Once upon a time, there lived a witch. A kickass, brilliant, dope as hell witch whose magicks inspired fear and envy. Like all classic fairy tales, her story had the usual goodies. Destiny. Adventure. Missing souls. Unfathomable evil, the precarious fate of the entire universe, blah, blah, blah. But let’s get back to that witch with the awesome hair… Fine, it’s me. I’m the all-powerful witch. And, okay, maybe my story isn’t a classic fairy tale. Not unless I missed the part about Little Red delivering comic books and munchies in her basket and Beauty sleeping off two-for-one margarita night. But I do have a soul mate—my very own Charming. Except he’s no prince. He’s a level-headed, by the book, insanely sexy detective. And me? Well, I’m Stoned. Not recommended for readers under the age of 18 thanks to a dirty talking hero, a filthy-minded heroine, and the hot magicks they create. This story starts where Styx leaves off, so although it is a new couple, it is HIGHLY(pun totally intended) recommended they be read in order.

Growing up, Layla Frost used to hide under her blanket with a flashlight to read the Sweet Valley High books she pilfered from her older sister. It wasn’t long before she was reading hidden Harlequins during class at school. This snowballed into pulling all-nighters after the promise of “just one more chapter”.

Her love of reading, especially the romance genre, took root early and has grown immeasurably until it was time to write her own stories.

When she's not writing, Layla Frost is an insomniac with a deep love of iced coffee, tchotchkes, plants, and her hens. She's also the world's okayest mom, but her kids think she's cool... ish.

the four layla frost

Stoned is book two in The Four series by Layla Frost. I fell in love with the first book in this series, Styx, which was Denny and Nate’s story. In it we met Juno, the crazy witch who became Denny’s friend and tried to help her. I have been so looking forward to her story and it did not disappoint. This book was fun, sexy, and yes, suspenseful.

pink and blue hair

Juno Keres owns several stores merged together that she calls Novel Idea. But she is no ordinary store owner. She is a powerful witch. She is also one of “The Four,” Nate’s sister in a sense. The evil group, Absolve, is getting stronger, their quest for power growing. It is the job of “The Four” to defeat them. Except two of their brothers are still missing.

Each of The Four were promised that when the time was right, they would be rewarded with their mate, the person that holds the other half of their soul. Nate had found his in the first book. When Juno’s stores are brutally vandalized and the police are called, she meets Detective Stellan Reddick and one touch and she knows, he’s the one, her other half. Except it seems that perhaps he doesn’t feel the same way! And he is her opposite. Where she is a fun loving witch, he seems like he is a by the book, buttoned up, officer of the law. Yet he wakes her lady parts up in a way she has never experienced before.

Stellan was pretty much married to his job. His last relationship had been three years ago and she gave up on him. So why was it that after one look at the pixie like store owner, he couldn’t think straight. He couldn’t get her off his mind. Her case was baffling, and things just weren’t adding up. But it wasn’t the case he was thinking about, it was her!

Things continue to go wrong for Juno, her powers are going all wonky. And it seems like someone is out to get her, or Stellan, since it always seems to happen when they are together. She is convinced she is putting Stellan in danger but he is convinced that it is his fault. They both feel like it would probably be the right thing to do to walk away. Yet neither are able to let go of what is building between them.

Once Stellan finally gives in to what he is feeling towards Juno, wow does he let go! He is all possessive and growly and jealous and oh so hot! He is one dirty talking, bad boy, police detective!

“I’d take a naughty pixie over an angel any day.”

Amour || Couple

Juno knows exactly who Stellan is to her. But as far as he knows, she’s just as human as he is. She has to tell him the truth about who and what she is. And about their mate bond. Will he still want her when he knows the truth? Or will he run for the hills?

This really was fun, sexy, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I struggled a bit picking up the thread of the previous book. I do recommend reading them in order. Even though each book is about a different couple, the story line is ongoing and just a warning, we are left hanging just a bit! So I hope Layla Frost is fast at work on the next book because I need to know what comes next.

This author's humor kills me every time. I find her books fun to read and I always end up adoring her heroines. Stoned is another one to add to my list. I would suggest reading book one first. While this is based off a different couple, the overall story is continued. Plus you get to meet Juno and all her awesomeness in the first book as well.

