Good build up and I’m eager to see what is next. Quicksilver is becoming a bit like the Flash, but his arrogance puts him on another level.

As anyone who reads my reviews knows, I kind of hate the Scarlet Witch. Or, if not her as a person, I hate the many retcons that have been leveled at her over the past 15, 20 years or so. I hate the poor writing. I hate the inattention to detail. I hate the changes in status quo.

This issue was the first time I thought there was something wrong with the writer just in terms of how the dialogue sounded. Sometimes I would stare at pages where the Wizard was evil monologuing to his minions, and it seemed like word salad to me. Similarly, when Quicksilver was talking to himself, while demonstrating --possibly for the first time ever-- that he can be a genius in short bursts.

The pacing of this issue was all wrong.

Last issue, I complained quite a bit about how inexplicable it was for Speed to say hi to "Uncle Pietro," when Speed and Quicksilver have basically only met once. And, so far as we know, they don't even have any DNA in common. The characters developed a working theory that Speed and Wiccan are the "spiritual reincarnations" of Wanda's and Vision's sons, but then the characters just acted like this was a confirmed fact without getting any actual confirmation. Setting aside the fact Vision has NEVER talked to Wiccan and Speed as their father, and no one has EVER taken a cheek swab from either boy for a DNA test?

Speed and Quicksilver have no relationship. Even if Speed's DNA has been altered so that this body is now genetically Wanda's son (even though Wanda did not give birth to him), that doesn't change the fact he doesn't KNOW Quicksilver. Not really.

And yet--

So sick of this.

Honestly the fight between Scarlet Witch and the Wizard was awesome but the rest of the issue is lackluster, it feels like Quicksilver is tagged on there like an after thought. Him taking on gravity fighters was novel through but it didn't last very long and the whole secret between the siblings is kind of gone.

Instead we've got cameos from Vision and Speed to boost up the supporting cast, It's alright but it's one of those stories where you're just waiting for something to happen.

Love that Wanda’s kids are getting involved! As always, I love the art style, and I’m excited to see more.
