the southern gentleman than he already is?! Swooning still!!!! He is protective, romantic, a true, door-opening southern gentleman, sexy alpha and boy does he like to get down and dirty in the bedroom...oh my, fanning myself again. Although I do have to say, I'm peeved a bit at this massive secret he has been holding onto that has the power to destroy something so incredibly beautiful in his life!

Embry is a determined, sexy, law student who is hell bent on making something of her life. She is focused and doesn't want or need the distraction of a relationship during the chaos & hell of law school. But there is also another reason that she doesn't want the trappings of a relationship. It's a secret so big that it's kept her away from her beloved parents and best friends for years. It caused her to run away from all the things she loved, to keep herself safe. All those feelings changed when she & Southern Sexy literally bump into one another at school.

Of course this story would be incomplete without some villians. Jeremy & Sydney will, I'm sure offer some serious relationship conflict to this couple. Got to love some good angst!!! And it is provided two-fold.

Let me say, I love the relationship that Embry has with not only her best friend, Morgan but also with Morgan's boyfriend. I adore the big brother-like relationship that Brett has with Embry.

My only regret with this book, is that I hate that I waited so long to read this wickedly hot, debut story! I won't make the same mistake when the next book comes out. It is on my must-read now list!!!

Some love stories get you right in the gut. The writer paints such a perfect picture, that you can almost physically feel the intense attraction, the longing, and the pain. Stories like that are very tough to forget, and that’s why I can’t get Undone out of my head.

Embry Jacobs is a broken but determined young woman starting law school. A horrible relationship from her high school days still haunts her, so she intends to not let in any romantic distractions. That goes out the window when she runs into “southern sexy” Luke Brody. He’s perfect in every way, and Embry starts to let the walls down she’s fought so hard to keep up. They make a strong connection, but Luke is hiding something.

As sexy and confident as Luke was, when it came to Embry, he totally followed her lead. Embry tries so hard to do the right thing, but he doesn’t want to be pushed away. He’s hurt and angry because all he wants is Embry, and she is so affected by him she can’t really stay gone for too long. Between their longing from afar, the toe curling sex scenes, and the possessive alpha ways that Embry brings out in Luke, their forbidden romance is an intense and emotional roller coaster.

Embry was a great character. Scared and broken, but strong. Luke was of course wonderful, gorgeous and smart - a really good guy at heart who just wants to love Embry. In every scene, their connection was real and electric.

The ending and epilogue left me very impatiently waiting for the next book. (Very VERY impatiently).

This was a well written and fantastic debut from R.E. Hunter and I can’t wait for more of this series.

Embry Jacobs left New York to escape a bad relationship however shes back and attending law school with her best friend Morgan. Embry wants to focus on her studies and doesn't want any distractions, that's until she bumps into Luke Brody. Luke "Southern Sexy" however is just the type of man that she needs in her life. Luke is just perfect but seems to be keeping some secrets of his own. Once those secrets are revealed, will Embry and Luke be able to move forward or will everything they both worked so hard to get be left undone?

First, I must say how being a native Long Islander, I just LOVED all the Long Island/New York references!! And it's true that out East has the most amazing pies you will ever have!

This is the authors debut novel and it just blew me away. The story grabbed my attention from the beginning and the flow was perfect. I loved all the characters, connecting with them and I just enjoyed the amazing ride the author took me on.
Embry and Luke have this amazing connection and boy, does it get steamy.

I absolutely loved this one and recommend everyone to read it. The ending has me just dying for more and can't wait for the next book.
Southern Sexy is definitely your next book boyfriend!

I'm not sure I can express how much I loved this book. Seriously, it gave me the biggest book hangover I've had in a while. I'll tell you how this went down. I started Undone on a Sunday night, got about to the 85% mark and had to put it down because I thought I knew where it was going and if I read to the end I wouldn't get any sleep. Monday rolls around and I CANNOT stop thinking about those last 55 or so pages I had left. So, what does any die hard bookworm do? I pulled out my ereader at work and finished it. I have no shame. But then I spent the rest of the day reeling and not able to get any work done because I seriously couldn't get Luke and Embry off my mind. It was really bad (my distractedness not the book). Kind of still is. Bad to the point where I almost stalked (friendly stalked) the author down and begged to give me some info on the second book. I kept my decorum though... for the most part. However, R.E. Hunter if you're reading this, please throw us a bone!

