I’ve enjoyed this series so far, the four horsemen/horsewoman of the apocalypse in a modern day setting. Bones is the final book in the series, following Aurora and Deke’s story.
Plot
⭐️⭐️⭐️
A traumatised girl escaping a religious cult meets her fate destined mate who just so happens to be Famine, of the four horsemen of the apocalypse fame.
Aurora and Deke (the artist formally known as Famine) have to team up with his siblings and their mates, who he has been separated from for hundreds of years, to take down a mysterious group who are stealing the souls of unsuspecting mortals.
LOVED the family reunion scene. My favourite part of the whole book.
Little disappointed in the ending, it felt a bit anti climatic after a four book build up but I’m glad things worked out the way they did.
Main Characters
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every girl escaping a violent ex and religious cult should automatically be entitled to their own Deke. What a sweetheart.
After spending centuries searching for his siblings and his mate, Deke had finally given up hope. He’s just out in the woods running his restaurants and feeding the poor, until Aurora, quite literally, runs into him. He’s so kind, patient and protective and just the right amount of possessive to help Aurora heal.
Aurora’s growth was just a joy to read. I spent the whole time I was reading cheering her on. I love how the first time she spoke words to Deke were to tell him off and how in such a short time he’d made her feel comfortable and confident enough to do so. She’d been through so much and her HEA was very much deserved.

Loved the scenes with the fam. Juno, you will always have my heart, one star just for your inclusion. Really enjoyed the family dynamic the author has created in this series and I’m glad Aurora came to feel that she had people looking out for her. So happy for Deke to have his siblings back after so many years of waiting, the curse really did do him the dirtiest.
Did I love reading about one of the four horsemen making TikTok references at inopportune times, big fat yes. Would I confiscate all his devices if I had to spend time with him in real life, oh absolutely!
Would liked to have seen more of the fallen angels and their story, the epic conclusion lasted all of about three pages.
Bonus points for Levi (my second favourite character in this series) but I feel like we missed out on Michael, wanted to see more.
World/Setting
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
A cabin in the woods in Maine. Yes please.
A (formerly) haunted house in Salem. Dreams.
A comic book store/candy shop. Where do I apply?
Ignore the uber religious, mentally insane religious cult out to steal souls and I would run and jump headfirst into this setting.

Not my favourite book from this series (Juno and Stellan, take a bow) but really enjoyed.