The reason I think Juno is so awesome is because she's funny and quirky but also very fierce. Don't mess with anyone she cares about or she'll go all mama bear on your hinny. And how cute is it that Stellan called her his pixie?

Oh Stellan, how I wish I could call you mine. Picture a hot, slightly older man (in Juno's eyes) who goes all intense and growly. Uh, yes please. One order of hot cop coming right up! He fought it a teeny, tiny bit but it didn't' take long for Stellan to realize he had no chance where Juno was concerned. That man was so gone for her it'll make you jealous.

I've mentioned this is fun, but I'll also say it's a pretty safe read. There is some violence due to the nature of the overall plot, but no outside interference to our couple's relationship. This is a paranormal series. I won't speak too much of that in case you haven't read book one where you learn all the deets. Bring on book 3!

I loved everything about this story! Filled with humor, some mystery, plenty of uncertainty regarding Juno’s magicks abilities, and enough steam to burn your fingerprints off where you’re holding your ereader, it was one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a long while.

The meeting between Juno and Stellan was perfectly imperfect and led to so many mixed feelings within both of them. It set me up for a fun read as I watched them both struggle with what they were feeling and then yielding to it.

Juno was so sassy and feisty. With her dirty thoughts and endless humor, she pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved getting a peek at her in the before time as well as the other Four. I usually get bored with a characters inner musings but that was never the case here. I loved how she thought, planned and reacted. I especially loved how she was perfect for Stellan.

Stellan is the type of hero I absolutely adore! He wants her from the very beginning but puts up a bit of a fight that doesn’t last long. And then he’s ready to do whatever it takes to make her his. With his jealous, possessive tendencies rising at a single thought of another man with her and his protective instincts thrown into overdrive, he won a spot on “my favorite kind of hero” shelf.

There was never a doubt that these two were designed to be together but getting Juno to the place of trusting herself to open that door was a wonderful thing to experience. In addition to all this couple’s goodness, we have past characters that helped to move the story forward as well as a few twists that I never saw coming. Oh, and let’s not forget the sadistic tendencies this author has…she left this on a freaking cliffhanger! You’re definitely going to need to read book 1 of the series before this, but it’s just as wonderful so it won’t be a hardship. And now to wait on the next installment…sigh.

I enjoyed this one WAY more than I did book one. It was better paced, and I enjoyed the romance and the storyline more. I SO want Levi (Satan) to get a book of his own!

War comes in all shapes and sizes

It’s kind of hard to take Death and War seriously when I’m completely distracted by cotton candy, porno comics and hot cops. I guess you could say that Layla Frost brings comedic elements to the end of the world. Not that Layla’s not taking the end of the world seriously, it’s just that it’s hard to take it all as doom and gloom when you’re chuckling or distracted by candy, porno and hot cops. Stoned takes us back to the candy store where one slightly stoned witch comes face to face with evil. This witch is NOT that upset with facing evil because low and behold, evil brings out her Prince Charming…who happen to know she’s stoned AND happens to be the love of her life.

I like to go into my reads without preparation. You know, slide into the scene without knowing who, what, where and how. Well, this led to a few problems for me. Even with some slight prompting in the storyline at the beginning, I couldn’t remember where we had left things. Then, I decided to re-read my review and see if that helped. Unfortunately, even with a supposedly spoilery review, it was a bloody USELESS spoiler and my review was no help to me at all. I literally had to read Stoned and get the *AHA, now I remember…* moments as they came. Woe is me.

So, within a few chapters, I’m back on track and know where things are heading. Juno is a witch with attitude, brightly coloured hair, and an addiction to coffee and candy. She comes across as a little wacky and totally lovable. The people closest to her, she will protect with her life. When her shop is vandalised and a drive-by-shooting puts her loved ones in danger and leaves everything in tatters, it makes her ANGRY. She may look like a cute little pixie but get on her wrong side and she’ll blow your head up with a blink of her eyes. With her abilities, she is a protector. When Stellan, the sexy detective, comes into her life, it’s going to be a battle as to who will step in front of the bullet first.

Stellan can’t believe the mad little Pixie keeps jumping in front of stray bullets. The fact that he thinks the bullets are aimed at him because of his career, makes it even harder to watch her jump in front of him. But, there’s something different about this woman who is in his thoughts 24/7. There is an EXTREME attraction. So extreme, one thought of her will make him instantly hard and desperate for her touch. No other woman has affected him this way. Nothing will stop him from being with her...and trying to protect her.

