As the evil that is the Shadow League threatens our world, our love grows. A battle awaits, and a powerful bond emerges. Will their love be the key to victory or the instrument used to destroy both of their worlds?

Hayden and Fallon’s story is a wonderful read. They start their relationship in the dream world and when he rescues her from an awkward situation the sparks begin to fly. They are fated mates and must work together with the Hellhounds to join the resistance to help destroy the Shadow League. We now have another piece to the Shadow League puzzle to add to the rest of the spellbinding series. Can’t wait for Colby’s story.
I was so ecstatic to get my hands on this book! Hayden is a hellbound sent to rescue Fallon after she's kidnapped by the Shadow League. That was just the beginning for these fated mates. I loved learning new things about hellbounds and going along for the ride in this exciting tale. The passion and action are off the charts, and I can't wait for the next story!

This book is part of a series and should be read in order. I really enjoyed Hayden and Fallen’s story. It was full of suspense and hard to put down. The romance, emotion and spice was good. The story added to the overall plot of the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fallon gets kidnapped by the Shadow League to pull back the deadly Ghost, an assassin who is her best friend and who's other life she is none the wiser of. In her steamy dreams she met Haydon the hellhound who is her fated mate in real life. Packed with action, a rescue mission, narrow encounters, steamy sessions make this sequel an interesting sequel.
The story is part of the new Mystic River Shifters. It will have a great cast of characters, including humans and shifters. To fully understand the character's interactions and progression of events, it is best if they are read in written order because it is an ongoing saga. Each story picks up from where the last one left off (especially within the epilogue.) This story will be about Fallon Kent, Hayden, revolving around Abraham Strode, and the Resistance.
Dr. Fallon Kent has been working in England with a museum where they were ready to open an exhibit based on legendary and mythological creatures. She planned to stay several more days and even had an appointment with someone who reads Tarot cards. She will be contacted by someone claiming they were working for an anonymous individual wanting her assistance. Uneasy about the situation, she throws out an exorbitant amount of money for a meeting, and they accept. Arriving by train and met by a driver, she discovers too late that she is in danger, and becomes a prisoner in a castle. It seems, he knows Fallon and Nora are friends, and this is the only way to get Nora to do his bidding.
Hayden is the Alpha Hellhound, and he has been having dreamscapes with his fated mate, a human. When he learns from Colby, that she has been kidnapped by Abraham Strode, Hayden goes to rescue her.
Hayden: As beautiful as you are, your bravery exceeds even that. Come on. I’ll tell you when we get to the scary part. Fallon: For the record? This whole **** thing has been scary. Hayden: And yet you are willing to follow a naked man whom you’ve only seen in your dreams. Fallon: I figure you’re a **** sight safer than Strode. Hayden: I’m not sure everyone would agree with that, but where your safety is concerned, you are absolutely right. Let’s go. Follow me, stay close, and stay low.
The story is another step closer to the battle that is coming between the Shadow League and the Resistance. Strode believes himself all-powerful, but Hayden usurps that control by rescuing Fallon, his fated human mate. Her life hangs in the balance and with her permission, Hayden will claim her and initiate her transformation from human to Hellhound to save her.
Hayden: Choose. Fallon: I’ve seen you in my dreams. Felt your presence. Hayden: I have felt the same. It is not uncommon in fated mates. Fallon: Then I choose you. Hayden: Be clear that it will not be easy and that once I claim you as mine, you cannot change your mind. Fallon: I understand. I also understand that even if the alternative was not death, I would choose you. Hayden: She is mine. She has consented to be my mate and to become a hellhound. You cannot have her. Sleep now, beloved. Do not fear, for I will be with you in this life and the next, and no power in the universe will take you from me.
Captivating addition to the series as the rescue of Fallon by Hayden from Abraham the Dragon Shifter
Hayden has been seeing Fallon for the past few weeks whilst they have been meeting during her sleeping hours and this has allowed them to enjoy conjugal and intimate moments until he is asked to rescue her from the Ghosts master’s clutches.
When Fallon had spoke with her only friend, she had pleaded with her not to try and rescue her, more importantly not to do whatever it was Abraham was demanding be murdered so that she would in turn be allowed free.
When Abraham was aware that Hayden had broken in to his castle and rescued Fallon and then had managed to get her onto a bike and they were on the way to a safe have, unfortunately Fallon is shot and bleeding out. When she is attended by the sisters of the Shadow Sisters and the decision is made that the safest place Hayden can get her to during her transition is between the realms.
