Whew!!!!!!! This book is messy as hell but soooooooo damn good. There's nothing wrong with growing out of a relationship and leaving. The problem is when you listen to and allow a scandalous and fake ass friend who's been trying to screw to screw your man behind your back. Lexi was a damn snake and Cynn was a damn fool to listen to her. Cynn had no clue that Lexi didn't like Larenz because he wouldn't f**k her. Cynn was wrong on so many levels for how she did Larenz. Larenz may have been four years younger than her but he was very mature. Worked two jobs to take care of Cynn and their son but that wasn't good enough for her. She allowed Lexi to get into her head.I knew hooking up with Bombay was going to be her Karma. Cheating on Larenz and the way she ended their relationship was trifling asf on her part. Larenz family couldn't stand Cynn and I understood why. He went to war with his family over her. Only for Cynn to constantly do him dirty. Any sister will have their brother back but Kelly was doing to much. She was too involved with Cynn and Larenz business and started a lot bs. She need to mind her own business. She have a baby by a married man, a husband she won't live with because she still screwing her baby daddy. Cynn was so smitten with Bombay that she overlooked his controlling and disrespectful ways he showed from the beginning. How he treated London should've gave her a clue on how her relationship was going to go with Bombay. Now London was wrong for how she came to Cynn. London anger should've been directed towards Bombay disrespectful ass. I'm not even mad at Cynn for putting hands on London. Cynn learned the hard way about Bombay. He started dragging her through the mud. He didn't hide the fact he was still screwing London. Bombay wasn't just disrespectful. He became abusive as well. Cynn kept running back to Larenz and he kept accepting her back with open arms because he didn't want to see her hurt. Larenz still love Cynn but he knew he couldn't keep allowing her to run to him only to go back to Bombay because he was also in a relationship. Larenz and Ximena relationship was weird. Ximena tried too hard and was obsessed with Cynn. Her and Larenz arguments was always about Cynn. Yes she had a right to be worried because even she knew the bond Larenz and Cynn had she couldn't compete with. I knew Ximena was going to push Larenz away. She was doing too much. Setting Cynn up to go to jail and wishing death on her was something Larenz wasn't dealing with. Ximena knew he hated drama but her trying to control a situation she had no control over ended their relationship. I knew the moment London set her sights on Larenz. She was going to be up to no good. London was jealous of Cynn and she knew getting with Larenz would be her ultimate revenge. When Larenz call Bombay a b***h. He was correct. The way he set Cynn up was a b***h move. Cynn lost five years of her freedom because of him and had to have her daughter while in prison. I applaud the hell out of Larenz. He have always been a great father. How he came up was even better. Larenz is very intelligent. I was shocked when he ended up getting with London. He knew damn well that she was Cynn enemy and she wasn't going to take the news well once she got out of prison and she definitely didn't. One thing Cynn said to Larenz about London is true but he don't want to believe it and that he dont know London like she do. Larenz think he knows London but he have no clue how scandalous she is. Ooh wee! Couldn’t stop reading this book!
Wow and wow! Kia did her thing with this one! Per usual of course.
You will meet Cynne a young mother who is on the path of self destruction. She has a darn good man (Larenz) but she doesn’t appreciate him or his efforts to make a home for them and their baby Lonny.
Listening to her got to trot “friend” Lexi, Cynne follows up under her to get a man with big bucks to spend on her and live the extravagant life. When Cynne meets and entertains Bombay, she basically said to hell with her baby dad Larenz and her son and wanted to be with Bombay.
But she soon finds out the grass ain’t always greener on the other side. While Bombay is ballin’ with the cash and lifestyle, he is a narcissistic jerk who manipulated Cynne to end things with Larenz and become “his girl!”
Cynne’s life becomes a living nightmare with Bombay. From physical abuse, cheating and then a set up that ultimately landed her in prison for 5 years, she finally wakes up and sees the monster that Bombay really is and realizes that she had the right one all along with Larenz. But is it too late to rekindle?
Larenz came up big from his days of busting his tail working two jobs to now being that guy with a chain of car repair shops also while dabbling in street business. He’s that guy now and he realizes his worth and isn’t willing to just keep playing the back while Cynne decides what she wants. Although he has moved on with Cynne’s bigger OPP, London ( Bombays ex and Larenz’s current fiancée and mother of their daughter) there is still something between him and Cynne.
I loved this book so so much! Cynne made me sick with her poor judgement calls and how she said screw Larenz and Lonny In the beginning to be with Bombay’s trash self. Larenz road for her always even through she didn’t deserve it at all.
I can’t wait for part 2! Will London’s dirty little secret get back to Larenz? Will Larenz and Cynne become an item again? Excellent read and I loved it from beginning to end! 10/10 stars

