Valentine's Slave

Rate this book
What will she do when a dark, handsome stranger offers her $50,000 to be his Valentine's Slave?

After breaking up with her cheating boyfriend, losing her home and her job, and grappling with her mother’s worsening Alzheimer’s, thirty-year-old Ava is desperate. She’s working late nights at the diner and crashing on people’s couches to survive in New York City so she can be there for her family, but she knows she won’t last long. As a last resort, she makes a profile on a Sugar Daddy website and hopes for a rich ninety-year-old who won’t be able to walk, let alone get it up.

Living in lonely solitude to pay for his bloodstained past, forty-four-year-old Valentino has little connection with the world except for once a year at Valentine’s Day when he unleashes the beast inside and lets himself go wild with a stranger. As soon as he catches sight of Ava, gutsy and desolate, he knows he must have her. But this year, he wants more than to just get laid. This time, he wants to drag her into the dirty depths of his depraved soul and play a game.

This time, he wants a Valentine’s Slave.

3.5/5⭐️
4.5/5🌶

Me gustó. El final lo sentí muy rápido y simple y el romance se queda corto. Pero el resto del libro me pareció bueno, (Siempre que te guste este tipo de literatura).

The spice didn’t quite hit for me sadly. It isn’t the worst that I’ve read but it definitely could’ve been much better. I wish we’d gotten more emotional depth from the characters. This book could’ve been edited better than what it was. I wasn’t a big fan of the ending as well. It feels rushed and to me isn’t a very satisfying end to the book. For the age that the mmc is at I expected a lot more emotional maturity.

This is a great story that I was privileged to read as an ARC for my honest review. I would give it 4.5 ⭐️ if I could. We follow Ava and Valentino on an emotional journey as they work through their emotional trauma while fulfilling their contract. This is a dark romance that is fast-paced, very spicy book 5/5 🌶. The story does end with a HEA. There are a few triggers, so be sure to check them out before diving in.

Story overview: Ava is homeless and trying to help provide for her mother. Valentino only allows himself to be intimate for one week out of the year. She will be his sex slave for that 1 week.

Triggers: drugs, murder, BDSM, master/slave, child death, and stalking.

I was given an ARC in exchange of my honest opinion and review. Valentine’s Slave follows Ava and Valentino’s arrangement. It’s very Pretty Woman meets 50 shades (for lack of better comparison, I’ve never read the books but I got the gist of it, contract, BDSM, etc) but I am 100% here for it. Their relationship progresses very quickly, even with a little pushing away. Valentino has a tragic backstory - I was honestly teary eyed when he opened up to Ava, but also when he pushed her away - it hurt my heart. But he makes up for it… ‘cause it’s steamy… He’s got a way with words for his little Valentine.

Ava is a 30 year old woman, whose entire world just went up in flames. She lost her boyfriend, her home, her job - now she’s bouncing from couch to couch to avoid sleeping on the streets and found herself looking for a sugar daddy. I honestly loved her because even though her life was a dumpster fire - she was fiery and defiant (and punished accordingly.) She opened herself up, learned about her sexuality and how to feel comfortable in her own skin. Which, as a plus size woman - it is not easy, and it’s emotional AF.

Valentino is a 44 year old software engineer with a tragic backstory (I won’t ruin it.) All year he’s celibate, and he only allows himself one week of indulgence around Valentine’s day. When he see’s Ava, he knows he has to have her… and he offers her 50k to spend the week with him, and she’s desperate enough to take it. I also loved Valentino because he was just sad and lonely, punishing himself because he though he didn’t deserve it.

And can we talk about her cool AF 10 year old nephew? He likes good music, wants to go into the mosh pit and helps Valentino get the girl. I mean come on, “I hope you haven’t stopped believing in true love.” He’s adorable! I’d like to see his story one day, ‘cause he’s gonna make some girl very happy!

My favorite spicy parts!
⬇️
▪️ In the changing room, talk about fucking empowering! Embrace your beauty little Valentine!