"Do you need me to explain to you how hard it is for me to be around you? How I can't think straight when you're near me? How I can't breathe when you get too close? That despite how hard it is, I find myself rationalizing all of this just to find another excuse to be near you?"
~Embry

Okay back to business. This book was simply amazing. We meet Embry at the beginning of her Law School career. She's fought her way back from an emotionally traumatizing past and is ready to knuckle down and live the future she always imagined. What she never dreamed of was a seductive, blue-eyed, sex god to enter into her life and steal her attention. Luke Brody, is everything Embry wants, and everything she thinks she doesn't need. But, they can't combat the chemistry that explodes when they're together. I've read/seen a magnetic attraction before... but Embry and Luke together could melt the biggest iceberg in 2 seconds flat. They draw lines though, so she can focus on school. And they spend every other waking moment together being sickeningly adorable. So all's well and good... until it's absolutely NOT.

"I came here to get away from you. I had no idea you'd be here. I just wanted one night without having to think about you... about us. But then you walked in, and I couldn't stay away. I can never stay away."
~Luke

R.E. Hunter will blindside you again and again in this book. You will have a wonderful, fuzzy feeling and then she'll rip your fantasy world apart with her words. And then she'll make nice and offer you really hot scene or a sweet moment but, what you don't see is that evil grin on her face. To say Undone was a wild ride, is an understatement. This was one of those books where it took me really high on the emotional level on to let me hit rock bottom. Over and over. But it was SO good. I know I'm twisted. In all truthfulness this was a fantastically written, and well developed story that I can't wait to buy in paperback and have it sit prettily on my shelf (Yes, those are the golden words, you know this one is a winner). These characters will have you blubbering, squealing, frowning and smiling. You will be kept at the edge of your seat until you fall right off. I have to applaud Ms. Hunter for such an incredible debut novel and thank Schmexy Girl Book Blog for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. This is one of the greats of New Adult right now and I suggest you all get those twitchy fingers clicking!

Happy Reading!

OMG I don't know what it is about the forbidden love of a teacher and student that makes me want to devour a book as much as I did this one! I loved this book so much that I am giving it a 5 star and I don't do that for books that end in cliffhangers! Aghhhh if you have ever read any of my previous reviews on cliffhangers you will know how much I loathe them! Even though this was a cliffy I still loved this story and can't wait for more!

Embry-- she is running from a past that she never wanted to face again, she ran to college and 5 years later when she decideds to go to law school she returns back home where it all started for her. She is still very distant from her family because of fear that she will run into her ex, but her best friend begged her to come home and go to law school together. Will she run into the person that made her run away in the first place, will he bring more trouble? Will it be a big mistake or will she finally meet the love of her life? Can she persue this love even though its technically forbidden, but who can close there heart to someone when you opened it to them before you knew who they were? Or does a secret from the past completely destroy this relationship, or just the secret they are keeping from everyone?? OR maybe both? Can she actually have a forbidden relationship when being a lawyer is what she wants more than anything in the world or will she give that up for Luke?

"Look I know you've been hurt. I don't know why or how, but I know I'd kill the fucker who did it if I met him. I know you're not ready to talk about it yet or you would have told me by now, and that's fine. There's a lot we still don't know about each other. But the way things are going.... I want to know you, I want to learn everything about you." Luke paused, brushing his knuckles acroos Embry's cheek. "I want you, Bree, all of you. I'm glad you're letting me in, because I don't know what I would do if I couldn't have you."

Luke-- holy tatooed sexy bad boy wanna hump his leg hottness!!! He is your typical sexy bad boy and to top it all off he is a lawyer! He moved away from his family and past to start a new life. He doesn't share his past with anyone and he is only here to work not to have a relationship, but will one day change that all? Will a new teaching position help him focus or make it worse? If he persues this love for a forbidden woman can they keep it secret so it doesn't destroy them, or will something from his past do that anyway or will they both?

You have to read this book! I know I hate cliffhangers but damn it was so great and you never expect it to end the way it does. Its a high speed roller coast ride that you don't ever want to leave, there chemistry and the sexy scenes were off the charts hot! GAWD I can't wait for the next one!!!! The anticipation may just kill me so this could be my last review! That would be tragic :)! Hopefully I will make it out alive so RE HUNTER you could save a life here #wink #wink!!!