Four instead of five stars because the front-end of the story left me a little frustrated. It took me too long to get up to speed with what happened in the previous instalment. When I read these kinds on series, I’m always disappointed that we’re not treated to a –

In the previous instalment…

I don’t want everything retold, just enough to trigger my memories so I'm not distracted from what is going on now. I need to be fully immersed in who, where and what’s new. I also struggle a little with how long it takes for the hero and heroine to be on the same page. When they do get there, they are so there, it’s almost too much. I felt like I was scrambling to catch up from lusty lust thoughts to I LOVE YOU!! It was HOT mind you, just seemed to hit mushy gushy feeling a bit quickly.

Stoned was funny, quirky and HOT!! Seriously, seriously HOT HOT HOT!!! If you want to make it an even hotter experience, google the Japanese word Juno uses when the young guy comes into the store. Then, after checking it out [BLUSHING!!], head back to the story and keep reading. Oh My Lordy…I’m blushing again just thinking about it. Feeling…HOT HOT HOT!!!

Holy Shamoly, Layla Frost really knows how to torture her readers. I have SOOOO many unanswered questions. Sure, she gives us a happy for now, but she also leaves us desperate for more.

I really like this series and I highly recommend giving it a go.

Still like the series!

I was curious about this one, especially after just finishing the first book in the series. And I was really curious about getting a female Horseman (who said they all have to be male anyway?!).

We get a bit more action here, so yay! I loved the stoned witch Horseman, she is really great. What was a bit strange, why it didn't get the full 5 stars, the detective accepted everything a bit too easily. It didn't feel as plausible as the first book (but we have more UF, so it still gets 4 stars).

So yes, again, a series worth reading for anyone who likes a bit of UF with their romance. Or was it the other way around...

Really enjoyed this one! Some parts were a little slow, but I liked the overall book. I do wish we had more scenes of the horsemen showing off what they could do with their magic though, but oh well. Now if we can only get the next one...

5 ‘ Their Reward’ Stars

O.M.F.G!!! Just when I thought the first book, Styx, couldn’t be matched in its awesomeness, here comes Ms. Frost raising up the stakes with Stoned! This dirty minded pixie and her filthy mouthed detective will ROCK YOUR WORLD!

Again I’ll keep this review as non spoilerish as possible, because this series is all about the RIDE.

We met Juno, our now leading lady – she would so snort at being called that, btw – in the previous book, and could already anticipate just how rich and colorful her character was going to be. Well, she was all I was expecting and MORE!

Unless she’d broken her halo to form her horns, Juno was no angel. She was a temptress. A siren, luring me in.
And it was working. I’d take a naughty pixie over an angel any day.

Stellan, handsome and broody Alpha was the detective in charge of Juno’s case, but even if he wasn’t, there was no way he could stay away, when something beyond them was pushing him in the direction of the crazy, wild, comic book store owner.

I’d joke that it was a gift from the gods, but that wasn’t a joke. He was literally my gift from the gods.

This story truly was outstanding, from the hilarious, LMAO moments, to the suspense and insane chemistry and connection between the main couples, I was glued, and begging for more, actually, still craving, even more and more stories from this crazy addictive universe.

One date, and I was obsessed.
I’d chase. I’d beg. She just had to tell me the rules, and I’d play her game as long as winning meant I got her.

Juno and Stellan even though apparently completely opposites to one another, couldn’t have been better paired up, Fate really has a way. There was no doubt in my mind they could be anything other than true soulmates. He was the calm to her storm, and the rational and pragmatic to her crazy, two perfect halves of a whole, and I ADORED every single one of their interactions.

But they gave us beauty.
Our reward.

Layla Frost truly has an unmeasurable creative and writing talent. The way this universe was created, the complex and particular characters, the quirkiness and uncontrollable ROFL lines and scenes, and the organic feeling chemistry, transform this PNR romance in a love and suspense combo story, just as addictive as Juno’s special gummy bears and cotton candy – that I was craving while reading, btw. Seriously, besides begging for Levi’s story, I’ll be here stalking and counting down the days for the rest of The Four! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“I love you, Juno,” he grunted, his thrusts growing more frenzied. “Not because you’re my mate or any of that shit. But because you’re my filthy-minded and dirty-mouthed pixie.”