"I want you to look in the mirror and watch me fuck you."
▪️The sex swing… Listen I need images/drawings that show how some of those positions worked because my mind was BLOWN.
▪️The vibrating panties - I mean it’s not a super spicy scene but it was romantic. ⬇️
"When I gave you these panties"... "I told you I wanted you to live. It took me eight days to realize that I, too, wanted to live. And I want to do it with you, no matter what. I want you, Ava. Always,"

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Finished this book up later than planned due to life getting in the way.

Valentine’s Slave has everything you expect, with the word slave in the title and more. This book is spicier however calling her juices “goopy” and some of the other descriptions have me pause as those didn’t feel right for the scenes.

If you need a good spicy book as a palette cleanser, quick read, etc. This is the one for you.

This was a delicious, fast-paced, smutty read. The chemistry between Valentino and Ava was palpable. The dressing room scene was perfect and will stick with me. I love a good "will they/won't they" until they finally give in to the HEA. 50 shades of grey vibes, but darker, with a beautiful ending and a trip into radical self-acceptance. Some themes include: Master/Slave (Dom/Sub), Age Gap (30/44), Sexual Contract, BDSM, Toys, Trauma, Praise, and best of all, this is in Dual POV.

This book was cringe and the details were all messed up. It needed to be edited better.

She said her mom lives in a one bedroom Apartment one page and then another it’s a small house that her and her sister grew up in…. It said she hadn’t seen her mom in months but a previous chapter had Valentino watching her like 2 days earlier taking a walk with her mom…

Also, he’s all about safe words at the beginning but for her “trial”, before she signs the contract, he doesn’t even tell her the safe words.

He had all type of mental issues and definitely not ready for a healthy happy ever after.

And to wrap it all up there was some word and phrases that just gave the ick.

- goopy, when talking about her 💦 and another time about his 🍆 after she used her 👄.
- “Her 🐱 queefs, as such 🐱 farts are called” please just don’t say that again. lol
- and then commenting that the 🍑 plug didn’t have 💩 on it. That also could have just been left out.

Valentino has been watching Ava and he’s willing to pay her to be his slave for the week of Valentine’s Day. He’s promising a week of life changing sex for $50k and she’s struggling for money. After she takes the offer, she’s in for a wild ride.
I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Roughly 80/20 smut to plot ratio, so much character development, wonderful writing. The FMC is witty, bratty, and strong-willed and the MMC acts accordingly. Amazing chemistry between the main characters. I wish we would have heard more about him watching her and more conversations between spicy scenes.
Overall I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!

DNF page 150/256

Unconsenting BDSM sex between the 2 main characters.

To start my review I'd like to make it known that having sex while intoxicated (drunk/high/etc) is rape.

- Not once does this FMC say yes, but even then she's still had a few drinks.

Chapter 11, the main characters go out for dinner and she drinks. (It's in his POV)
- They come home and he's like "are you ready?"
- She's tipsy.
- He goes into the bdsm room anyway.
- He turns around to find her completely laid out and thinks to himself that she's clearly more drunk than she said.
- He gives her whiskey before asking if she's ready to be collared.

How is she making all these choices if she's this drunk? She even tells him that she's uncomfortable in the restaurant when he puts his hand on her inner thigh.

In the first few chapters when they have their "trial run" for compatibility, she has a few drinks and the room is spinning.
- She tells him she's not into anal and he says "only because you were with the wrong person"
- While she's in this state, he puts a giant 3 layered butt plug up her ass.

^ He also said she could have a safeword during their compatibility testing, but she's not given one to use.
- She's gagged even though she said she was uncomfortable with that for too long.

The writing quality was so bad. The phrases also made me feel sick.

"her pussy slurps and sloshes, fresh juices coating my fingers."

"are you ready for me to baptise you with my cum?"

Also his deceased wife and son was so confusing (up to where I DNFd). They were killed at the same time but on their tombstones one died on February 8th, the other died on February 14th.

Glad to say I will never be reading this author again.
Can't remember who recommended me this on a Facebook group but never recommend me books again.