Nora and Colby are needing the confirmation from Fallon that her being bitten and changed to a Hellhound like her mate. She needed to confirm that she had been asked and that she knew exactly what she was agreeing to, this is as she confirms all explained thoroughly by Hayden and he is her Fated Mate and there was no alternative.
As the group of various shifters come together to prove that they are all ready to join in one movement along side the Hellhounds and Dragons and Shadow Sisters as they battle against the Shadow League which is following Abraham as the try to eradicate humans and any shifters that get in their way of the lives they are trying to eradicate.
This is a wonderful read and I am sure that you will love every moment of this wonderful story, you will be absolutely captivated by the characters and the plot which will hold you completely glued to the screen.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Since we only get one book on the Hellhounds, it's only right that this book focuses on them and their alpha and his fated mate. I've waited for Hayden's book with trepidation. This is one of the few times there needs to be more than five stars.
The background is seamlessly interwoven into the story. The twist on Hades and Persephone made logical sense. The author has in this one book remade our view of Hell and the Hollow, mythology and Hellhounds. At the same time, she's moved the overall arc forward and gave more insight into the Shadow Sisters and their role in the shifter world. Hayden has known Fallon was his fated mate so when he's asked to go on a rescue mission, it doesn't take much from Colby for him to accept. Fallon's studies make her the perfect mate for an alpha. She's able to logically accept the fact that shifters exist. While the reader doesn't get a lot of interaction between the Hellhounds to understand how their society is set up, we do get insight into their laws & responsibility. One gets the understanding that their society is based on logic and reason. Fallon fits right in. She also gives as good as she gets to Hayden and Tanner & is winning over the women. Hellhounds are one group that know their women are warriors and expect it.
We get tidbits of information about Strode and his plan. The jury is out if he thought about the adding the Hellhounds and their abilities into the equation or if he thought they'd remain in the Hallow. The reader gets the feeling they won't be remaining on the sidelines. We also get to see the comradery of the resistance shifters. The reader gets the feeling that the Shadow Sisters are going to play a major role in the battle to come & those who think male domination works best are going to get a very well deserved, rude awakening. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The ARC ties of the Resistance and the Shadow League continue to build as Hayden and Fallon are thrust into eachother's lives in this death defying book (a part of the Mystic River Shifters series). The world building continues to be stunning as Delta ventures beyond Earthly dimensions into the Hollow and the In-Between. Hayden, the Alpha of the Hellhounds, has been granted his fated mate. He will move Heaven and Earth to ensure that she is safe, healthy, and by his side for eternity (and have mercy on anyone who dare try to stop him!). Fallon knew nothing of the supernatural world before being abducted for use as a bargaining chip. Her world has done a massive 180 since waking to learn dragons and other shifters are more than mythical stories and conjecture.
Will the pull of the mating bond be enough to see these two through the rough waters ahead? Fallon has a great challenge to overcome (a couple actually), and there is the ever-present looming conflict with the Shadow League. Add to that tension within the ranks in the Hollow pertaining to numbers and entering into "topsider" conflict and out couple truly has their hands full.
It was great to see the majority of this book dedicated to the development of Hayden and Fallon's relationship. The other issues were present, but played a more secondary role in this book, IMHO. I happily received an ARC of this book and wrote this review willingly. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. (Note: it can be read as a standalone but will make much more sense if reading conjunction with the rest if the series, especially Hidden Mate (#8). Happy Reading Y'all 📚
"Long ago the hellhounds had been damned and banished from the Earth by the gods—condemned to patrol the Hollow to ensure nothing moved between Earth and the Underworld that wasn’t supposed to. The gods had forbidden the Hellhounds from taking a mate outside their kind unless he or she was determined to be a fated mate. The problem was that no hellhound had been gifted with a fated mate in Hayden’s long lifetime. Because of that, their numbers had begun to dwindle."
ah, but let's not forget the story of Persephone and Satan, shall we?
