There’s something I find completely irresistible about the Manhattan men. They’re aloof playboys, but once their hearts are engaged, they’re all in. I think it’s in that “all in” stage where I love them the most. And, at the start of this story, Nico is an unrepentant playboy, absolutely certain that no woman would be able to breach his defenses. Isla’s carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, or at least that’s the way it felt. Could one night out of time with a handsome stranger be the start of something magical or the end of life as she knew it? This story has all the magic of a second chance without being, strictly speaking, a second chance for Nico and Isla. There was so much chemistry between these two. It didn’t matter if they were fighting or making up, the sparks flew. I loved this pair together, and I loved seeing the Manhattan matriarch play accidental matchmaker. I can’t wait to read whoever’s next to be hit by Cupid’s arrow.

This is book nine in A Manhattan Men Novel series and it is Nico and Isla’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Nico and Isla have history as they used to be great friends until Isla’s father died and her mother moved her and her sister away to New Jersey so they ended up losing touch with each other and now Isla is a underwriter and starting a new job not knowing that Nico is her boss. Nico and Isla meet again at a New Year’s Eve party and Isla was wearing a wig so he didn’t recognise but he was instantly attracted and drawn to her and they ended up having a explosive night together only for Isla to disappear before he woke up the next morning and Nico doesn’t know who she is and she wanted to keep it that way and hopefully he will not find out who he slept with as it would cause a distraction and complications which she doesn’t have time for. The attraction and chemistry between Nico and Isla is off the charts hot and strong but due to Nico’s past he didn’t do relationships or commitments and he definitely didn’t do or want children so when he got Isla pregnant it caused Nico to do and say things really hurtful and bad and then he walked away leaving Isla devastated and hurt but will Nico realise his mistakes in time and before it is too and make things right or will it be too late leaving him missing out n something so special along with a future with Isla and a family. Wow I absolutely love this series so much as I have read every single book but I have to say that this book was definitely one of my favourite stories. This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as Nico and Isla make some difficult decisions and it will have you turning the pages because you are unable to put it down as it is so addictive. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

Good Book workplace romance.
Nico Manhattan is a rich eligible playboy who likes his life and the women he takes to his bed, at a masquerade ball he sees a woman with gorgeous blue eyes that remind him of someone he once knew however this woman is blonde and the woman he knew had red hair.
Isla is at the ball and this is not her normal life so she plans to make the most of it and she dances with Nico and one thing leads to another and she goes to his suite.
Then Isla leaves in the middle of the night knowing this isn’t the start of a relationship and these events aren’t her real life.
However when she starts her new job her new boss is Nico and he instantly thinks she is the woman from that night but it can’t be as she isn’t blonde they do realise they were friends in high school and their mothers were good friends.
He just can’t shift the nagging feeling he knows her from that night and she eventually tells him she is that woman when he asks her.
They were supposed to be friends with benefits but feelings get messed and Isla discovers she is pregnant.
Nico says some awful things when she tells him she is pregnant, things he should never have said but he is scared as he doesn’t want to be a failure like his own father and that’s why he never wanted kids.
Personally I think she forgave him far too quickly for the awful things he said, I did love them both as a couple and he did redeem himself and their relationship grew.
It seemed weird for me at the end that Christie and Joseph weren’t there and although she said friends and family I expected her to mention Christie had she been there.
This is a good romance with a little bit of anxt thrown in for good measure but an all round good read.

Nico/Isla Their chemistry is hot hot hot! Even with Nico's confusion about love and relationships, this HEA is steamy and breathtaking! She was his high school sweetheart; she was 16 when he saw her last. First he meets her at the Ball his Mom makes him and his 5 brothers go to every year. He thinks she looks familiar but the long blonde hair throws him off, he has a one night stand, she is too irresistible. On Tuesday he finds out his Mom sent a new hire, one of her best friends daughters. He recognizes she's his high school sweetheart, never places her as his one night stand from the Ball. She does but never says a word to him, she is embarrassed because she'd never had a one night stand. This guy doesn't understand relationships or love at all. He's been a playboy, all his adult life, doesn’t stay with a girl over a day or two. When she becomes pregnant from that one night stand, all hell breaks loose! He tells her the baby isn't his, she's a gold digger, she's trying to trick him and get his money! Boy, is his Mom disappointed in him, she knows Isla isn't like that and he knows it too! Will she hear his apology? Will she forgive? Will she take him back? She's disappointed in him too. Another Manhattan Man that keeps you on your toes from beginning till the end! Thank you Jacob for another 5 star in my opinion!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "MR. PERSISTENT PLAYBOY" I thoroughly enjoy the Manhattan Series watching each man fall from their playboy ways this one has emotional turmoil, past baggage,
very steamy scenes, second chances, old crushes, surprises, humor, angst, drama, twists that has you turning the pages.
Nico spots a beautiful blonde at his parents Masquerade New Years Party masked & desguised no names & a hot steamy one night stand its been years since they've been together when younger they both had a crush on each other in highschool but didn't act on it, he's a playboy who doesn't want a family he has past issues but she on the other hand can't wait to start a a family.