Wow that was SPICY!!!

Ava is down on her luck. She broke up with her cheating ex after living with him and now she’s basically homeless. Plus she’s coming to terms with her mom having Alzheimer’s. She doesn’t want to stay with her sister and be a burden so she couch surfs. Little does she know.. Valentino has had his eyes set on her for a special *project*.

Valentino Rossi is a kinky, hunk of a man who has a certain “ritual” ever since he lost his family. Each year he allows himself a spicy sexual encounter with a random woman. Only for Valentine’s Day. With it being the 20th anniversary of his loss, he sets his sights on Ava for something more.. something darker.

Ava is offered $50,000 to be his “slave” for a week and since she’s homeless and has no income, she agrees. But what she doesn’t expect is to be so drawn to him. Valentino promises himself it’s just sex.. but he realizes he’s been doing more than he thought he would with Ava.

This book was GOOD!! I initially thought it wasn’t going to be for me but as I kept reading and seeing the journey between Ava and Valentino, I started loving it! Ava is witty and strong willed and no matter what she’s dealing with she keeps on going and I admire that in a female main character. Meanwhile Valentino is hard and emotionless but being around Ava brings out another side of him. Oooo I LOVED IT!! The majority of this book is kink and spice so check trigger warnings!! There were some things that I found to be a bit icky…’like the word “goopy” was used 😂 and I definitely couldn’t imagine some of the positions that were described, but all in all a fantastic, fun, dirty, read. 4 stars!

If you want a book that has sex and sado-masochism on nearly every page, then Elizabeth Douitsis’ Valentine’s Slave is for you. Hunky Valentino Rossi has sex once a year – on Valentine’s Day – after the death of his wife and young son. He persuades thirty-year-old Ava Montgomery to be his sex slave for a whole week leading up to February 14th. In return, he promises to pay her $50,000, enough for Ava to leave her couch-surfing, minimum wage lifestyle behind. But she has to be available for sex and sado-masochistic ‘torture’ day or night, anywhere and anytime Rossi dictates.
However, if you think that this book is merely an unremitting kinky sex romp, you’d be wrong. Delve beneath the surface and you’ll find a story about sadness, loss, vulnerability, desperation and ... love. These qualities emerge as the main characters’ backstories are slowly revealed to the reader and we begin to see the complications, hopes and sorrows that each has faced in the past and will have to face up to in the future.
Elizabeth Douitsis’ book can be seen as a twenty-first-century version of the classic 1950’s famous and important erotic novel, Story of O, by Anne Desclos. Elizabeth is a young, talented writer with a big future ahead of her who is not afraid to tackle edgy and controversial subjects in the same honest and forthright way that Desclos did. I hope her book becomes as significant.

I knew after reading the synopsis that this was a book I was going to enjoy. Please check TW before reading this book as it does touch on some darker themes.
This book dived deep into both kink and emotion. Ava and Valentino are both broken people who are just surviving and not really living. I enjoyed Ava's "f off" attitude and how she kept that fire throughout the book. There is a bit of an age gap with Ava being 30 and Valentino being 44. I didn't mind the age gap, and it wasn't one of the main tropes in the book which I was okay with.
Valentino was a different MMC than I normally read in these types of books. I feel like a lot of the time they're billionaires (nothing wrong with that, I also love a billionaire romance), but Valentino was just a regular guy who did yoga and wanted to have extremely kinky sex for a week. He was a software engineer and I enjoyed how they took an Uber instead of a private driver or something.

The Victoria's Secret changing room scene will live rent free in my head.

I was lucky enough to read this book as an ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to ARC read this book. It was so fun!

I have to say that one of my favorite things about this book was that Ava was a curvy, plus-sized lady. Being one myself, I'm always excited when an author actually portrays us in romance books. And to have Valentine absolutely love that fact about her? I loved that. Between that, her style and music taste, it was easy to put myself right into the story.

