3 1/2 stars - this is an erotic short that uses a bit of sci-fi to set up the premise of a future sex worker who can help her clients live out a realistic scenarios because she thinks they're real while they are occurring. So she doesn't just role play out the act, but truly believes she is that character during the act. Interesting set up - and I love the use of Sci-fi for this sort of thing ;) There's a lot of set up about how serious and scary the client's fantasy is and how much time she's going to have to spend being healed afterwards. But in the end, it was anti-climatic for me. I really expected something extreme and violent from the title/cover and set up through the book but in the end it was pretty tame and straight forward. The sex was described fine, but it just wasn't what I had been looking forward to.
The writing was clear and concise, decent editing throughout. We get to see the FMC before she becomes the character to set up the scene and that was interesting. Once in the RPed scene, there's some interesting conflict between how her body reacts and how shocked she is by her bodies' reaction that finally has a reason to occur. Normally there's no explanation for why the FMC is so excited by the things that she doesn't really want - but this time the reader has that explained so it doesn't seem as trite.

Jen was born for her chosen line of work. Although she practiced the oldest profession in the world, much has changed in the last couple of centuries. It was no longer just slam, bam, thank you, ma’am; straight sex. Her clients now want more and thanks to her recently acquired persona implants, she was able to give it to them. Fantasy is what the clients desired, the more perverse, and the better and the better it was, the higher the price. Jen is the BEST. Acting, role playing was her forte. Jen takes on the role of Celine, a preacher’s daughter that is rebelling under the social and moral confines imposed under her strict father’s regime. Running barefoot, wild and free with the feel of grass tickling her toes. As an innocent girl of nineteen, she will be kidnapped and soon at the mercy of a stranger. He has all of the power, she none. She has no other alternative but to submit to his will.
There is a fine line between erotic fantasy and deranged sadism and this story precariously walks it. It really didn’t do much for me but my investment in it is only time. This is the first book in the Slave for Hire series. It hasn’t impressed me enough to invest any more time in it. The mystical brush and magical tea, however, would bring millions on the open market.

A first effort in the series - the latter ones are much more compelling. I still enjoyed this but in comparison to 7,8, and so on this one is pretty tame. That's relative of course. Oh and just to be clear these are erotica (some would say porn - I don't care what you call it) - NOT romance folks. Don't expect a HEA - but expect some hot action.

short intense sci fi erotica read heavy in adult content with a very loose plot. Premise is a role play situation featuring a minister's virgin daughter being abducted to service a wealthy (?) lord. She is to be a virginal sacrifice with a twist. Does include BDSM themed role play though because of it's length is very superficial. I'm not a fan of the overall story for that reason.
