Objection moved at the right pace with a good balance of everything. It was the perfect read for me. Needless to say it ends with a cliffy and I am all too happy to be jumping over to part 2, Stipulation for the continuation of their story.

Loved it! Excellent story-telling! Captivating plot! Aloof and to-die-for hero! Interesting heroine! Tantalizing sex scenes!

Egotistical Moron!

I used to work in Law prior to my current job so have an interest in books with Lawyers, Courtroom drama, etc. This was a short, hot read. Liked the main characters.

Yeah, Matt is a bit of a dick, but that’s the sort I usually like in my books.

Oh, what these lawyers do when not in a court room... They meet under private, no real name arrangements for a quick down and dirty date. Both are vetted, ready to play with no shame in their game. All goes so well... they both feel like it was the best sex they have ever had... and it should... multiple orgasms for both long into the night and through to the dawn. They are never to see each other again.

Oh, but her law practice is sold to another firm.... and He is the controlling partner...She is to work with him as her boss.... and the question is can they both handle the sexual pressure.

This was a fast, short yummy read and there are many more parts to come...or should I say cum...

3.75 One Night Only Stars

McKayla’s best friend gifts her membership to an exclusive club in which she meets up with #134 for her arranged one night stand on a Saturday.

What an evening they shared together...



On Monday, McKayla starts the first day of their new job. You see, Lorraine her boss’ company has been new acquired by a larger law firm.

I think a reader only needs one guess as to who is the head of Connover and Crown?



Well, Matt is a great lawyer and lays down the law that there will be no mentioning of that evening nor will there be reoccurrence of those events ever. Seriously this is guy is pretty full of himself and a bit entertaining in an ass sort of way.

McKayla was a great character and I’m definitely going to read on because this was a really short steamy read.

Even though this story was short and didn't really offer anything I haven't read before, I'll be reading on to see what the author has up her sleeve.

Let me tell you first, that I have not been satisfied with this one. I pictured it as a variation of and it was some kind of, ermm... much shorter, and much shallower variation of it.

So, the story goes like this:
We got a manwhore lawyer. Ugh.

And we got a hungry lady who broke up with her boyfriend 6 months ago and now agreed to join a one night stand online network.


I don't even remember their names. Oh, wait, his is Matt. But hers....who knows...

And guess what! Her new boss is... YES! That guy she shagged 2 days ago. Matt.

They both say:

and they say they'll keep it in their pants. But.

There's always BUT. Or a b*tt.
She accidentally brushes a b**b or a b*tt (can't remember) of him...
and that's what it takes...


Annndddd. That's it. A hint of hers "I want more from you". The End.
A cliffy.

This was more like a prologue or first 2 chapters of a novel. Nothing interesting. Writing was... like something between a high school horny teenager and a half heated secretary who got lost in a lawyers office. Bad. Stiff. Characters underdeveloped. Ugh. What more I can say?

Her friend convinces her to join One Night Only, the exclusive service that provides discretion and no-string arrangements. One encounter, the single best night of sex that McKayla has ever experienced. He was just a number, a false name and a man she’d never meet again. Until she does.

When the law firm she works for is acquired by firm of Connover & Crown she is surprised to see her new boss is the same man she shared a torrid night with.

Now that I’ve gotten a few Sawyer Bennett titles under my belt, I can say I am a fan. The writing is good the story is well outlined and the characters are developed flawlessly. The one thing I loved about the start of this serial was that it wasn’t filled with the mundane items that take up valuable real estate. We got enough of the characters to get hooked on the story and to want more. Mission accomplished.

Matt has a bit of mystery lurking behind his dark eyes. There is a reason why a man with his passion only wants to encounter one night stands that are arranged with anonymity. Discovering the answers to that mystery is going to be thoroughly enjoyed.

A little serial series that focuses on a boss/employee relationship with a man with obvious commitment issues and some hurt lurking in his past that ensures that he remains detached and distant? Yes, please. I can wait for the angst to continue as these two have to fight their attraction, and the fall out that is going to occur when they eventually give in. I am looking forward to the frustration as she has to fight to get him to open up and give in.

This was second book by Sawyer Bennett that I've read. I previously read her short novela If I Return and remember thinking then, that what she writes is good. But after this one I can say, damn I like her style. I will definitely be reading more of this author in the future and this series for sure. I got hooked and can't wait to see what will happen next. It was short, very descent reading and fucking hot too. Off to the next part!

4 SEXY STARS

This was my first Sawyer Bennett book and I liked it, a lot. The writing was good, the story and banter was witty, sexy and hot, and the MCs were engaging. Matt Connover is a demanding, hot - alpha to the core - litigation lawyer who has a one night stand with smart, sexy McKayla Dawson, soon to be his employee (unbeknownst to either of them at the time).



Not sure what it is about Alpha lawyer jerks, and let me tell you Matt is all that, but they just turn me on!



And Matt’s confident, demanding and insensitive banter is really attractive in a twisted way! Some of my faves:

"…I’m going to have you so wet, I’ll slide right home. Trust me."