It's here! Delta James has, in my opinion, given us the most romantic storyline in her "Mystic River Shifters" series with 'Unforeseen Mate". We meet Hayden, Alpha of the Hellhounds, and Fallon, a human paleozoologist. Strange combination when you see it written out. The Fates didn't think so because Fallon's career has trained her to put the physical evidence with the mythology and legends to reach her conclusion. And what a conclusion she comes face to face with! I don't want to give more than this away because this one is phenomenal. All the danger, intrigue, and the overall plot of Shadow League and Abraham comes into play with a vengeance, and Nora, the Ghost, has revealed secrets. The Hellhounds have been introduced into the Resistance. Will they all join in the fight and if so, who will guard the Hallow? You don't want to miss it.
Hayden North is a hellhound and the Alpha of them. An explanation about hellhounds is in the book and it totally fascinated me. They are powerful. There is also an explanation about Hell/ the underworld. He is also the elder brother to Caye, the second in command to the Shadow Sisters. Fallon is Nora’s bestie and she is in London, England for her work, which is in Paleozoology and she pretty much debunks the truth about cryptozoolology using science. I was very impressed with this and I adored the book. As someone who has a degree in history with a minor in anthropology and sociology, I really enjoyed this book. Plus, I’ve been studying mythology since I was 8. Where there is mythology there are mythological creatures… Fallon is kidnapped to make Nora comply by Abraham Strode and he is one scary dude. Really, just the thought of him since he was introduced makes me shudder. We learn more about the shifters and things were explained about some of the history and more about dragons, if you’ve not read the Phantom Fire series yet. This book happens almost simultaneously with Nora’s. Fallon is Hayden’s fated mate and of course, he saves her. The fun is in the journey and boy was it a journey. Action packed, and terrifying for some parts. Hayden is awesome. I loved this book and the books are just freaking awesome. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received this advance reading copy for free and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Hayden, Alpha of the Hellhounds, has come to Fallon for months in her dreams. She is his fated mate, although she doesn't know it yet. She is kidnapped by Abraham Strode, a thousand-year-old dragon shifter, who plans to use her to force her best friend to assassinate her fated mate. Nora, the best friend and assassin, would be put in the impossible position of either killing her fated mate or responsible for Strode killing Fallon. But before that can happen, Hayden rescues Fallon and takes her to Windsong, the estate of Colby Reynolds, Canadian lynx shifter and head of the Resistance, those who stand against Strode and his Shadow League.
This story tells the tale of Hayden and Fallon, their connection and everlasting love. It has kidnapping, rescue, descent into the Underworld, turning humans to beasts, and lots of action and excitement, in and out of the bedroom. Ms. James possesses an excellent writing style and can keep you on the edge of your seat to where you don't want to put the book down, but….she tends to fall a bit short with her endings. They aren't really cliffhangers, but they also don't offer resolutions to all the conflicts set out in the stories. This is the only fault I can find in her writing, and if it was only one story without full closure, I could overlook it, but it seems to have occurred in all her books that I have read, and I have read quite a few.
In "Unforeseen Mate" by Delta James, readers are transported into the hidden world of shifters, where an alpha hellhound named Hayden defies all laws and expectations to claim a forbidden human woman, Fallon, as his mate.
From the moment Hayden rescues Fallon from the clutches of an ancient dragon, their fates become intertwined in ways neither could have imagined. Despite the dangers and consequences that come with their union, Hayden is unable to resist the pull of their undeniable connection.
As their love blossoms amidst the looming threat of the Shadow League, Hayden and Fallon find themselves embroiled in a battle that could determine the fate of their worlds. Their bond grows stronger with each challenge they face, but will it be enough to overcome the forces seeking to destroy them?
Delta James delivers a gripping paranormal romance filled with action, suspense, and steamy encounters. The dynamic relationship between Hayden and Fallon keeps readers captivated as they navigate the dangers of their supernatural world and fight for their love against all odds.
Delta James masterfully blends romance and fantasy, creating a story that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in this enchanting series.

Fallen Kent, a paleozoologist, has been hired by a London museum to consult on their new mythological creatures exhibit, a subject near to her heart. Of special interest are the hellhounds, said to patrol the border between earth and the underworld. How fitting that one of those legendary beings would be first introduced to her in a dreamscape … and what dreams they are. When she is kidnapped by a dragon shifter, it’s her hellhound who comes to the rescue.
Hayden North recognizes Fallen as his fated mate, but claiming a human has been forbidden to the hellhounds. Hayden isn’t about to let his mate slip away however, and when she’s seriously wounded during the rescue operation, he claims her to save her life, tying her to him forever. Together they’ll have to contend with challenges by disgruntled hellhounds, and the pursuit of a determined, deadly adversary.