Embry Jacobs is happy and excited to start Law School. The best part is that she won't be doing it alone, her best friend Morgan is joining her.
Embry has one purpose in life - to stay focused on her career and keep her grades up.
She has a past, five years ago she left her family and moved to Florida/ UF to study right out of high school. She was leaving her boyfriend Jack behind and she swore not to fall for another man and give him the power to hurt her.
That is until she bumps into Hallway Hottie.
She meets Luke Brody and school may not be the sole priority anymore. Maybe getting to know Luke is what she really needs.
Luke is tall, dark and with the most beautiful blue eyes. Morgan can't stop falling for Mr Southern sexy but when a conflict of interest presents, staying away from each other may be impossible.

I'm so happy I decided to read Undone. I like the flow.
I liked their first few encounters, specially the night of the social. Embry and Morgan were funny. Their bond as best friends is tangible and Morgan had her back every time.
It was so easy to fall in love with Luke Brody. He was funny, sweet, smart, thoughtful and sexy. The one thing I didn't like is that he kept hiding things from Embry. I understand why he did it, but not happy about it.
I do have to mention that this book ends in a cliffhanger. (why?, why?, why?). I'm not sure where the next book is going but Embry and Luke better not cheat. That's all I'm saying.
On a side note, I think Jeremy needs his own book.

"Her belly clenched. She took him in slowly. Designer jeans, black button-down shirt tailored perfectly to his muscular build. Sleeves rolled up to the elbows exposing tanned skin and thick veins. Embry noticed him swirl the amber-colored liquid in his glass as he waited for her to finish her greedy perusal of his body. She lingered on his face. Just the right amount of dark stubble dusted his strong jaw, and the dimple in his left cheek appeared as his mouth quirked into a small, knowing smile. He was perfect."

What a sweet story. Luke and Embry love each other deeply but will their love be enough to outweigh the risk of having a relationship together?

Embry has just started Law School with her best friend Morgan and has returned home for the first time since running away from her abusive ex-boyfriend.

Looking for an uncomplicated school life and one that will not involve a love interest, Embry sets out to focus all of her attentions on her studies that is until she runs into Luke Brody. Blindsided by his good looks and beautiful eyes, Embry knows that her resolve has been weakened but not knowing who this handsome man is, presumes that she will never see him again. A night out in a club soon answers Embry's question though as she see's Luke across the room. It's not long before Luke's heart calls out to Embry and together the pair start to realise that they can't hide their feelings from each other.

As their romance grows though so do Embry and Luke's problems and what starts off as an innocent relationship, albeit one which is destined to be life changing, it soon turns sour and becomes a complicated mess filled with hidden agendas, deceit and heartbreak.

This was a really enjoyable story. I was aware of the cliffie at the end and the good news is that the next book, Unbroken, is on it's way but after the way Undone ended I suspect Unbroken will be a painful and emotional read.

RE Hunter is a new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance. I'm not normally a lover of sweet romances with emotional twists in the storyline but I really did enjoy this one. It was extremely well written and carefully edited and the story really flowed. My only teeny-tiny criticism is that it seemed a little long and drawn out at times but saying that, I wasn't tempted to skips paragraphs etc.

“I want you, Embry, all of you. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t have you.”

The story is about Embry. The day she starts school to become a lawyer she literally bumps into this gorgeous blue-eyed stranger – Luke. Immediately the sparks fly. It takes one glance and she is lost to this man. This is a rare occurrence for her. She has been burnt badly in the past causing her to avoid relationships at all costs but with Luke she was willing to throw caution to the wind.

Luke was just as smittened as Embry was. Being the southern gentleman that he is, he tries to take things slow even when she wants to move things along faster. In that short time frame he knows that he cares for her enough to get to know her better before going further.

This is one of the many things that I adored about Luke. He also intelligent, romantic and playful, self sacrificing and becomes Embry’s protector when a situation arises where she needs one. Everything about them falls into place up until we find out that Luke has been holding out on Embry. He has a secret that is relationship shattering. While I can get the logic behind him holding this important information it was upsetting that he wasn’t honest with her from the beginning. They try to work things out and when they finally get past it, another heart breaking issue arises.

At that point I was very much disappointed with Luke. Just like Embry I loved him and I hated him, loved him again and hated him even more. They had this amazing relationship. They fit in every possible way. How could he mess up something so perfect? Totally upsetting, right? It however doesn’t end there. This story has a major “pull your hair out” cliffhanger.

Even so, I enjoyed this story. The varying emotions that the author was able to elicit from me was outrageous. This is very impressive from a debut author. I thought the writing was great, the flow was smooth and the tension…OMG…the tension was magnificent!
