Married. No matter how many times Nadia’s predicament crosses through her mind, it always ends with the same question: What in the world have I done?
After fleeing the scene the morning after wedding, Nadia discovers her husband jumped ship too. It’s only after cryptic postcards from Africa start piling up that she realizes how far her new husband jumped. Judging by the foreign agent hunting for stolen diamonds and the woman claiming the man she married as her own husband, Nadia fears her newly acquired husband jumped too far and too deep.
While trying to untangle the mystery of her temporary husband's disappearance, Caleb issues another wager to help her and her friend out of yet another predicament. Nadia agrees. But helping her friend isn’t her only motivation . . . losing to Caleb is.
For such a short book, a lot happened in this one.
Cashing Out took me on a wild ride. From an accidental marriage to diamonds for a military coup. This book kept you on the edge of your seat. Or maybe that was just me? Not sure. Just know that I ate this all up and now I need to know what the heck is going to happen in the next book.
I also think I might have a new favorite character in this book? Not sure yet but I don't want to say anything before they die or something. Other than that, Nadia is pretty funny in this book and becoming a little bad ass. I'm also intrigued by the ending, and, ugh, I need to get into the next book stat!
A thoroughly enjoyable story with a good plot. The Miller boys are complex, even more than Nadia expected. Just wait until she meets their mother. Then there's Caleb and his wagers. Will she ever come out ahead? Another good romp from Nicolette Pierce.
Excellent story great Characters Lots of passion ,drama, action and mayyhemUnexpected twists and relationships but thankfully everything came out fine. Or did it
Love this series so much! This book had a bigger focus on Frankie as he was trying to win a bet with another chapel. Nadia was trying to sort out her marriage, and a new wager between Nadia and Caleb was set. This was another fun book in the series, with the characters as quirky as always.
This 3rd book in the series is really good. It has A great plot and lots of humor too. Spoiler alert! My only problems with this book were: 1) when Nadia gets to the door of the penthouse, Greyson is angry with her. The Greyson that the readers met & fell in love with was more sensitive than that & would've known that for Nadia to go to such lengths there was a real problem. Maybe the author should've made it so that security took her away before Greyson knew it was her. Also, when he said that all she had to do was call, she should've gotten out her phone & proved to him that she couldn't just call him. 2) Nadia acts like a love sick puppy when Greyson comes to talk to her. I'd like for Nadia to remain strong and not keep falling for someone who doesn't hear her out. On a side note, I really thought Fiona was in on a scheme with others to keep Greyson from helping David & Ian. 3) I felt bad for the man that Muffin forced into the car to go with her back to Vegas, he should've somehow escaped from Lucille. 4) Not sure I like how Nadia is back to being torn between Greyson & Caleb. Greyson said some romantic things in his apology but should have to beg for her and suffer for a while. Over all it was still a good book & very clever. As always, this author made me literally laugh out loud throughout the book.
Nadia has become my secret friend when I want to jump out of my boring self. Fiction that is just fun, improbable but an absolute blast, is what I love to read--escapism! And Pierce's books are great for that.
In this third book of the series, Nadia and her friends David and Mya, Frankie, Muffin, and Remy, attempt to reach Greyson, the hotel and casino entrepreneur, when David and Greyson's brother, and Nadia's accidental husband, Ian, is kidnapped and held for an exorbitant ransom by desperados in need of his diamonds to fund their military coup. And yes, it can get more fun at Nadia's antics to pry Greyson's new keeper away from his side. Muffin, as always, is over-the-top, and when Mom Miller joins the show, things try to come straight, though you know they never will.
Just as much fun as the first two books. For those of you who hate being left dangling over the cliff---yes, the fourth book is out, yes there's a lot of satisfaction to go around, and no, you don't have to say good-bye to some of your favorites because you get to read more "character" novels!
I cant put these books down. Seriously just get these books and see for yourself, I promise you'll be flipping pages faster than ever to find out what happens next.
Another great episode in the crazy life of Nadia Wolf. If you've read this far, you have to keep on. I think this story was a little better than the last, even. Great series!
July 2015 update. I won a copy of the Audiobook from the author in a giveaway. I was shocked to hear the British narrator for this series when I listened to this Audiobook. The strong British accent is a horrible choice for this very American story. The words are clipped and flat, not at all smooth and easy like the writing. Both the story and the narrator are good separately, but there is nothing complimentary about putting them together. I'd have to recommend reading this series instead of listening to it.
I really enjoy this author, her sense of humor, and the Nadia story, however after waiting for this book to be released, I was really disappointed to find out it wasn't the last in the series. I guess I had it in my head that it would be a 3 series, and so not finding out what happens with Nadia and Caleb in this book was so disappointing. I rated the story after I did a re-read and with a different frame of mind, knowing it was not the conclusion, which hopefully you know before you start from reviews.
It's a very entertaining story though, and the author announced the final book, Squeeze Play will be out March 28th. (It's coming! And it's hot! 3.29.2014)
All four books kept me laughing and captivated, but the following scene from book 3 Cashing Out cracked me up. My kids thought I was loosing it.
"Anyways, you're on the bill as Dragon Breath. No one know it's you."
"Dragon Breath?! So, I'm suppose to slay her with my bad breath?" I muttered.
Frankie's nose wrinkled. "Didn't you brush your teeth?"
"Of course I did. You're the one who named me Dragon Breath."
"As in fire breathing dragon, not...oh. I didn't think of that. That's unfortunate."
LMBO....cracks me up every time! This has become one of my favorite series. I'm not always a fan for first person, but I loved being inside Nadia's head.
Our card player is at it again. Muffin is back, destroying everything in site. Frankie is trying to beat Charming's Chapel, a rival. Fiona is still keeping Greyson from Nadia and everyone else. Remi has a job at another casino. Read how and if Nadia can get everything back to the way they should be. You'll laugh, cry, get angry, and happy all while on the edge of your seat.
Love the characters existing in Nicolette Pierce's imagination. This was another fantastic read that went by so quickly. I can only hope Nadia makes the right choice in the fourth and final book on Nadia. Don't let me down, Ms. Pierce.