Hellhounds are new to this shifter series and the world-building here is fascinating. The continued intrigue with the Shadow League’s plot to bring the world under their control adds adventure and danger to this steamy romance. And, as always with this series (and this author), the characters are simply wonderful.

This was a small town forbidden paranormal romance.
I loved this latest book in the series and cannot wait for Colby's story in the final book! Highly recommend! Must read!
Fallon Kent has a PhD in paleozoology. She has been having dreams of a hellhound lover. While in England she is kidnapped by the Master and locked up in his fortress to force Nora Blake, her best friend and assassin, to act on the Master's wishes.
Hayden North is a hellhound. He is the alpha/leader of the hellhounds and has a younger brother who is a troublemaker and a sister who works with the Shadow Sisters. Hellhounds live in the In Between, the area between earth and the underworld. He knows Fallon is his fated mate. He is helping the Resistance.
Hayden rescues Fallon from the Master but in the process and she gets shot. He takes her to the Hollow, where he lives in the In Between. In order to save her life he bites her to transition her to become a hellhound. Once she recovers they go to Windsong to update Colby and the Resistance. She and Nora are reunited and she shifts for the first time. They are attacked by shifters working for the Master and prevail.

Fascinating, romantic, and full of suspense! Author Delta James has added another phenomenal novel to her Mystic River Shifter series! In UNFORESEEN MATE, author James tells the story of Hellhound shifter Hayden, and his mismatched fated mate, a paleozoologist Fallon Kent who unfortunately for Hayden is a human and not suitable for mating. However, UNFORESEEN MATE is, in mho, the most romantic of all the novels in Ms. James’s Mystic River & Otter Cove series. There is still the suspense and dangerous threats from the infamous Shadow League that Delta James’s fans expect along with the fascinating paranormal characters romance readers long for. UNFORESEEN MATE is a complete standalone, so there is no need to read other books in the series first, but don’t be surprised if you feel compelled to go back and read the other books in the series to read the background story of characters who make a cameo appearance in UNFORESEEN MATE! I volunteered to read an ARC copy of UNFORESEEN MATE, and this is my voluntary 5+Star review. It is well worth your time and money! Get your copy of UNFORESEEN MATE today! 😉
Hayden North & Fallon Kent are the main characters in Delta James’ story, Unforeseen Mate, Mystic River Shifters: Book 9.
Hayden is a creature that is ‘new’ to Delta’s cast of creatures. This series has introduced several ‘new’ creatures. Hellhounds are unique in the powers that they have, the things that they can do. Who knew?
Those special abilities, along with their unique challenges, come into play when Fallon is kidnapped by a previously introduced villain, Abraham Strode. Strode is using her as leverage to control Nora Blake, the heroine/assassin in the previous story, & Fallon’s best friend. Strode’s fortress is, he believes, impregnable; will it be so against someone with Hayden’s skill set? And, Fallon & Hayden being fated mates certainly ups the ante.
We learn what happens, as well as a lot of new background info. Delta can build a world!
The overall story arc continues to build.
Can this be read as a stand-alone? Yes!
Is it richer read as a series? Absolutely!!
Is there plenty of steam, suspense, excitement? Hey! This is a Delta James story! What do YOU think?!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This time we get a Hellhound! Hayden North is the hellhound alpha and though his kind mostly reside in The Hollow, located in the In-Between (in-between Earth and the Underworld), he has recently spent a lot of time 'topside' communicating with the Resistance movement. He has also been dream-walking with his newly discovered human mate, Fallon. Now, she needs rescuing from a dragon shifter, Abraham Stoke, and he is just the hellhound for the job.
Fallon Kent has a PhD in paleozoology and had traveled to London to do a job for a local museum. Suddenly she finds herself drugged, kidnapped, and in a dungeon! It seems her best friend, Nora, has been keeping secrets. Secrets that just might get Fallon killed, or imprisoned indefinitely. She has seen that her captor is a real live dragon shifter. Does this mean that her hellhound dream lover might be real?
