This was such a great addition to this series and I really loved it. Usually love triangles are a trope that gives me the ick, but the way it was done in this story made sense and added to the plot instead of taking away from it. Vela, Linc and Rayne were such great characters and the interactions and chemistry vela had with both linc and Rayne was really great. If you want a clean romance with twilightesque vibes I would highly recommend this book! Please note that this is the third book in a series and cannot be read as a standalone. Thank you to Sofia Simpson and Jessica Gwyn for the ARC of this story.

Wow where do I begin. Tempest starts off right where we ended in Torch with Vela and Rayne running for their lives and without Linc. This book definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions and twists and turns. The major twist in the book threw me for a loop because it was one I was not expecting at all. And honestly I still can't believe it happened! This book is a definite must read if you love action, adventure, clean romance, fated mates, and twists and turns. Sofia Simpson knows how to pull you into her world and not let you go into the very end and now I'm even more excited for book four Tidal to come out. I need more!!!

It was so exciting to read another installment of Vela’s story, especially this one as the second book ended on a shocking note! Firstly, Sofia didn’t stop her amazing flow of suspense in this book. It just continued and was as gripping as ever! All the twists and turns coupled with the emotional roller coaster of the love triangle kept me glued to the page. Sofia handled the love triangle with such skill and mastery. I didn’t feel annoyed or upset by it as it added majorly to the plot throughout the entire book. I won’t say any spoilers but just know I LOVED how it ended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially the spiritual aspects. Sofia always points back to God. One of the main characters has a beautiful and touching spiritual revival/awakening. (Again, I won’t share spoilers). I highlighted so many quotes from this section and I loved how Sofia revealed the power and glory of God through this character’s spiritual experience.

Finally, the romance made me blush! I enjoyed how the characters remained respectful and crossed no boundaries, but still loved each other deeply and passionately. Sofia writes such sweet, God-centered romance. I found it so adorable how the MMC adored and cherished the FMC while she adored and cherished him in return (no names = no spoilers)!

If you love Christian fantasy, sweet romance, love triangles, suspense, and faithful furry companions, try Tempest today!

I can’t wait for the fourth book!

Happy reading,

✨Tempest✨

Here we are again, now in book three of Sofia’s YA urban fantasy with Christian threads set in Canada and a world where humans and elementals reside albeit warring!

We begin Tempest right where we left off in book two and are immediately thrown into the fray of action and heartache. As we follow the first person POVs of Vela and Linc, we get to see them grow, change, and discover new parts of themselves in hopes to better each other and their people. However, there’s quite a large stick lodged between them. One named Rayne. As Vela and Linc travel the deep forests of Canada, they must figure out if their bond is true or just another option. With extremists on their tail and a rift in their relationship, we get allllll the angst, pining, and a couple dark secrets.

Tropes you may find in Tempest are forced proximity, he takes care of her, chosen one, elemental magic, bonds, Twilight esque love triangle, angst, self-discovery, protective MMCs, deeper magic exploration, wider world building, not a mean cliffhanger, no spice just kisses, and a furry side kick!

Thank you, Sofia, for allowing me to be on your arc team once again! It’s been such a fun journey following these characters and I’m stoked for book for. Tempest releases October 6 and books 1&2 (Torch & Terra) are on KU!

Okay, this book… It’s really hard to say how I feel about it.

I read the first two books right before I started this one and I have to say Tempest is the book that sucked me in the most. I enjoyed book one and book two was even better in my opinion, but book three had me completely hooked!

There were so many things I loved about Tempest. Starting with an additional POV. Linc was already my favorite character in the first two books, but let me tell you, his POV made this book SO MUCH better!

Linc is honestly pretty amazing. He has issues with anger but he learns to rely on the Lord, to forgive and his character growth is just perfect. We already saw how he grew in faith and character in the previous books, but it’s more pronounced, more obvious in this one.

So… my main issue with the books remains and honestly even worsened in Tempest: I don’t like Vela. There, I said it.
She is whiny and judgemental and adding to that how she behaved in this book regarding the (in my opinion unnecessary) love triangle… Just wow! (insert angry eye roll.) I really don’t like her and I am obviously not as mature as Linc because it felt to me like he forgave her too easily. Not saying more because of spoilers, but since the blurb already revealed a love triangle, I feel it’s safe to say I absolutely hated this part of the story. I am never a fan of a love triangle, but it can be done without upsetting me too much. Vela failed miserably and I am actually still mad at her… Still don’t know why she is so special or why these two boys are even interested in her. Linc deserves better and the only redeeming thing about Vela is that she realizes that. This might sound harsh but I’m invested in this series and it annoys me to no end that I can’t stand the main character no matter how hard I try to understand and like her.

If not for Vela this book would easily have been a 5 stars read, not only because of Linc and his character arc but also because of the tension. It’s done so well and the action and suspense scenes are absolutely perfect for a YA book. They keep you on the edge of your seat without being gory. It’s high stakes and completely gripping and this book was even more captivating than the previous ones.

So, do I recommend this book? Absolutely! It’s a wonderful Christian YA series and I absolutely love how faith is a main subject!
Do I hope Vela will somehow hit rock bottom and learn her lesson the hard way? Ehhm. Yes, I am definitely petty like that…

I absolutely enjoyed all three books, even though I have major issues with the main character and I was more than happy about Linc’s added POV. He is awesome and there are other quite amazing characters. Vela is learning, but I am still not happy with her. So we will see what the next book will bring, especially when it comes to Vela’s character arc. Can’t wait for book 4!

