Dark Italian Mafia

A lie is only the start

Layla

I had to run, I had to keep myself hidden or he would find me.
I couldn’t marry Ricco, he was everything I despised, he was a monster.
Somehow, I managed to fall into the wrong hands…
In the darkness of the enemy and to save my life, I had to lie.
I’m a Dellucci, and we’re at war with the Conti’s. I had watched people be murdered, souls stolen, girls used, and games played, all in the name of power.
I must play his game, in order to stay alive.

Antonio

I am a Conti, who is out for revenge after Dellucci killed my father, if I could get him then his pathetic side-kick, Ricco will follow.
I want to wear their blood.
I found out that Dellucci’s princess had gone missing, and I made it my mission to find her, she was the perfect way to get Dellucci and Ricco in my grasp.
One day, I found myself in a strange position. A young woman had managed to get PAST my crazy security, and onto my land. How DID that happen?
If she could do it, so could my enemies.
Somehow, she managed to make my cold heart beat again and I took pity on her.
Little did I know what the future and effects of her secrets held.

Oh wow the sexual chemistry was off the charts in this book and it was a fabulous read as usual. The way the two characters were put together were amazingly put together and made the story very enjoyable. Holly gill has gone and written another brilliant book and was able to get me sucked in to the book which led me to have a late night due to the fact that I couldn’t put the book down.

Wow, I was totally blown away by this story. This book tells you what it's like to be part of an Italian Mafia.
Daniella aka Layla has run away from her evil father. He has promised her to Ricco, his right hand man. Daniella absolutely hates the idea and refuses to give in, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She runs away.

Antonio, the head of the other Italian Mafia family has now got Layla. He's totally unsure of who she really is. He takes her into his home, given a job and most importantly safety.

The war between the two families is getting worse by the day. Antonio decides that he wants the Dellucci daughter to help win his battle. The Conti family has been in a war with them for many years.

Then there is Denise. She thinks that she's Queen and rules the roost. She reminds me of a character from another series written by this Author. When in fact she's nothing but a whore. She has a great deal of trouble letting go and moving on. She's not one who likes to lose and will fight for what she thinks is hers to own.

Please read this book. I absolutely fell in love with this book.

If you love Italian Mafia stories and enemies to lovers like I do, then you need to read this! It has it all! Lies, deceit, murder, lust and even possibly love. Daniella is on the run from her evil Father and even more evil right hand man. What she doesn’t expect is to end up in her enemies clutches! Antonio has been out for revenge and is looking for Daniella. But when he unexpectedly comes across Layla, is she who she says she is? Layla is a strong young woman who just wants a better life, but what she goes thru to have that, will blow your mind. These two have intense chemistry and their connection to each other is palpable. What will Antonio do when he finds out the truth? Can Daniella prove to him that she can be trusted? This story will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and I didn’t want it to end!

Amazing…

OMG! Oh, my goodness… lol I have to admit to two things, this is my first book by the great Holly J Gill, but also my first mafia romance. So, what did I think? Lol, I loved it. The story was fast-paced, gritty, pulled no punches and flowed brilliantly. The blood, sweat and tears which went into writing this book was well worth it... One I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a gritty e£0tic romance. Brilliant read. Now I'm gushing..

Holly has done it again! I don’t want to give too many spoilers but the trope and TW list in this is fantastic! The secret identity tropes is one of my favourites so I was absolutely gripped. The plot and action throughout is 5 ⭐️ Like the majority of Holly’s books this is on the darker side so check your TW!

Another page turner from this author. I am a fan of mafia stories and I was not disappointed. Antonio and Layla’s journey kept me captivated from the very beginning. This story is dark, full of lies, murder, it’s intense and their chemistry is undeniable.

Holly blew me away with this Italian mafia romance!

Solace was the perfect read to end April with. Holly’s storytelling, character development and plot twists were captivating and made for a page-turning thrilling read!

From hiding in a car, to using a fake identity to stay alive and more & more plot twists, she kept me on the edge of my seat, not knowing where this story was going at all! I loved Daniella as the FMC. She was sarcastic, witty, strong and wasn’t the type to back down in fear too much. She made the perfect partner for Antonio. Who btw was a great MMC! I loved his character development from beginning to end. He became a more softer, loving person and really changed to be a man that Daniella could truly trust and rely on when things were rough. The spice in this was a 4. Their chemistry was insane and made for some delicious spicy scenes. YESSSS ANTONIO. And just have to add, for a virgin: Daniella was a FREAKKKK. I was not expecting her to be that sensual and comfortable in it, LOVED IT! And my favorite side character was Carlos. He was so sweet and the PERFECT right hand man to Antonio. He was a good friend to Daniella and really cared for them like family! Overall, loved this book and can’t wait to see what Holly writes next!

Holy Moly - what a ride -
Daniella / Layla - running away from one life of danger straight into another. From 2 men who would control her every move.
Antonio - is after revenge for the death of his father, wanting to hurt the child of the man who changed his life.
Little do either of them know that their paths are about to run into each other, literally.
Will Antonio realise the runaway that was found in his property is the same runaway that he is looking for.
Hot, Steamy, Gritty and full of angst.
This is not your normal run of the mill mafia romance.. this will have you holding your breath and leave you wanting more.

Layla/Daniella escaping her father's plan to marry her off to Ricco. She gets in a random car only to end up in the basement of her father's nemesis Antonio. She is doesn't tell him who she is or the real reason she ended up in his car. She sticks to her story even when Monica and his Antonio 's men try to get the truth out her. But how long will the ruse last? This was so good and I can't spoil it but I highly recommend it.

This was a fantastic book, I love mafia books and this did not disappoint. The story was different from the usual run of the mill mafia romances, how the relationship comes about is out of the ordinary. The character development and the relationship development is excellent and paced really well. The writing was captivating and kept you involved in the story. My first book by Holly but will not be my last!

Hot Damn

This book right here. It had me on the edge of my seat since the very beginning. You know, when you have an Alpha Mafia King, he will always need a queen. Now, if this queen turns out to be his enemy's daughter. That's the mix right there that had me biting my nails. Wait, did I mention the hot sex between these two? You'll have read this book.

Except for a few grammar errors here and there. I still luved this book.

Solace is a great introduction to this new to me author! It's an intense, gritty, at times heartbreaking, well written story with fantastic characters. If a Mafia, enemies to lovers journey is your thing this is the perfect read for you. I was completely consumed by Antonio and Daniella /Layla's story and absolutely recommend Solace. I can't wait for more from this author!

The premise is really good, but the writing is not great. I found it very hard to follow at times. There’s a lot of repetition and words used that did not make sense. Tons of run on sentences that made it very difficult to read. Not the standard of a book that I’d expect to be released. Overall, the story was interesting, but I really struggled to get through it.

I enjoyed this book, but would have preferred it if the heroine would stop crying so much!
All in all it was a good story and worth the read.
