The Labyrinth Litizen Shorts by Litizen.com

The Minotaur has become a nightmare for Athens. In deference to a pact, seven young men from Athens are dumped into the Labyrinth every year to be fed to the bull-headed monster. None has escaped the treacherous maze or the feeding frenzy of the beast. When Theseus enters the Labyrinth, he hopes to make small work of the mythical monster. But as the Athenian hero walks down the silent tunnels towards the dark heart of the maze, he realises that there is more to the Minotaur and the Labyrinth than is believed. In this story, set in 1500 BC on the Greek island of Crete, we will read what has been hidden for centuries about the battle of the Labyrinth.

Rishabh Chaturvedi

Born in 1984 in Kanpur, India, in the illustrious family of three generations of Chartered Accountants; my passion for words is probably genetic. At the age of 22, I did uphold the family legacy; and due to which we, Chaturvedi Family, became the only family with four generations of same bloodline in the profession. More than happy I was relieved, for in the part of the world from where I hailed, it was almost like the 'Sicilian' thing.
I plunged into practice (first multinational and then family) and for 10 years did not do too badly for myself. However, my tryst with words, mostly in form of tax submissions and opinions, was instrumental in whetting my appetite for writing. Creative writing at that, for that's what tax opinions usually were.
Somewhere in those ten years I formed a band of Merrymen and Married women, who were the 'three pin plugs in two pin socket' types and we egged (even goaded) each other into writing. Consequently, I formed a group of avid writers, which has grown in size and popularity.

The old Greek tales of The Labyrinth are retold in this short story, which solved the problem of the Minotaur, a monster of The Labyrinth. It was an interesting story and showed when people work together with things that are not as they seem, solutions can be found and worked out to problems for the good of all.