“As long as I’m still breathing, and probably after, I’ll want you. Never doubt that.”

Once again Ms. Frost has blown my mind. Not only am I loving this overarching plot she’s weaving together with angels, demons, and magicks galore, I bounced through a range of emotions including lots of hilarity and a heavy dose of sadness. Oh, and it was sexy as hell.

Juno was freaking hilarious. I never knew what was going to come out of her mouth just that it was more than likely going to be funny. And she was kickass to boot, even if she did go a little wonky there for a bit.

As for Stellan, if I wasn’t happily married I’d want to pull him out of the pages and take him for a ride. He could be a complete ass but he could also be so sweet it would almost guarantee a visit from the tooth fairy. His sheer selflessness was awe inspiring. Best of all, that man was an expert at dirty talk and he proved without a doubt he could back it up. I’m still fanning myself from some of his lines.

Speaking of selflessness, there was one part that put a crack in my hard little heart. I’m not saying anything else about that other than authors can be mean bitches sometimes. And yes, I’m looking at you, Ms. Frost.

Stoned was hilarious all kinds of interesting, sexy as hell, had all the feels and kept me mesmerized from beginning to end. I just wish the ending hadn’t felt so abrupt. It’s good Stellan and his Pixie were in a happy place relationship wise or I’d have been one mad reader. I don’t have a patient bone in my body, so I hope the next book comes quick.

MUST READ ALERT 💜💜💜

Just finished at 1am and it was FANFUCKINGTASTIC!!! The kind of book that leaves you smiling like a loon and grateful you found her words.

This series of stories are some of the most original I have EVER read. Magicks, Mayhem and Men that make your panties go poof! Gone!

Cannot recommend them enough.

Juno & Stellan are what I love about smart romance writing. Kick ass heroine, hilarious dialogue, chemistry to melt your kindle and just the right dash of sweet!

Trust me when I say you NEED this book!!

I received an arc of this book.

Good second book, but the story continues...

Good continuation to the series, though the first book has to be read first. This story is of Juno and Stellan who are each other's other half. The ARC isn't done, but at least Juno and Stellan have found each other.

4.6 stars.
I’m glad I stuck with it after realizing the overarching plot would continue throughout the series with very little progress made in each individual book.
It’s itching something in my brain that I don’t really understand. I think maybe it’s the dialogue. It’s snarky and witty and just makes everything go light speed.

This is the second book in The Four series by Layla Frost about the four horseman of the apocalypse. However, it isn’t quite the tale we are all familiar with. The horseman aren’t there to start the apocalypse, instead they keep a balance between heaven and hell and try and prevent any pesky world ending events. Slight problem. Until recently both heaven and hell had misplaced the horsemen and their souls after they confronted an evil cult who managed to get the jump on them.

In the first book we find Nate aka Thanatos aka Death. In the this book, we meet Juno aka War aka witch extraordinaire and stoner. And Juno is having a bad day, her comic book shop been the subject of a robbery where all of her stock was destroyed. You think it would start to look up when she realises the detective investigating her case happens to be her soul mate. Only, he seems to have taken and instant and intense dislike to Juno.

I loved the idea of this series and I am always a fan of a really strong heroine. All this made me eager to pick this up to fulfil my romanceopoly challenge for Magic Row – read a paranormal romance where the hero or heroine wields magic. Unfortunately, this book didn’t really work out very well for me. I found myself losing interest in the book and the romance very quickly.

There wasn’t enough of the main story regarding Nate and Juno finding their brothers, the other two horsemen, and fighting off the cult trying to start the end of the world. Instead, we spent a lot of time in Juno’s head listening to her thought with nothing actually happening. And that was fine, she’s a funny gal. At first. But as the book went on I found Juno less funny and more irritating.

I am not sure if I will continue with this series, although I do like the story, I don’t seem to be clicking with any of the characters. Nor do I feel that invested in the romances. Instead I was fighting to keep myself focussed and interested in the book. When a book or series feels like a slog, that’s probably the time to stop reading.

Excuse you, Layla Frost, you absolute word wizard!!I was sucked in from word one and I don't think my feet touched the floor until I was finished. I don't want to give away the plot, it's better to go in blind. Suffice to say it's a fantastic story and continues on from book one.
I loved the humor of this book and it has epic one-liners. Plus, I got to see my book-one bae again!
And Levi.. oh, Levi! When you're drawn to a secondary character you know that's some good stuff.