"I think with my dick, McKayla…not my heart. It serves me well." "Well, I have to say your dick is the most pleasant thing about you."

A fun, hot read. The first (Saturday) night number 3498 (her) and 134 (him) meet the attraction is obvious. They have the best one night stand and go their own way in the morning. Come Monday morning mr. 134 is her boss!! Awkard!
This is hot alpha male that meets an equally hot no-nonsense woman. A real sexy funny quick read since these are all written in novella form. On to book 2....

Extremely enjoyable. I really liked McKayla. So far she seems to be a confident woman who doesn't crumble easily. Matt was yummy. Obviously he's got some serious commitment issues just from what was mentioned in this book. I must say these two have some serious chemistry and are SMOKING HOT together.

While I enjoyed this story I have to say one of my biggest pet peeves is when authors release books in small doses. When it's all said and done you've spent a lot just to read a complete book and still had to wait two weeks between each installment.

It was sizzling like electricity filled the air!

My first Sawyer Bennett's novella was surprisingly enjoyable. Even though I found the plot was simple and predictable, the writing was very well and the characters were likable and intriguing. The hero was so sexy, and the heroine was smart and attractive. The story was short so I could easily finish in one sitting.

GAH! I need the next volume STAT!!!

McKayla Dawson is a lawyer. Her boyfriend of three years dumped her in a romantic resturant where McKayla thought he was going to propose to her. Feeling down and extremely drunk McKayla lets her best friend Macy set her up for a one night stand through a company called One Night Only.

"It's called One Night Only, and it catered to the rich and sexually depraved of New York's finest."

McKayla gets set up with number 134/Mike and goes to meet him, they hit it off straight away and only make it as far as the elevator before attacking each other and spending ALL NIGHT LONG doing the dirty, over and over and over again... It was steamy!

"He places a light kiss below my ear and says, “I’m trying to decide if I want to fuck you in the elevator or wait until we get in the room. Then I’m trying to figure out if I should fuck you missionary or from behind… probably both, and only after I've gone down on you. Then it’s always open for debate whether I take you out on the balcony."

They both say goodbye, telling each other, that was the best night they had ever had. McKayla get's a call from her boss the next day saying she has to go into work straight away and finds out that the business has been brought by a company called Connover and Crown and starting Monday, McKayla now has a new job.

McKayla get's off to a bad start her first day with being late and then entering the meeting and coming face to face with her new boss... NUMBER 134/MIKE!!!

Matt, yes his real name is Matt! is furious that McKayla is his new employee and expresses his displeasure that she is there and that he doesn't mix business with pleasure and for McKayla not to get any idea's that they will become more than employer and employee.

“Listen, you jackass,” I sneer at him, not caring one whit if this gets me fired. “I can conduct myself in a businesslike manner, and yeah… you got me to scream a few times the other night. But I can guarantee you — you’re not the only man in New York that can accomplish that feat."

While Matt and McKayla work along side each other they find it hard to keep their hands off each other and yes there is a cliffhanger, Matt is determined to stay away from McKayla and keep business just business!

“This was wrong, McKayla. It was my fault, and I won’t let it happen again.”

Did I mention how much I love McKayla she is strong, loyal, career driven and does not let anyone walk all over her!

Matt/Mike/No. 134 is definitely dominant, strong, career driven and so damn sexy!

Legal Affairs, Objection was a fun, quick, steamy read that I could not put down.

THREE AND A HALF STARS



As a set up novella, its a pretty solid effort. The story is simple and straightforward, the two mcs are likeable and the sexy times are sexy, though the fact that its a novella rather than a full blown novel works against it, in my opinion.

Objection begins with McKayla Dawson carrying out her drunken promise to her best friend of hooking up with a stranger via an exclusive sex club. An incredible night of bliss proceeds with the ever so gorgeous, number 134, but its not long before reality crashes in and its back to the daily grind for Mac, a newly established litigation lawyer. She finds out that the firm that she works for has been bought out and on the day that she meets her new bosses, she comes face to face with number 134 himself. They're both determined to keep their relationship professional, but intimate knowledge of each other's bodies can be the very devil.

I liked this novella for the most part. Mac is smart, speaks her mind and is quite confident. I found her likeable though I couldn't help but scrunch my nose at her penchant for relying on her best friend's money for things. I can certainly appreciate times being tough and the economy being bad, but there is such a thing as living within your own means and I thought it was somewhat at odds with her hardworking background. Matt Connover (aka number 134), is pretty decent for someone with his authority and power. He apologises when he's in the wrong and he's not afraid to speak his mind, all traits I find likeable. Though despite all this, I found it hard to connect with the characters because the story was just too short. Once I started sinking into the story, it was over and done with and I found that I just couldn't quite make that connection with the characters. What also didn't work for me was Mac's final thoughts on Matt:

He's an asshole. There is no doubt about that. But I have a feeling he's a pathetically damaged asshole, and something has made him this way. That makes me feel sorry for him, even though his words cut pretty deep.

