The Haunted Clubhouse was pretty much standard Wishbone Mysteries fare--light, easy reading, that both owes a lot to old-school Scooby-Doo episodes and has a connection with classic literature--with one key exception: one scene involves the holding of a séance. For that reason, I can't recommend this to youngsters, but, for teens and adults who enjoy kiddie whodunits, this is great.

This book had a lot of twist and turns and it kept my interest throughout.

This was the fourth five-star Wishbone book that I have read of the ones that I own. I did not see the ending coming which made it perfect.

Joe wins a clubhouse from a raffle. But before he can get it to his house the truck messes up. Then somebody or something is leaving notes and tape recorders telling them to get out of the clubhouse. Joe does not believe in ghosts even though Wanda his neighbor does a seance trying to get the ghost there.

He finds one of his dad's old books that was packed up in the attic and starts reading it which helps him solve the mystery. He thought it was the one person who thought they would be kicked out since they're new to town and they're technically younger than Joe and his friends. However that was not the case and Joe still let them there because that's not who he is.

The mystery was thought soft however there was a twist which I did not see coming as I said which gave this book a better rating. The person faked an illness because they had wanted the clubhouse they had gotten more tickets yet Joe who only bought one won it.

I also thought the kitten that kept tagging along with Wishbone was adorable.

The Haunted Clubhouse, a Wishbone Mystery book by Caroline Leavitt brought back fond memories of the Wishbone television series characters. I didn’t remember that Wishbone’s owner, Joe Talbot, is 14. I always thought he was younger. My protagonists are 13 or 14 in my YA adventure stories.

Leavitt kept the tension up in this teen mystery till the very end. It was clever how Leavitt tied in literature in The Haunted Clubhouse plot. If you remember, The Wishbone television series dealt with literature stories. In Clubhouse, Leavitt uses an Agatha Christie mystery, Ten Little Indians, to help Joe figure out the present story mystery. I was surprised, though, that they gave away the ending to Christie’s classic mystery. The Haunted Clubhouse, a Wishbone Mystery book by Caroline Leavitt is a fun read.

This was a good book they did ghost hunting and other cool things. Also they Joe had so much fun reading a book and hanging out with his best buddy Wishbone. A little girl was doing the hauntings because she wanted to be part of the group but once they found out it was her the haunting still continued. They later found out that it was this mean kid named Damont, and then after they found out they put an end to it.

Having seen snippets of the Wishbone TV show when I was younger, when I found out there were chapter books I was immediately intrigued. I picked up #2 and #21 at a used book store.
Overall, I’d give this book a 4-star rating. It was very easy reading, and some characters seemed quite flat, which is typical for a kid’s chapter book. I probably would’ve enjoyed it more at age 8 or 9 instead of 15, but this was still a fun read.

It was very funny because the characters thought that it was a ghost but it was not a ghost! It was a human! I thought it was funny that the dog Wishbone talks in the story! So, I thought that it was a good book!

My favourite part was when they found out ho was actually being the two ghosts. My least favourite part was when the clubhouse was crushed by a falling tree, but at least everyone made it out of the clubhouse safely.

As with the other Wishbone book I read, I found the story dragged, was boring and this books seemed more focussed on describing an Agatha Christy novel that focusing on moving the storyline along following this books own path. I think it is safe to say I am not a fan of this series 😔

I loved it! Wishbone goes with Joe to a raffle for a free clubhouse, and they win! Their friend Wanda takes a picture of the group, and the group is Wishbone, (dog) Pixie( A kitten), Henrietta, Bobby, Sam, and David. Their friend Wanda takes a picture of them in front of the clubhouse. When they looked in the picture they see a face. Later a voice yells at them : GET OUT! They wonder if it is a ghost or a living person, also. What do you think? Why? Read it, and you will find out!

I really liked this book because it talked about a boy and his dog that thought the clubhouse was haunted but it wasn't. Then they went searching for another boy and they thought it was him but it really wasn't.

I have read The Haunted Clubhouse. Written by corine Leavitt. The story takes place in the forest an a Sunday night in an abandoned clubhouse. 3 boys named Joe, Sam and David follow wishbone through the forest that puts all three boys including wishbone in danger.Wishbone falls through a trap and the boys follow quickly after. All four are trapped together and depend on wishbone to get them out.

I would recommend This book is full of action and suspense. It keeps the reader on the edge of their seats in suspence I enjoyed this book because it was funny and full of suspense but it because it was very long. I give it 3 stars.