I want to be Juno when I grow up. I think she's one of my favorite heroines. Quirky, fun, funny and a fantastic leading lady.

Stellan was everything I wanted in a possessive, protective, growly hero. I'll be his pixie!

“It’s okay, pixie, shoot me dirty looks all you want. I like it.”

This is a series you're going to want to jump on board with. Trust me, it's Aaaamazing.

Everything she releases is GOLD! Solid GOLD!

Every single time I think Layla Frost can't do any better or surprise me as a reader..

It should be noted that Stoned is the second book of The Four Series and you should definitely read Styx to know what is going on.

From a super unique and original plot to the amazing characterization, Stoned surpassed whatever I had in mind. This couple just may be my favorite so far. Juno & Stellan are characters that will stay with you long after you read. They complete each other in every way possible. Two complete different personalities and characters come together and form a perfect whole. I absolutely loved this couple.

I EFFING ADORED JUNO!! She was simply everything! She had such a complex character I can't even begin to tell describe it. She was witty, brilliant, funny and crazy in the best way possible. I absolutely loved her sass! As always Layla Frost's impressive heroines remain flawless.

The hero just as equally awes the reader. Stellan and his possessiveness and dirty talk will have you simply hooked.

Despite the story ending in a cliffhanger , just as the Styx did, it didn't take anything away from the story for me. I was beyond satisfied and will definitely be reading the next ones! Layla Frost delivered a perfect blend of everything you could hope to find in a book.

So I had this entire in depth review written and then when I went to save it....*poof* Gone. Frustrating, but here is all you need to know about my feelings about this book. I. LOVED. IT. As other reviewers have mentioned, STYX really needs to be read first to fully appreciate STONED.

Layla Frost has yet to write a book that I don't adore and re-read multiple times because she has an absolute gift for writing great heroines and heroes that you just wished with every fiber of your being were real. Honestly, though, her heroines are my favorite. Juno, the heroine in STONED, is classic Layla Frost - smart, quirky, funny (so so SO funny!), I-wanna-be-her-BFF, fierce - while in addition to being a badass powerhouse witch. All while keeping her from being annoying or a caricature. Stellan, the hero, is everything I want in a hero - protective, sexy AF (do the kids still use that?) possessive, completely and blindingly enamored with his heroine. Considering all the differences between the two of them (human/non human, black&white/every rainbow shade, etc.), Stellan's stoicism and groundedness is a perfect balance for Juno's controlled chaos.

The story was well paced, interesting and had the right balance between relationship building and plot development which is impressive as this is book 2 of a series with an over-arching story. I find that a lot of interconnected series, one is sacrificed at the expense of the other. The growth of the relationship between Juno and Stellan also felt organic, which is amazing since poor Stellan had to contend with the existence of an entire paranormal world. Did I mention that this is only her second foray into PNR? As in the prior book, the handling of the PNR aspects of the book had a really unique spin on archetypes that most of us are familiar with and that I especially loved.

In short; read this book. Hell, read all her books. I did receive a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but I plan on buying a copy also because I need Layla Frost to keep writing. In particular, I need her to write the next freakin book in the series...like NOW.

4-4.25 stars. This book was really good! Stoned is book two in the paranormal romance series, The Four. Stoned is Juno's story. We met Juno in Styx, as she is a witch who helped Denny and Nate and befriended them. When bad things keep happening to Juno, including her store being blown up, she meets hot cop Stellan. They are drawn to each other and have immediate chemistry. He wants to protect her and together they work to figure out what magic is at play that wants to harm Juno.

I really enjoyed Stoned! This book started with a bang. I liked that it was faced paced and exciting. I adored both Juno and Stellan. Juno was bada$$ as she was one of the strongest witches in the world, but she was also fun and sweet. I loved Stellan too. He was strong, protective and he was smitten with Juno. Stellan was perfect and alpha in the best way. They were a really great, powerful couple with amazing chemistry and connection. I like the way the world building has developed and I wasn't confused on what was going on at all. I also enjoyed the side characters and catching back up with Denny and Nate. This book had humor, heat, excitement and magic!

Overall, this was a great read! I am enjoying this series so much and I can't wait for more from Ms. Frost!