* Thank you to the author for letting me read an advanced copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily and the expressed opinions are my own.

🏔️Tempest🏔️ by Sofia Simpson is the third book in her Christian YA Elemental Fantasy Series with sparkling details such as:

✨ Fated Mates
🏔️ Hiking Adventure
🌲 Lost in the Woods
💙 Twilight-Love Triangle
🐻‍❄️ Polar Bear Troubles
❄️ Minty Clean Romance
🕊️ Deep Themes of Faith
🐾 Doberman Companion
🌬️ Chosen One Prophecy
🪶 First Nations Representation

🕊️ I have to say that Sofia's poetic illustrations of Vela's deep faith & prayer life is so inspiring and touching.. Her conversations with God are one of the best parts in this book series, especially the way her relationship with Him deepens and grows stronger through each book.

💙 I love the way Sofia writes romance, it's sweet and swoony while staying realistic; the main characters are normal, flawed people who need to rely upon God's grace, guidance and forgiveness, just like us..And their relationship goes through ups & downs just like in real life..No unrealistic fairytale romance expectations here! The love triangle tension between Vela, Linc & Rayne finally comes to a breaking point in Tempest, and I'm so relieved at who she chose!!💍

🏔️ Once again, expect to be transported somewhere amazing, this time as we follow Vela, Linc, Rayne & Jack through the dense Canadian Boreal Forests..There's so much going on in the plot this deep into the story that it's really hard to say which parts I loved best..But I will say that Sofia's version of a love triangle is the ✨only time✨ I've ever really enjoyed that trope, besides in Twilight!

💙 If you’re a Christian looking for a series with clean yet passionate romance, elemental powers and fantasy adventures…That is not only God honoring but will also strengthen your faith in God...Then you need to add the entire Elemental Series of Terra, Torch & Tempest to your TBR!

🏔️ Thank you @sofiasimpsonauthor for the honor of arc reading your book, I absolutely loved it and would rate it

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sofia's third book picks up right where the 2nd book ends. Readers can expect drama, faith, character development, fantasy, and maybe a love triangle when you read this series.

I love how Sofia develops her story, while reminding the reader of things that happened in previous books. Characters introduced in previous books make appearances, along with a new race of people! I loved getting to experience the culture of this people group.

Vela and Linc have a lot of growing up to do in this book (spiritually). I love the faith elements and lessons that Sofia presents. These books are perfect for teens to read. No spice, no swearing, no mature content.

Books 1 and 2 should be read before this book, and I highly recommend Kane's novella (it's my favorite so far!).

So, how do I start?
First off, Linc is now my favorite character. I LOVED his arc; he really grew as a character and is a good guy. The content of Faith was good, from what I remember.
Now, the rest of this will be a spoiler so I can rant.

That was it for the rant. I can't honestly recommend this book to others, but it is your choice. I will probably read the final book when it comes out if it's free, but if I forget, it's not a loss.

Tempest is a whirlwind of adventure, sweet romance, and strong faith threads. I’ve really enjoyed the third book in the elementals series that continues Vela and Linc’s story.

This book starts with Vera injured and separated from Linc in the Canadian wilderness alone with Rayne. While they search for a healer and path back to Polar Bear, Linc searches for Vela. As they journey they face perils within and without.

I loved how the descriptions and action really immersed me into the wilderness life and the beautiful northern lights.

You will love this book if you enjoy:

-YA fantasy
-Sweet Romance’s
-Strong faith threads
-Off grid, adventure/survival stories

Well done

What a journey book three takes us on. Linc and Vela find the remote outpost and have many adversities thrown their way. With God's help they overcome them all and watch the prophecy come to fruition.
Well done. A clean CF story good for all ages. Some kissing and passionate desire for their intended.

If you're a fan of YA fantasy, you'll definitely enjoy this story. Now, I'll warn you that you MUST read the first two books to understand what's happening in this one.

We pick up the story where book two ended. Vela & Rayne are trying to survive separated from Linc and the others. Vela's injury forces her to rely on Rayne more than she'd care to. I appreciate that the author understands that teenagers typically have teenager emotions, thoughts, and impulses. Vela definitely acts like a teenager at certain times in this story. I think teens will be able to relate to her (and Rayne & Linc). Because Vela is close to her 18th birthday, she's learning more about her second gift. This plays into the story in a very big way.

Linc, having made some rather poor choices in the previous story is devastated being separated from Vela. Understandably, he's not thrilled that Rayne is the one to be with her. Linc knows that Rayne is gunning for her and the more they're together... alone... in the wilderness. Well, a guy needs to rely and trust the Lord's plans sometime.

There's a lot of adventure, a LOT of emotions, some great fantasy and world building in book three. I appreciate how Linc and Vela continue to try to grow in their faith throughout the story. Vela needs Him as her source of strength to fight her growing attraction to Rayne and Linc has to put his trust in the One who brought him and Vela together. I'll also say there are moments in the story where you're wishing you had someone to talk to as you're reading because they'll leave you with your jaw dropped!

*I received a digital copy of this story from the author. This is my personal opinion.
