Welcome to Cut N’ Curl, wher- . . . Um, excuse me Rayven, but you doing the most right now! It’s bad enough my name ain’t on the damn cover. I got this. Well, hello there boys and girls, this is Juju. First off, I want to thank all of you for convincing Rayven to write my autobiography. Well, I guess it isn’t quite an autobiography, since I have to share the spotlight with Janea, Angelle and Kabo, but I’ll take it. As you all know, I’m the new owner of Cut N’ Curl, where you can get yo’ hair fried, dyed, and laid to the side. Of course, just like any other salon with a multitude of personalities, we have our occasional drama—as you shall read, but there ain’t a jealous b@*&h out there who can hold a candle to me when it comes to doing hair. So, sit back, grab you a glass of Moscato, as I share my world. Smooches!
The beauty shop is the place to go for women to relax and let their hair down while getting their hair done. Cut n Curl beauty salon is no different. However, what do you do when the stylists have more dramathan their clients? Juju is on a power trip after becoming the new owner of the shop. Angelle is dealing with an unruly daughter and hurt from the past. Janea is holding on to hurts from past relationships making her very relationshiphobic and instead relying on one night stands. Kabo has no problem being subordinate to all the rules Juju puts in place. How will this four stylists and their drama co-exist in the same shop?
This was a really good story and it kept my interest from beginning to end. While the story was good there were a few flaws for me. 1. There were editing and grammar issues that were noticed in the story. 2. The flow of the story was interrupted with one of the characters having a chapter addressing the readers in which reviews and future books from the author were discussed. Even though these flaws affected the story slightly in my opinion, I am looking forward to the next book in the series
Ms Rayven has done it again!! Cut N Curl was everything I imagined it would be and more. A little family drama, a little workplace drama and a whole lot of laughs!!
Juju the star of this show is now the owner of the hair salon Cut N Curl but he is waaayyyy out of line as a boss! Janea is still talking about sex but someone might help this leopard change her spots. Angelle still hasn't managed to get her life together since her boyfriend Onion died a few years earlier. Her daughter is wild and all over the place and life is too much for her to handle. Kabo a newbie to the shop can't stand Juju!! The two of them go at it daily! Smdh its certainly more to Kabo than what meets the eye.
All in all, I was thoroughly satisfied with this story and can't wait til part 2 is released. The storyline was well thought out and executed. The characters blended well together which ultimately made the story that much better. Way to go Rayven!!
For all you Jealous itches!!!! If you didn't know, then you will.....Juju don't play; He says what he means and means what he says!
You want HILARIOUS, ENDLESS, JUICY DRAMA? Well, LOOK NO FURTHER! With the forever turned up antics of Juju and Gang, there's never a dull moment in Cut N' Curl . While this dramatic, laugh out loud, page turner keeps you in stitches, Rayven also successfully highlights some very serious matters that's sure to leave you pondering a few things.
In the words of Shareese....Sometimes...Things are not what they appear to be even when you're looking right at it.
ok at first I didn't know how the author was going to pull this off but baaaaaby she did it. I was caught up in the book laughing and just wanting more of JuJu . Kabo was dead wrong for blaming folks for his skeletons, but that R Kelly scene had me cracking up. Rayven truly shed light on the DL men and did it in a tactful way. waiting on part 2 I hope JuJu makes it, these "jealous britches" always hating :-) lol
I'm an avid reader and by no means did this book keep me interested. I finished it ONLY because I don't like to start a book without going all the way through it. I'm glad it's finally over. I had a hard time keeping track of who was speaking at the beginning of many chapters and I only enjoyed it for mindless entertainment. It didn't start to get good until towards the end. Then we are left with a cliffhanger....I don't think I will be moving on to book 2.
I found this book absolutely entertaining. I have Never laugh so hard reading a book. It had moments for tears, lessons to be learned and the right ingredients to make reading more of her books an option. Actually there is a part II and it was just as good. But don't skip this one because the second book is the icing on the cake. Have fun!!!
Wow I loved this books and all the characters at the beauty shop! There is still plenty of gossip going on now as I sat reading this. There ups and downs make you seem like a part of their lives
Cut N' Curl was a five star read. I enjoyed reading about Juju's life. I can't wait to read the next book. Was good to get a glimpse of Milk and Sabrina.
Funny and entertaining. Most gay people can really be as blunt as juju. The whole shop has issues. It's a good read in between other books and a very good page turner.
This book was hilariously funny and serious all wrapped in one. I plan to read Part II, but not in a rush to do so. This first book was free :-), hoping I can get the 2nd one for free as well.
