There is just no way to describe how much I enjoyed this story line. It grabbed me from the opening sentence until the final word. If you are looking for a read that holds no punches and tells it exactly how it is no chaser then you have to check this one out.... or all I can say is FML
This book had my emotions all over the place! This book is not only gritty but it's also inspiring. It open my eyes to how parental neglect could force you into a life of pure hell..After reading this book. I didn't know rather I wanted to go bitch slap somebody or stalk the hell out of Morris Chestnut.

this was a great read but sad for me too and I liked the main character she was a go getter by any means necessary for her brothers............keep doing your thang mimi
Authoress Mimi Ray's writing does something that many novelist have neglected to do in quite some time and that's connect with the audience on a personal level. It's not until the main character, "Tasha" addresses herself by the name that the reader begins to build rapport; but from the prologue you are instantly sympathetic towards her. Or in my case, empathetic. Tasha's way of living (Though a saddened introspect when you think deeply upon it.) is similar to many women living in the city used for this story. And Authoress Mimi Ray uses this to bring the story to life. Somehow you find yourself agreeing with the main character or wishing that you knew her. And saddened that the story ended so briefly.
PROS:
This book is easy to read and will be addictive to anyone who favors Urban Literature. If you are a fan of Candice Dowe; you'll love this novel. The story flows swiftly and is broken down into chronological order, so there is no way to feel lost or confused in the story line.
CONS:
There are a few grammatical errors, however the story still managed to flow flawlessly. And considering the personality and dialect of the character; it is considered to be intentional.
Do I regret purchasing this book? No.
Will I purchase anymore of this author's work? Oh, yes.

This book will keep your interest. The story has real potential to go in a few different directions and while I am interested to see where it will go, I am not pressed to buy the next part on the day it is released. The editor missed a few things but it didn't take away from the story too much. Tasha is your typical victim of her surroundings, just trying to make it in the hood teen that is responsible for her siblings. The going back and forth with her feelings and intentions wore on my nerves a bit, but I had to remember her age and realize that she was only playing at being grown
I purchased this book after seeing friend promote it on Facebook. I read this in one sitting I could not put the book down because I didn't know what to expect next and I have to admit some of this book was so heartbreaking but you are still compelled to follow the story. I can not wait for book 2 to follow Tasha and her brother's journey to find out where they will end up next...
I truly enjoyed this book from start to finish. It held my attention and it was fast pace. Tasha was having to live an adult life because the hands that life dealt her. I was just wondering why every man she dated died. Can't wait for part 2 so many unanswered questions that I need answered.
I liked this book, it was an interesting read. A young girl forced to grow up at an early age. Being a mother to her younger brothers she did what she had to do to provide but somewhere along the way she lost her focus and herself. This story touched on a couple of different subjects. I will definitely be reading part 2.
Good book this title totally explains what this poor girls life was all about. I can't wait to read book 2 this was a breath of fresh air. I felt so sorry for poor Tasha she had such a hard life and it was has hard and she had hoeish ways!
Tasha was a child in a grown woman's body. She was forced to grow up too soon because of circumstances beyond her control. She did the best she could, but it still wasn't good enough. She used what she had to get what she wanted.
