I had mixed feelings about this book. I loved Saving Grace and was eager to read the sequel. At first I found the third person and present-tense (both in contrast to Saving Grace) distracting. After the first chapter or two, I lost interest and took a while to come back to it. Once I got into it, I did enjoy it overall. There are some plot elements that seemed a little far-fetched to me but overall not bad. Also, one thing that struck me (from a Christian standpoint) is that during Mike and Grace's marital troubles, Mike makes a drastic decision but there's no mention of him talking to a mentor, counselor, pastor, etc. I would think/hope that for as spiritually mature as he is supposed to be, he would seek wise counsel, and support for them both, in working through such serious problems. That's a minor point but just something that struck me (probably related to my own professional and church background :)); I wanted them to get more help to constructively work through that!
Still though, once I got back into the book I read the whole thing in less than 3 days despite being in a busy season, so clearly I found it engaging!