Well, where do I start! This is book 9 of a manhattan Men series. This story is about Isla and Nico. They both went to high school together and then lost touch when she was 16. Their mothers were good friends. Nicos mother makes him and his 5 brothers attend a masquerade ball every year, this particular year he meets a blonde bombshell with the most captivating blue eyes he's ever seen. It reminded him of his childhood sweetheart but she had bright red hair. He gravitates to her on the dance floor and the chemistry is unreadable. They share a steamy night together and she leaves in the middle of the night. Nico wakes in the morning in his hotel suite all alone. Isla starts a new job and her new boss just happens to be Nico. They are both shocked to see each other. She later admits she was his blonde bombshell from the ball. They become friends with benefits and later she finds out she's pregnant. He tells her that it isn't his baby and that she's using him to get to his money. She's furious at his words and leaves. Will they work out their differences or will Isla be a single mother. You will have to read this book to find out.
It's a very good book and I couldn't put it down.

A beautiful story!
Very uplifting story,well written.Isla is a type of women who wants to earn her way a if something or someone gets in her way,she gets up dust her self and goes with plan b. No one walks all over her! Nico is rich and she had crush on him back in high school,they didn't see each other much later.Nico has low self esteem when it comes to being a good father considering his own father was a jerk and not being there for him and his brothers.He decides he doesn't want to be a father or kids! But after one hook up Isla finds out she is pregnant and she knows it his but he makes her feel bad and he says hurtful things,she doesn't trust him now. He does alot thinking and now thinks he could change and maybe there may be hope and he trys to talk to Isla about it,but he really hurt her ,but he isn't giving up and she decides to give it a chance and things do work out well! Please read this story! Now here is my gripe! If a man doesn't want kids why doesn't he suit up! I know the moment got away,they had sex more than once guys, he could of got snip if he was really serious! But the story wouldn't be has good if he did the last thing!

This is book nine and an interconnected standalone of the “Manhattan Men” series.
I loved that Nico and Isla knew each other from when they were younger but parted ways. I loved both ways their paths met after years apart too! I loved that Nico couldn’t get enough of Isla, but wanted to shake some sense into him when the big conflict arose. He almost caused me to not like him anymore, but he completely stole my heart with his redemption!
Isla had my heart and support from the first moment I met her. She was definitely a sweet, caring and selfless woman! My favorite thing about her was how she didn’t take crap from anyone, not even Nico. I love a strong heroine and Isla delivered.
I am hoping that we find out what happens with Nico’s brother and see more of Nico and Isla in the coming books!

Another great Manhattan Man love story!
Nico and Isla’s story is full of nostalgia from the past and a hook-up at a masquerade ball with feelings of deja vu of knowing the other person, then later realizing it’s the person you just had a hook-up with is that same person. Realization forms when Isla starts a new job at Nico’s Manhattan Family Insurance firm. It takes him awhile to realize it’s her, too. Avoiding being together under the self-inflicted no getting involved with employees rule, they eventually can’t resist each other, but Nico has beg relationship hang-ups. He’s always been a playboy. It’s a slow burn for a short period of time. When something major happens and she tells him, he lashes out at her with horrible accusations. Can she ever get past all that? It’s a road I enjoyed going on with these two characters.

Nico is a well known playboy so hooking up with a beautiful woman at the family New Years eve masquerade ball isn't unusual. When she has disappeared when he wakes up is though.
Isla has never had a one night stand until new years eve but she left when he fell asleep. But now she works for him at the Manhattan insurance business.
They knew each other from high school until she had to move away. Now the chemistry between them is off the charts but there is an unwritten rule about no fraternization in the company.
I loved how they were together and the chemistry is so hot between them but when she finds out that she is pregnant he says some hateful things.
Can they come back from this?

This is the latest in the Manhattan series, it can be read as a stand alone but with provide greater enjoyment if read as part of the set as some of the characters appear in earlier books. This is Nico’s story and starts at a masquerade ball on New Years Eve, Nico the classic player, is looking for a woman to warm his bed for the anew Tear, nothing more and hooks up with a woman who leaves before he gets her name, let alone her number! Usually, just how he likes things. because of how his father was Nico has decided he never wants a relationship, let alone a family, then a girl he used to know at high school comes to work for the family firm and he starts to think she could be worth breaking some rules for, starting with his mothers one about not sleeping with the employees…a great story from the start and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I received this as an ARC.

When Isla tells Nico she is pregnant the fireworks start with Nico being unbelievably cruel but Isla holds her own showing her maturity, and strength of character.
Nico has some heavy baggage which relates back to how his father was. With his straight talking mother giving him a talking to he eventually realises his mistakes.
Another great story in this series, emotional at times, especially when they get back together.

Nico & Isla grew up together. They both had crushes, but never moved forward with them. Fast forward to adulthood, and Nico is ready to score at his family's masked ball...he finds a stunning blond, has a good time, but then she disappears. A few days later, Isla gets a job at Nico's insurance company. She recognizes him right away, but it takes him a while, since she was well disguised. The no fraternization rule gets in their way - unrequited love turned one night stand is too much to pass up. Then the unthinkable happens - and Nico has to decide to hang up his bachelor hat for good. Really cute story, great slow burn.

