Overall, the author provides a good high level overview of project management considerations. There are some formatting and typographical issues (Mangement in the Chapter 3 header). Could a project manager hit the ground running using the information in this book? No. However, the author provides sufficient information to point the future project manager in the right direction to find additional resources and templates on specific topics in greater detail.
I have an upcoming project at work, and my last project did not go well. So, I downloaded Project Management Essentials by Srinath Kota to provide some tips that hopefully would get it going in the right direction and keep it on track. This ten-chapter book begins with the project initiation and ends with new trends in project management. The chapter that I got the most out of was Budgets and Cost Control. This was the core issue in my last project, and I think I now have some tools to keep my project on track. While a powerful resource, this book had issues. At USD 4.99, I would have expected a little more. There were no examples or guides. “This is how you start a project. Step one…” “Let’s look at project A. It started with B, and then C happened as a result.” Overall, it reads more like a Wikipedia article on project management than a textbook intended to guide people toward successful projects. I still recommend this book because it helped me out.
“Project Management Essentials: Strategies for Success” by Srinath Kota is a concise, 130-page guide that offers practical advice for project managers. I enjoyed Kota’s clear emphasis on strategic planning and risk management. The book covers essential topics such as project initiation, execution, and closing, making it a wide-ranging guide, and the real-world examples and actionable steps are particularly useful.. I would recommend this book to readers who are looking to enhance their project management outcomes.
A concise yet comprehensive guide, this book has real-world examples and clear explanations. It navigates through the complexities of project management, making it an invaluable resource. Insightful, educational, and practical.
This guide was timely, relevant, and simplistic. Easy to follow language kept me engaged with the information and was relevant to my line of work. Learning more on the concepts, such as scope creep, was especially revealing. Highly recommend.