Though the story went along predictable lines, it was interesting to get Delta's take on Hellhounds and their realm. It also moved the Shadow League story along and gave us some new possibilities for future love stories, besides Colby's. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Delta James introduces yet another fascinating shifter, a rare hellhound. Hayden North is the alpha of his pack. Fallon, a human, and a paleozoologist who, unbeknownst to her, is Hayden's fated mate. Abraham Strode, introduced several books ago, wants Fallon and has her kidnapped. He is part of the dangerous Shadow League that has a part of the Mystic River series from the beginning. Each story brings the reader one step forward to the Resistance destroying the Shadow League.
Hayden rescues Fallon and she is injured during their escape. She is given the choice of becoming a hellhound shifter to save her life. and agrees. The love relationship between Fallon and Hayden deepen, as does the evil of the Shadow League. I recommend reading the series in order, as each book flows to the next, connecting the dots between the current and future characters. The next book in the series that focuses on Colby, an incredible and misunderstood shifter from each novel, who will possibly be a lead in destroying the Shadow League. It's a fascinating and well written series.

I love how fated mates, Hayden and Fallon have meet and been together in the dreamscape, with his promise of being together in the real world soon. Unfortunately before that happens, Strode has kidnapped Fallon and while Hayden is rescuing Fallon, she is wounded and is dying. With her consent and to save her life, Hayden gives her the mating bite which will change her DNA from human to Hellhound. I have loved all of the stories in this series and this is a great addition to it. There is constant action throughout the story which left me wondering what was going to happen next. The storyline is well developed with interesting characters. I also enjoy that characters from previous stories are making appearances throughout this story. Danger from the Shadow League and Strode is still imminent as the majority of the shifters are coming together for the big battle. It’s a wonderful story that is worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksirens and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Who knew a hellhound and his world could be so intriguing?
I had much respect for Fallon. Even after acknowledging her fear, she seemed to take her kidnapping, and all of the things Strode told her in stride.
Hayden had a number of issues going on in his world. I was surprised about Tanner and Caye. But, I guess hellhounds are just as likely to have a pack and hierarchy as any other supernatural being.
I enjoyed Hayden and Fallon's connection on a number of levels. The commitment of fated mates has always been fascinating. The icing on the cake is when the heroine being a fated mate is coupled with her strength, intelligence, and sarcasm.
This book didn't have quite as much action as I expected, and I thought Strode would make more of an appearance after the fact. It seems like we may be getting closer to the ultimate battle between good and evil. The Resistance vs the Shadow League. I wonder what the fallout will be like?
I'm looking forward to Colby and Brie's story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via BookSirens.
Fallon, a doctor of paleozoology was in London being treated to the Savoy Hotel while assisting the museum with an upcoming exhibit. The persistent Abraham Strode had her kidnappped, but fortunately her fated mate, Hayden, was able to come to her rescue. I was a bit off kilter at the description of the Underworld as I am not a sci-fi fan or one of the demonic realm although I know it exists. I had to get my head around the fact a hellhound can also be a shifter, but with a more troubling trait than the majority of the other animals. Yet once again Delta James could draw me back to the fight against the Shadow League, and I always enjoy the freedom described of the run in the wild. We are still left with a few more questions to which only this author knows the answers. Who is really behind the Shadow League, can it really be one person? Why are the Shadow Sisters so against the Resistance instead of wanting to help? The more we read, the closer we get, but still not enough. I received a copy from BookSirens Reviews and this is my voluntary and honest review.
The anticipation is growing! I am rubbing my hands together eagerly waiting for the next book. When the ultimate showdown between good and evil begins it is going to be epic! The author is doing an amazing job of all the books - telling the each couple's individual story and building on the over-arching story line that is taking place. Each and every book builds in the suspense and mystery of the battle to come.
This book is no exception. Fallon and Hayden know each other - if only in their dreams. But those dreams are enough to know that they belong together. And when they finally meet in person, Hayden and his Hellhound are determined to claim Fallon as theirs. But for that to happen, a rescue needs to take place and a hard decision needs to be made. I love these two characters and their story. But now I am impatiently waiting for the next book. If you are looking for an Happy-Ever-After full of passion, danger and a Hellhound, this just might be the book for you.

The ancient dragon and puppet master of the Shadow League kidnapped Fallon in order to force her best friend Nora to return to his nest as his best assassin. A debt is called in, and Hayden, the Hellhounds' Alpha, is sent to rescue Fallon, a human. Now that she knows shifters are more than romantic characters in steamy books, things take a turn. There are many rules for Hayden to follow. One of those is no humans. He recognized Fallon immediately as his fated mate. Will their love destroy the world or save it? Read it and find out!