Lawdamercyyyy! Whew! I wanted to kick Cynne butt all over Texas my darn self! She was doing too much and for what?! Money and popularity! I honestly don't think she deserves Larenz but God knows your heart wants what it wants and no matter how hard they try to stay away from each other, it NEVER works! Lexi been foul all this time and I don't know why for the life of Cynne, she couldn't see it! Normally, the ones dogging your people be holding in secret lust for them. She had to learn it the hard way! Bombay was a dirty dog who only wanted his cake and eat it too! From first drop, he put his hands off me, he would have met his maker! The nerve of him to be hitting on people! Then Cynne naive tail sucked it up for every time hurting the one person who always had her back. I get why his family is mad but they need to give it up. Larenz is a grown man and if they knew what they should know about him, they would tread lightly! Cherry seems to be the only one who has some lick of sense! Man, my mouth was to the floor when I saw who Larenz done moved on with. I don't care what he thought she did for him as love, there's NO way she should have been an option! Then, she overstepping her role talking about she don't want that woman in her own kids' lives and she can't even stand the.. Sis is DELUSIONAL! Ohhhh, but when them secrets start spilling, she gone wish she NEVER concocted that plan against Cynne! Something tells me Cynne's overly fertile wombs gone bring forth a next baby! Cynne has a friend Lexi who been in her ear telling her she need to leave Laurenz because he’s broke and blah blah blah. A hatin’ HOE! What does Cynne do? She leaves Laurenz for another guy who is terrible lol & from there things go bad for her.

Ok so… Cynne got on my last nerve! She irked me from page 1 to the end lol Idk what was worse, Larenz not leaving her alone for GOOD or the fact that she thought she could have that old thing back after all the chaos she caused. When an author have you hating a character this deep, they’ve done their job! Larenz character development was EVERYTHING! He instantly became someone I wanted to read more about. I like how the author steadily introduced his transition rather than making things predictable and unrealistic. I was hoping London was the one for him, but she’s another character that has to go! There’s so many secrets, drama and betray taking place and I need part 2 asap! I’m anxious to know what happens next!

I would have given 5 stars but it was too slow at the end it picked up now I want to see what part 2 about. Larenz was a good guy from the start that loved hard. Syn was so naive and trusting of the people in her circle but she was as loyal to the one who really had her back her baby daddy. This was an amazing read from start to finish talking about getting their lick back her baby father looked out double. Great Read Ate the first cynn was trifling but it took her to go through some things to see the error in her ways She shouldn't have let thotiana talk her into cheating so she ended up getting her karma. Honestly didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. This was my first read by this author and I will be digging through her catalog. Cynne was annoying af in the first half but I’m glad she changed. And idk what Larenz say I feel like he fucked with London as get back, it just ain’t no way. Can’t wait for part 2!

Not wear I expected
Cynee was selfish and a user. She made bad decisions every chapter. Larenz had no backbone & he lashed out at anyone who called him out. I didn't like either character. This isn't the series for me. Personal feelings aside, there were lots of mistakes & the book dragged at times. The continuity was off in some places as well

You know an author did a really good job when you be ready to jump through the book and kick ass your damn self. From page 1 Cynne irked my goddamn nerves and I wanted to knock some sense into her plenty of times. But I guess karma caught up to her. This book so messy and it was a lot to take in. The way it ended got me on edge. On to book 2🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️