I seriously feel like Olaf with my “oh, I love it even MORE now” feelings about this series (blame motherhood for the Disney reference there). Juno and Stellan are absolutely fabulous and are the perfect mates for each other. The Four series continues with their story...and it’s a doozy.

Juno and her brother, Nate, are now united and are trying to find the other two important members of The Four, but Juno needs to figure out her own fate and soulmate-predicament first. She can’t help how she’s drawn to Stellan, but she’s pretty sure he doesn’t feel the same way toward her for a while. Luckily, she’s dead wrong in her interpretation of his feelings, and he proves his love in a few big ways throughout the story. Stellan proves to be far more accepting of their fate and the truth that brings him and Juno together, and is willing to go toe-to-toe with Heaven and Hell to prove it. Of course, we have some misunderstanding and humor and drama thrown in to keep this all interesting, which only meant that I absolutely couldn’t put my iPad down. I just HAD to keep reading to see what (or who) came next. Trust me, you’ll feel the same way.

This story does end in a cliffhanger, BUT you should already know that from Denny and Nate’s story. And if you don’t, make a leap of faith and go back to the beginning so everything is clear. Now, I must practice the art of patience while I wait to see who comes next and how their story unfolds.

This author is an Amazing storyteller and her heroines are so awesome!! Juno was amazing.
Love her humor and sarcasm and wit. She had me grinning and laughing a lot.
Stellan..the dirty mouth protective and possessive detective. He was perfect for Juno.
It’s recommended to read Styx (The Four book 1) first before reading Stoned because even though it’s about a different couple it’s a continuation.
This book was so good! I couldn’t put it down.I wanted to read it very slowly because I didn’t want it to end. Now to wait for the next book.

I laughed so hard I cried at some points. Juno is a trip and Stellan is PERFECT for her! This was the perfect PNR Romance and definitely one of my new favorites of this year so far!

I ABSOLUTELY recommend this awesome story!!!

Mmmmk. Yeah....wow....😳....Nope. Still don’t have words to do Stoned justice. (244423567 hours later after finishing.) Juno and Stellan are perfect counterparts for the other. Soulmates. Their connection was out of this...literally. This is DEFINITELY a must read. 😍 I NEED MORE....NOW.

Well, we do get a fair bit more information about what the hell is going on. And it's shown to us, not just info-dumped in one long story time session like in book 1. But that doesn't mean that it makes a ton of sense.

I wasn't terribly keen on the romance in this one, either. It's instant attraction between Juno and Stellan. The only thing keeping them out of each other's beds for the first half of the book is Juno's stubborn insistence on NOT liking him--which makes zero damned sense, given she knows he's her mate and that joining with him would make her stronger...which she needs to be if she's going to fight Absolve...which is her sole reason for NOT engaging in sexy time with her mate...

Did you follow that? Because it's as stupid as it sounds.

Stellan being a detective makes all of that all the weirder. The protective side of his personality is the only thing that makes sense. I can't be the only one who looks at detective-characters as logic-driven, can I? Yet he willingly accepts all of Juno's crazy. Willingly goes along with the paranormal/religious revelations thrown at him. Because...he wants to fuck her. That's it. That's the only reason.

His personality morphs from straight-laced detective so fast it'll make your head spin. And he goes from "I can't be this attracted to her" to "I fucking love you" in the span of, I dunno... a week? Not counting the random days she spends in heaven or hell.

I dunno, man. It just didn't jive in my head.

There are also really strange similarities between Juno and Denny. Unnecessary similarities. Like they both love insanely spicy food. Why is this a thing? Why are we being given the exact same woman twice?

I found myself losing interest in the overarching story, too. For some reason I can't take Absolve seriously. They're humans (who maybe have magics???) who like to steal other humans' souls, and are dead set on killing these super powerful super beings who don't die easily and who can control people's thoughts and actions, as well as their surroundings with just a thought. The fight didn't seem fair, and yet I'm supposed to take Absolve as a legitimate threat? Nah.

The magic stuff is just as vague and arbitrary as in book 1. Only now it just doesn't make a lot of sense, too. And half-way through a series, that's more than just a little annoying.

I think I'm calling this one here. I don't care about the other 2 horsemen, I don't care about Absolve or whatever purpose they serve in the world. I don't really even care about the romance, because it's so poorly paced there's no time to get a feel for the characters before they're just fucking all over the place.

I wish I could say this series had potential. But unfortunately, no matter how much I want it to, this just isn't going anywhere I care about.