I am going to be destroyed when these intertwining series are complete. Delta James came up with an even more improbable character that I haven's seen before, and she ran with it. She never disappoints, but here she went above and beyond. Fallon gives Hayden a run for his money. She is everything strong and feisty a heroine can be. And Hayden? Yes please. This is a six star book sitting on a five star shelf, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next one.
I received an advance reader copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I absolutely loved Fallon and Hayden’s story! Fallon is such a strong character: intelligent and insightful, beautiful soul and curious, and a wonderful even temperament while standing up for herself! Hayden is an alpha, but he’s not arrogant or tyrannical: a leader, a protector, and open to change. Together, as fated mates, human and hellhound they are a perfect combination. Dream sex is hot, but in person is so much better, especially with Hayden’s tricks!
Delta James keeps adding unique characters with fascinating stories that are creating this world of magic and power. Fighting against evil for the good of humanity is such a powerful idea and each of these characters have the courage to love, fight, and build a stronger world. I loved exploring Hayden’s world and learning how Fallon will fit in to her new world and bring her special strengths to the relationship.

Hellhounds. I absolutely loved this book. The descriptions of the places Hayden could go, his "gifts" and of course his commitment to Fallon was exciting.
I loved the journey they went through to get to the perfect HEA.
Fallon is not only beautiful she is intelligent and resourceful. I loved the way she thought. I am sure she could have gotten out of the pickle she was in because of her friend Nora, given enough time. But I'm glad Hayden took it to hand instead.
Hayden - alpha to the hellhounds. He had his problems with family along with helping Colby and Nora with Fallon's rescue.
I loved the "surprises" along the way.
Steam to the romance. Action from the first page.
Excellent . I will be reading this story again. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fallon was in England to see about a project by a museum, and was offered another opportunity… but the offer was bogus, sending her to a castle on an island inhabited by a very old dragon, who was determined to rule the world… meanwhile her best friend, who was a lynx shifter, but the shifter part previously unknown, sent a hellhound named Hayden to bring Fallon to safety… finding secret passages to get her away from castle, but she was severely wounded in the escape… he knew she was his fated mate immediately on seeing Fallon. Haydon was head of the hellhounds who were able to go between regular earth and the underworld, with females being very rare, but could he turn a human successfully to help save his clan???? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Loved it. Things continue to heat up in the fight between good and evil this time fate brings the alpha of the hellhounds his own fated mate. Fallon is smart feisty and open minded esp with the type of job she has. Good thing because fate has lots of surprises in store for her but she must survive to see them.danger lurks around every corner for those fighting to stop a war from coming. Action packed well paced exciting plot twists will grab and hold u to the last page. Heat and spice abound as fate brings mates together along with strong determined women who aren't going to be coddled or left out.
A must read wonderfully written beautiful series that feels very real and makes u want to go live there with these Wonderful rich characters with such great personalities. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Nora's "Master" has discovered her deceit. His leverage over her comes in the form of a kidnapped (human) woman, Nora's only friend, Dr. Fallon Kent. Can Nora continue assisting The Resistance, or will she have to kill two of their greatest resources in order to save Fallon? And is there anyone who can rescue Fallon from Lundy Island and the old dragon once known as Apophis (aka Abraham Snode)?
The threads are being pulled together. Hayden North, alpha of the Hellhounds, and one of the only creatures capable of killing a dragon, is being recruited by his friends in The Resistance. Can the Hellhounds be persuaded to join the fight on their side?
Lots of glorious story in this ninth book in the Mystic River series, where Fallon and Hayden finally meet in reality. Thoroughly enjoyable addition to the larger series.
Hayden North is the Alpha of the hellhounds in the Hallow. They are condemned to to patrol the Hallow from anything entering when they aren't supposed to. The hellhounds are on the brink of extinction. Fallon is best friends with Nora and is kidnapped by a dragon shifter trying to force Nora's compliance. When Fallon starts to have dreams of a hellhound that shifts to man, she is unafraid when shows up to save her. When they are lamost home free, a stray bullet interrupt ls their escape. Now Hayden is forced with losing his fated mate or marking her to save her. Their path to HEA is marred by an oncoming war and possible challenge from Hayden's younger brother. Overall, this was an Rast and enjoyable read. I cannot wait for Colby's book.