The dynamic between the two of them was so real. Nico, the playboy, never wants a family because of his past. Isla, the loving sister, who can't wait to start her own family someday. Something had to give in this relationship.
The story is sad and romantic and very steamy. You will enjoy this next chapter in the Manhattan Men drama!

This book is absolutely fantastic and will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end. Nico doesn't believe in settling down or in love or soulmates but one night stand at masquerade ball with a stranger could possibly change his mind? Isla is starting a new job and gets invited to a a masquerade ball but adds a wig to change her appearance but when she starts her new job it's with the man she can't forget and now is off limits but will he remember her? Or in tge end destroy her heart and leave her with a surprise pregnancy? Great story and you could connect with the characters emotions and Heartbreak and pain. Just love them together.

So for some reason she believes he is going to start behaving better.
I have no idea why.
Every nasty person has very valid reasons, to them, for being nasty.
I don't care what his father did or how his mother struggled, using that as an excuse is still toxic.
Wasn't convinced he loved her, he treated her like something part time, that he didn't have to make an effort for except lament his choices.
Remember ladies, an anecdotal moment will never prove long term commitment. Sad, I though Isla was worth more than a paint job, ie sanitising what he did.

Until that one New Year's Eve night and a masquerade ball and what was supposed to be a one night fling completely changed his life. Great read loved everything about it. I'm hoping we'll see more of the Manhattan Men. There are still a few single brothers. I'm real curious to see what happens to Randal.
Oh did I fail to mention how much I love their mother Anne.

Nico and Ilsa are attracted to each other and have a one-night stand at a masquerade ball. They don't even exchange names. She leaves when he falls asleep, never expecting to see him again. When she shows up for an underwriter job at Manhattan Insurance Company, he is her boss. She recognizes him from high school and the one-night stand. He remembers her from high school, but not from the ball because she had been wearing a wig. Things heat up from there, but problems arise. Will they get their HEA? You simply must read this book to find out.

The Manhattan Men are at it again!
Second chance romance at its best. Isla and Nico were simply the sweetest couple out there. The surprise pregnancy was well written and fit their story perfectly.
Nico’s brothers being both the movers of the story and some comedic element brought levity and humour to this story! (I need Randall’s story now.)
There was so much I felt could have been expanded on… who’s Christie’s baby daddy? And even more into Edward’s House.
But even without getting the extra information I wanted this one was still a home run!

Overall I enjoyed the characters and the story. At first it felt a little stiff and was hard to connect but as I got to know them that came easier and it started to flow. Nico and Isla were friends in high school so they have that connection there. They have good spice, a pull to each other, ups and downs and moments that Nico made me crazy! I did really like Isla, she's dedicated, smart, and a strong woman. It's another enjoyable read!

Nico and Isla meet on New Year's Eve at a ball and have one night together, not realizing they already knew each other from high school. Isla starts working at Nico's company after having to move to help her sister, who is pregnant and unable to work. When she realizes that it was Nico that she slept with at the ball and keeps it as a secret after Nico doesn't recognize her. Their chemistry brings them together on more than one occasion. I love how Isla learns to trust Nico even after all they go through.

Another great Manhattan Men book by this amazing author. This book is a very entertaining, well written story of Nico, the bachelor, and Manhattan man we thought would never find his equal and Isla, who is definitely his match! These two knew each other when they were very young, and ran into each other in a unique way. Their chemistry is definitely hot!
Characters are very well developed and written in such a way that you feel you’re actually there, watching these two interact.

Book 9 in the Manhattan Man series and can be read as an interconnected standalone. This is Nico and Isla’s story. They knew each other when they were younger but they parted ways. When they meet up again, Nico can’t seem to get enough of Isla. She is like a drug to him, and he needs to have her. The chemistry between the characters will heat up your kindle. Although they have an intense chemistry between them, there are other issues that they must face before they can finally have the HEA that they should have had years ago. Very good read

Another wonderful story from Jacob Parker. It is well written with a great storyline and amazing characters. The will grab you from the beginning. Nico and Islamic knew each other from high school. They met again at a masquerade ball but didn’t realize who each other was until later when Isla begins work at Nico’s family business. He’s her boss! The story pulls you in further with this knowledge and a surprise. I loved seeing their relationship develop, even though Nico almost ruins it. Thank goodness for family and friends to help you out. This definitely a must read.

Having been top notch in her other jobs Isla was able to adjust to Nico’s company well.
What she couldn’t adjust to was Nico’s demeanor towards her. He was hot and cold with her.
So she began to mirror his actions.

I received this book as an arc member give my thoughts of own free will . Such a page turner . Nico in high school had a serious crush on isla but she moved away years they meet at a ball where they wore masks after a amazing one night stand neither one can get each other off theirs minds but not sure who it was until meets again at his business she gets hired at . Can it work ? Nico makes a horrible verbal mistake can he make correct it ? Loved it must read .