I guess this is suppose to open up an avenue of exploration in later installments for why Matt is so anti-relationships, but having Mac glean this "truth" without there being anything to indicate it to be true, other than her adamant belief that he wouldn't go down on her if he was adverse to relationships. Not to mention, her thoughts come not long after his utter rejection of her confession of liking him, which makes her thoughts seem more of a butthurt reaction to the rejection rather than showing true insight into his character. Or at least it was to my way of thinking.

Despite these issues, I did still enjoy the story overall and definitely want to continue with the series. If you like office romances as much as I do, then I'm sure you will like this as well (though you may want to get your hands on the box set and read it all in one go)!

Okay... where can I find this club and how much does it cost? LOL McKayla Dawson (aka Mac) is a young up and coming lawyer. After her boyfriend dumped her and she wallowed in it for 6 month, her best friend, Macy, bought her a membership at the exclusive One Night Only club. This club caters to the rich who have particular tastes but don't want a relationship.

After Mac's first and only encounter, which was mind shattering, she goes to work at her new job that Monday, to find that the guys she had anonymous sex with over the weekend is now her new boss.

Matt Connover, lead partner in Connover and Crown, is definitely as shocked as Macy when she walks into the conference room on her first day. He's upset...

"You can't figure out why I'm mad? How about because I had my tongue between your legs tow days ago, or the fact we both almost overdosed on orgasms, or maybe it's because I got a fucking hard on the minute you walked in that conference room door? Take your pick... there are a variety of reasons why I'm mad."

Best lines ever.... Loved it.

They resolve to have their relationship be business only after Mac shocks him with the fact that she doesn't even know what being "Doe-eyed" means. But it doesn't last long. One more time for the road as Matt says he doesn't do relationships and it's now out of his system.

Let's see how long that lasts.

Legal Affairs was a sexy, fun, quick read. Our male and female leads are lawyers. After a one night stand, we find the female lead newly employed at the male lead's firm. Despite the fact that they can't resist each other sexually, our male lead has some serious commitment issues and can't move forward in the relationship. This doesn't work for our female lead.

The story has a bit of angst. The steam factor is medium. While it's a sexy read, it's simply not panty melting. It felt a bit contrived. It's like they can't be in the same room together without having sex or thinking about having sex. You can't even be touched without melting into a puddle?? No.

The author still manages to engage you with the law firm drama and you find yourself wanting to reach our HEA to justify the time you spent reading this. I can't say I wasn't entertained. I have to place this between 3 and 4 stars. Because I use round numbers, I'll leave this at 4 stars. I'd say it's a great beach or vacation read. It ends happy and it's not heavy or emotional.

Mac has a one night stand through this club One Night Only, and meets 134.


They have the best night/sex of their lives, but we wouldn't know because the scenes fade to black...


The next day Mac goes into the office to learn her law firm has been acquired by Connover and Crown, Monday morning she goes into work and meets 134 - Matt Connover.


This is a series and we didn't get much of a conclusion in this book, but again I was a little disappointed by the lack of hot sex. I want to read it not just hear it is hot...hellar!!

It was too short for my taste, so one star deducted. The plot was too predictable, so another star gone.
What I did like was the main characters. Matt more so. Despite him being your average man hoe, the way he spoke was different in a way. I can't think of a word to describe it... he wasn't excessively crude, and he was charming and intelligent.

I liked how the author knew what she was talking about when she was describing all the law stuff. Most authors don't back up the "Oh, he went to Harvard, meaning he's smart" statements, and I'm glad Sawyer Bennett did. It was a good quick read. I will most likely not read the sequels, only because I think each installments are too short and aren't really worth $2.99.

Give this one a try, and see it you like it. It's free on amazon, so why not give it a whirl?

Aaaahhh this series is going to drive me mad, because I'm not very patient!

McKayla Dawson is recently graduated from law school, and has thrown herself into her work following a disheartening breakup. She decides to sign up for an exclusive club that her flat mate and good friend has belonged to for some time. She has a wonderful night and takes it for the one night stand that it is. Needless to say, this won't be the last time she sees number 134.

A great, humorous start that I will be chasing down the publishing schedule! Loved McKayla..she is an entertaining character!

Bravo Sawyer Bennett for reeling me in with your free, 38 pages of reading goodness. I instantly fell in love with these two characters right off the bat even though Matt, aka number 134, seems like a real a$$hole. I think maybe 134 has met his match with McKayla.

I am now purchasing the box set (thank god it is already released) and continuing on with this story. Can't wait.

ps: I vowed recently that I would boycott these types of books that were really just a few chapters that force you to pay a crazy amount of money by the time youre done but I caved. :(

Not a a big fan of short serials but once in a while get in the mood, but all books have to be out. The lenght and waiting for me doesn't work.

This is a 6 part series and all books are out. This first book was free in amazon and really liked it. Really liked the characters, funny banter, great sexual tension, and it was hot!

Ps: finished the boxed set which includes volumes 1-6 and loved it. 5 stars overall.