That said, this is one of the steamiest books that I have read lately. So if you are looking for a purely smutty read, this is definitely a book for you. By the middle of the book, I was rooting for the two of them to give up on their no-strings original agreement. From the blurb of the book, I knew it was going to be full of spicy scenes. But I never expected to be crying because of the book. Yet, it did make me cry. I love a book that can be spicy as hell but still tug at your heartstrings. The last chapter in the book was a definite rollercoaster for my little heart and what an ending to the book it was!!

When going into this .. I was unsure how I was going to feel ! But the more the story progressed , more hooked I got . There’s a lot of spice in here — probably more than plot but what plot there is I enjoyed a lot . I loved Ava’s character - how a real life breakup can cause your life to change sometimes for the worse and leave you couch surfing . Also makes you desperate enough to join a sugar daddy site to see if you can make quick cash , Valentino was a man who lost his family due to his past life of dealing . His way of torturing himself is to abstain from sex and just go to town from Feb 8-14 ! I love the representation of a real man in this book . Also one whos struggling with his past / emotions to move forward and be happy .

If you were offered 50,000 dollars to be a schmex slave for a week , would you do it ?

A "quick" read I read with my book club. Galentines Day reads (Valentine Books with Kierra *Book club Host*)".

The book just wasn't for me. It was hard to get into for me. The most interesting part for me was at the end of the book when Valentino stole the remote to her vibrating panties after their contract was already up and she was on a date with someone else. She choked on her food when he turned it on and the date just sits there as Valentino comes to her rescue. Had me laughing out loud. I mean could you imagine?! 🤣🤣

Trigger warnings ⚠️
-stalking
-talk of past relationship trauma, specifically concerning one-sided, selfish sex
-a sexual contract including master/slave dynamics & BDSM
-brief, non-graphic telling/mentions of violence & murder, including an infant
-conversation about a character's drug-dealing history

Man this book was spicy 🥵. I absolutely loved this book. It was fast paced and fun. I love a good sex contract. This book touched on some relationship issues as well as poverty issues but I recommend reading the trigger warnings before reading because there is some darker aspects and degradation to this book. There is a HEA to this book and it was done in a really kinky and well done way. The world building throughout this book was amazing and I just never wanted it to end. Although I will recommend not to read it at work, because those spicy scenes can get intense. I am in love with this book and it was just what I needed to get out of my reading slump. I highly recommend this book if you’re a fan of Fifty Shades or just BDSM in general. Happy reading!

This one caught me off guard: It was way better than expected (the cliché stock picture used on the cover is a let down).
For those like me who enjoy a good BDSM negotiation, you'll be happy: Our heroine is having a rough patch but she's no push over & she keeps her spine straight till the very end. Hooray! The hero is complex & multilayered.
We have a bit of philosophical reflexion braided in the story & also some psychology tidbits about modern humans & the dating world. I was never bored.
PS : There's a lot of butt stuff happening which is not my thing at all when it comes to heterosexual romance but at least we got given a valid reason for why a dom would enjoy it. Point taken but I'm still NOT interested. 😬

A very spicy kinky novel, so please be aware of possible triggers.
The book is written alternately from the viewpoint of Valentino and Ava, which makes it a great read.

This book can be read as a very spicy read and leave it at that, but there is more under the surface, loss, hurt, need, sadness and love.
In my opinion, this book could have been more about BDSM and the underlying currents throughout the book and less about kinky sex, which a lot of people think BDSM is.

At about 80 percent of the book it finally went a little deeper into the origins of both their kinks and underlying fears and feelings, I wished that would have started sooner.

But all in all, a very spicy kinky read and I loved reading it!

cliche and easily predictable with practically no plot. it's very old fashioned, contractual, text book BDSM. It almost felt like the author watched The Secretary and then deemed themselves a "professional." The writing was flat and repetitive, every scene felt the same. a few quotable lines but I could have DNFd this book at 50% like I considered doing and could have guessed the ending to a tea.
1) who the F--- goes on a banging spree for a week because thats the week your wife died? not only does that just rub me the wrong way, but it's disrespectful af.
2) WHO THE F---- ASKS A CHILD YOU'VE SPOKEN TO 1 TIME TO BRING YOU A REMOTE TO VIBRATING UNDERWEAR. AUTHOR - THIS IS NOT OKAY. 🤮

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 5/5 ————> If you’re in the mood for more smut than plot…this is for you. She’s broke as a joke, couch surfing, thinking her life is at rock bottom. She’s considering becoming a sugar baby. opportunity strikes and Valentino offers her a week long contract (to be his sex slave) for one week.

