The Room in Grandma's House

The oldest living woman in North Carolina is dying, and her great-great-granddaughter, Tiffany Warren, has been sent to Connecticut to close up grandma's home. She discovers that grandma Edna was a "collector." As she boxes up the spare rooms full of junk, Tiffany gets to know her grandmother. She also gets to know the ghosts from Edna's past when she opens a room in the attic and they begin to appear whenever she goes inside.

The Room in Grandma's House

Grandma had a life long ago, and in this life she had a love, one she could not let go. She lived Her life as if things never happened. But they did ! Now grandma is 116 years of age and nobody knows who she was or what actually happened in her life. Chosen to close her house up her great grand-daughter finds a locked room in Grandma's house. This room will open her life up to at this member of her family but also opens up all of grandma's secrets. Tiffany is not prepared for what she is to learn. A touching , THRILLING MYSTERY you are sure to enjoy. I RECOMMEND

A.L.Jambor has written a different ghost story in that it is wrapped around a live story. When Tiffany Warren is selected by her family to pick up her great grandmother Edna‘s house she never anticipated what she would find. On the third floor of the house is a locked room. Once unlocked, the room had magical powers. Long buried secrets were uncovered and mysteries were solved.

Although this was a stand alone piece, it is included in the author’s A House Collection - 3 equally intriguing stories. I’m downloading it now as this author grabbed my attention with the way going and tender touch.

It’s funny how life makes decisions for you. Whether it’s getting off work early, your dog cuddling you…all to prepare you for the pain of loss. At least that is what happened to me when I was reading this very book about loss, while living in my own Grandma’s house.

I recommend preparing for the scene of loss if you are also grieving. As a former art student, now in Stem with new student loans, and old, I recommend following your dreams. As we only have one life to live.

Pleasant little read

Like my review title States, this novella was a pleasant little read. Not great but a far cry from horrible. Would have liked more depth (or, perhaps, maturity) to the main character, Tiffany, but perhaps "young and a tad shallow and whiny" was what the author was looking for.

This short story left me wanting more. I enjoyed the reality of love and life. This is not your typical love story but it is absolutely addicting. I really hope the author has since expanded and continued the story in novel form! I highly recommend this story to everyone!

This was a short story however it is a complete story. It will have you remembering about your own family. The characters are likeable and believable. This is the first book that I have read from this author, but it won't be the last. This story was very entertaining. I highly recommend this book to you.

This is a fast moving and short read, great for a choice squeezed between books of stories with more pages and description. The author skims over scenarios and events with just enough description of the characters and happenings that the readers could understand the story intent, but not enough that they could be pulled into it with intense emotion. There is just enough mystery to keep the reader wanting more. It’s an easy read. I would classify it as a story of mystery, time travel and fantasy, and some ghostly aspects. As described in the book, “The author lived in large, old houses and the memories of those days have inspired her to write stories featuring mysterious houses and restless spirits.” This story tells of Tiffany who is voted by the family to pack up Grandma Edna’s house in Connecticut. She had been a caretaker for her. In her endeavor to pack up all of Edna’s personal belongings, she comes across a locked room. After eventually gaining access to the key, she opens the door to the mysterious room, switches on the light, and finds the room unlike Edna’s other rooms and this is where mystery begins.

Not that Tiffany wanted her to die, she loved Grandma Edna. She had been sitting with her at the nursing home and had gotten to know her much better.
Now Tiffany found herself in North Carolina to clean out Grandma’s house and get it ready for sale. Grandma was a collector. It looked like she collected a little bit of everything and a lot of it. However, one room in the attic wasn’t overstuffed with collections. It had been locked but Tiffany found the key and went in. Then something funny happened while she was in the room.

Tiffany Warren’s Great-Great Grandmother Edna is the oldest living person in the state of North Carolina at 116 years old.

Since Edna has been placed in hospice care, the family has sent the unemployed Tiffany to complete the task of cleaning up her great-grandmother’s house.

What she discovers inside the house changes her forever.

I thought I had a good idea of how this book would go, but I was pleasantly surprised with the story. I was also pleasantly surprised by it’s length.

We learn quite a bit about Tiffany’s Grandma Edna’s past. And with her being 116 years old, there is a lot of history.

I really enjoyed this story and would be happy to recommend it to others.

Sweet story.

A stretch to believe that a woman lived until she is 117 years old but this one did! This short story was like a window into her life. As her great great granddaughter gets to know her by old picture albums and a magic room in the attic. Through the window in that room - it was like a time machine. Matter of fact, that's what I thought of when Tiffany watched time change looking thru that window, the movie and book "The Time Machine" by H. g. Wells. This was a simple but sweet story.

The great-great-grand daughter, Tiffany Warren was packing her things away when she found the house had some interesting things in it and a few very unusual things were happening. A good story but could have been longer. This author is noted for her short stories.

This is a cute tale. I went into it knowing it was a short story but I've seen other titles of Jambor's and thought this would be a good test. I did like the story and wished there was more. The characters were a little abrupt but the story was told. I think I've used the phrase before: this felt like the condensed version where anything extraneous was cut out.

I will jump into another Jambor with high hopes of a lovely read.