Rating: 4.5 “Eggplants for dinner” Stars

Holy. Freaking. Cow.

After Styx completely blew me away, I was both super excited and trying to keep my expectations in check before starting Stoned. I really shouldn’t have bothered because it was so, so good!

I won’t go into specifics of the story because just as with the previous book, there’s a lot of mystery and suspense going on (although we’re not as blind as with that one) and I don’t want to spoil the surprises for anyone.

Nate, the hero in Styx, was a tough act to follow and considering Juno is the absolute shit, Stellan had a lot to prove. And prove himself he did. He was bossy, possessive, protective and incredibly sexy. He could dirty talk like a GOD and he had so many moves! I can’t even… you need to read this.

“I’m gonna spend so long memorizing the feel of you around my dick, you’ll forget what your pussy feels like without me in it!

Having met Juno in the first book, I already loved her sassy, quirky, weird AF cocky butt. She was a hoot, had a flaming temper and the bloodthirstiness to carry it out.

“You’re drooling.”

“Yup,” I agreed without shame. “I’m going to have to carry around a wet floor sign.”

“For the drool?” she asked.

“Yeah, sure. Let’s go with that.”

As the encompassing arch of the story unfurls, Juno and Stellan need to bond as a couple. Unsurprisingly, their chemistry is absolutely off the charts amazing, their connection zings and their time together molten-lava level of hot. I loved that we get some glimpses of Nate and Denny togethering and that we get to spend more time with Levi. That is one devil I want to get to know much better.

With intrigue, suspense and some action, Stoned had me cursing work as I was forced to put it down. I did feel the end was a little bit abrupt, as not to say I felt I was slammed headfirst into a concrete wall after falling from an airplane, but I do understand that the story needs the next installment to continue. That said, that Epilogue on the last book better be like… the most epic epilogue in the history of the written word.

I need the next book now!!

Let me start by saying Stoned is a safe read; no OW/OM drama. <—- for all you safety readers out there. I do recommend reading the first book in this series first, Stoned. It’s about a different couple but the beginning to what’s going on in this book.
This is a story of Juno, a store owner who also happens to be a very powerful witch. I love Juno’s character, she’s hilarious and quirky. Her soulmate, Stellan is the complete opposite of her. He’s a rule following police officer. He feels the instant attraction to her but doesn’t know she’s a witch. Once he gives in, he becomes the ultimate dirty talking alpha.
This book has just the right amount of push and pull with the characters. I definitely recommend this series. I CANNOT wait for the next book. I hope Layla is able to release it pretty quickly after this one.

I absolutely love the chemistry between Stellan and Juno. Not only is it scorching HAWT but it's funny as hell. He gets her nutty humor and finds her special powers sexy...this is an alpha male who is NOT threatened by a powerful woman. You can read this as a stand alone if you must, but it's so much better having read Styx first. And besides, you don't want to miss Denny and Nate's story...they feature prominently in Stoned and their story is just as swoony and wonderful as Stellan and Juno's. GET THIS BOOK NOW!

Layla Frost is swiftly becoming a go to author for me when I need smoking hot romance that makes me laugh. Stoned was everything that I hoped for and more. Juno is smart and talented, so much so that they should be her middle names. What really got me though, was the vulnerability underneath that got to me. Stellan is everything hot and I loved how he accepts her for the awesome chick she is. The two of them together is perfection, they are complete. You see it in every moment once they meet, the connection between them. Stoned was so funny that I didn't see a moment coming that caused me to cry. I devoured this book and loved every moment with these characters. Please do yourself a favor and read Styx first or you will be terribly lost and missing out on the awesomeness that is Denny and Nate. Stoned is amazing and deserves 6 stars!

Juno is wild and beautiful. She is very powerful and is the first to kick ass and take names. When she finally meets her "other half" she doesn't expect it to be the straight-laced, sexy as sin detective staring at her. Will he want her and all her wildness? And what happens when he finds out who she really is?

WOW! WOW! WOW! I am utterly blown away by this book! I am so addicted to this series and Juno and Stellan's story did not disappoint! My emotions went on one heck of a rollercoaster ride. Juno cracks me with her crazy antics and her obsession with food. I fell in love with these two instantly! I hung on every word. I am so excited to see what is still to come in this amazing series! 6 stars!!
