THE EYES OF A HAWK AND THE VENOM OF A WIDOW! Even when Black Widow and Hawkeye had no one to trust, they still had each other - even though their paths sometimes diverged. So when Clint Barton is accused of a rogue assassination attempt that puts the U.S. and Madripoor at odds, a symbiote-equipped Natasha Romanoff thinks nothing of coming to his aid. But as echoes of their past ripple into the present, it will take all their faith in each other - and the lessons learned along the way - to protect their futures. Join fan-favorite creators Stephanie Phillips (ROGUE & GAMBIT, CAPWOLF & THE HOWLING COMMANDOS) and Paolo Villanelli (CAPTAIN DARK TEMPEST, STAR BOUNTY HUNTERS) as they celebrate sixty years of Black Widow and Hawkeye with this new chapter IN the pair's storied legacy!
Pretty cool. I thought that the bad thing Clint did was referencing something from a previous book (similar to his thing in Civil War II) but apparently not. The art was real good, moody colors, decent faces and action. Nat and Clint's voices were alright. I'm mostly just annoyed at how similar it is to that story in CWII, which kinda sucked. I liked the flashback at the end.
natasha controls spiders!!!!!!!!!!!! her anger!!!!!!!! "i do not believe you. tsk, belief does not change fact, dorogaya." the art style!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was exactly what I wanted from a Black Widow and Hawkeye story. The duo bounce off each other perfectly and their shared history comes through amazingly. When I saw Natasha with a symbiote on the cover, I was sceptical, but it works really well for this story and the relationship between Clint and Natasha (though I’m still not totally sold on it as an overarching device). The art was amazing, but I’d argue the story is simply par for the course for a superhero comic. Still, I was engaged and I find these comic characters more endearing than their on screen counterparts. I also really appreciated that this collection included both characters’ first issues. I knew Black Widow started as an Iron Man villain, but I didn’t know Hawkeye did too. Even more, I didn’t know that Black Widow was involved in Hawkeye’s first story. Overall, I’d highly recommend this.
I've really enjoyed Stephanie's work on Harley Quinn and this issue was an excellent reminder why. Great characterization, action, pacing, and art. Really excited to see where this goes and while I know some take issue with Natasha having a symbiote, I think it makes perfect sense for the character. Tons of potential here.
love love love!!!!! great art and even greater writing (so far at least). haven’t read anything of nat as a symbiote but i’m digging that and the (platonic!) relationship between her and clint. yes break through those toxic cycles
Good art and story. It may seem like Black Widow carries this issue more than Hawkeye but the balance in storytelling and who to focus on was done nicely.