The only reason this one wasn’t 5⭐️s is because the ending was so predictable. So predictable. However, that being said, it was a still a good ending. A HEA.

The smut was good good. Lots of scenes of BDSM. Master/Slave aspect runs through basically the whole read. They’re adventurous in this, let’s just say that.

You’ll get:

• BDSM- Master/slave

• Broke girl | rich guy

• Emotionally unstable MMC

• He falls first

This was such a great book. Just by reading at the synopsis, I knew I was getting into some dark and wicked stuff.
But you know what was the most surprising thing?
Me, being willing to sign up for a deal like that? Nop. (Should I be worried about that? I will deal with this question later on my own)
It was that the plot, underneath that much spice, was so good.
The book has amazing quotes. It dives into psychology, philosophy, addiction, and other subjects I did not expect.
I would totally recommend this book to anyone. I was so excited to hear I was going to be doing the review of the ARC for it. But be understanding. All these opinions are my own.

*ARC review* first, thank you to the author for the arc! This book was deliciously good! I immediately fell for the mmc Valentino!!

Ava is struggling after leaving a long term relationship and is couch surfing while working a part time job. She’s trying to get back on her feet but it feels almost impossible….. that is until she receives the opportunity of a lifetime. Valentino, a wealthy man offers her $50k for one week to be his Valentines Slave. Bringing these 2 broken people together in the best way possible! It was a quick read with a good plot and character chemistry. I devoured this book in one sitting. The smut was *chefs kiss*

ARC READ HAD AN ACCIDENT BUT I CAN FINALLY WRITE MY REVIEW!!

Please check trigger warnings ******

OH.MY. I was literally getting hooked 10 pages in I couldn't even put it down. My dirty little valentine is now one of my favorite lines from the book.

Ava literally makes me laugh so much especially at the beginning by her stubbornness and the way she asks questions.

Now Valentino oh my can i have him in real life ?

They are both broken people but they fit so well together it's crazy.
I want to go so much more in detail but you just need to read it I do not want to give spoilers 🤐🤐

I am excited for more from this author!

I ARC read this in approximately 3 hours. It was so good. 4.8/5 ⭐️

Sometimes you just need a book with a lot of smut and not a lot of plot, and this satisfied that for me. Probably 80/20 smut to plot ratio. But the plot is *chefs kiss*.
It is the fast-paced, dark romance of your Valentines dreams. 🩷🩷🩷

We watch Ava struggle in her daily life, and Valentino sees it too. The fact that she is so overcome with emotional trauma doesn’t sit right with him, even if he does have some baggage of his own. They work through it together over the course of a week; she is his sex slave for $50,000.

This wasn't my favorite... I kept waiting for it to be over. It was full of plenty of hot smut, but the story itself was just so-so. I'm honestly giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the AMAZING taste in music. I swear I got the biggest smile on my face every time BMTH was mentioned, and then Hollywood undead... Those were the times I could actually feel myself connecting with the characters. I guess I did enjoy the end.

Spoiler:

I liked how she still went on with her life and didn't let the sadness of it all being over consume her. It made the fact that he goes after her and gets her back all the better, in my opinion.

If you're sensitive and have any triggers don't reach for this book!!!

If you want a romance with happily ever after this one should be just fine. There is almost no plot, but i doubt that you'll reach for this book to search for plot. It almost all smut, which I would say is hot (surprising use or lollipop ;) ). It does what it supposed to.

Not surprisingly he looks like Greek god and she's full of insecurities about her body.

It's short, you should be able to read it in one go.
