The Stratford Saga #2

A Universe Against Us

Rate this book
One hope. One demand. One option.
The children of the Stratford were free from the shackles of their adults, but Ceri and her crew had only solved one problem. The biggest one remained—how to deliver their sleeping passengers to the colony planet that awaited them.
This situation weighed on everyone, but no more heavily than it did on Ceri. With no way to repair the Stratford’s navigation system, her dream was lost.
Then, contact.
A ship, the Devant, replies to their emergency beacon. Their chief engineer offers a means to Ceri’s desires, but the Devant’s commander demands a price too steep to pay—total obedience to a new set of adults.
Will Ceri once again bow to adults to give the Stratford’s passengers their dream, or will she become the leader her crew wants her to be and fight?

This second book in the Stratford Saga is action packed and an entertaining read. It continues the story of the young adults aboard the Stratford and the conflict they encounter when another ship answers their distress call.

The author does a great job in creating both likable and despicable characters. The conflict and action in this book make for some tense, edge of your seat moments, and you find yourself hoping that the conflict will be resolved and everyone can get what they need to meet their goals. Whether or not that happens, you’ll have to read to find out.

Overall, this is a great YA sci fi read, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

They have escaped the adults and now she needs to get the ship to a new place to live. The ship is having issues and she will get a call which may help them but it means being under the control of adults again. What will she do? Will she give it all up for the help? See what she will do

This novel has some of everything to capture the imagination of science fiction fans. The colony ship has sent out a distress call, which has been answered. Now there is intense drama as the remnants of humanity make the tough decisions to ensure our survival.

Not only that, but a virus is running rampant on the enclosed ships. And each ship has limited resources. The problems stack up quickly leading to fun drama and mysteries on every page.

Marc B. DeGeorge creates realistic characters that made me feel for their struggles. More than the strengths, he does a great job at showcases their human weaknesses.
