The Daughter of Fire and Fury @oliviamgeib
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
🫑 Kisses only

I was so pleasantly surprised by this debut! Fae Courts, plot twists, a fierce FMC, hidden secrets, mystery, and action galore! This one was definitely giving ACOTAR vibes but make it closed door!

I loved that it kicked off right with little action in the training ring and then the twists started twisting immediately! A Daughter of Fire and Fury is part of a trilogy and book 1 and 2 are currently available!

Content Warnings: violence, gore, innuendo

I enjoyed this! it felt a bit rushed at certain times, because the characters connected really quickly, but overall I didn't mind. I like how the FMC is passionate for revenge (🤭). she did feel a biiit child-ish at time, but it also makes sense since she i 17 years old 🙌🏼

fae, courts, magic, enemies and betrayel ✨

it ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m excited to see what happens next 👏🏼

thank you to the author for sending me a copy 💕

The book is overall fantastic. The only gripe I have with it is it feels a little bit slow in the beginning, but after that it really takes off running. The relationships and dialogue between characters is excellent and extremely well written. All of the love interests are masterfully written with great sexual tension and energy between them. This is a great book for people with keen eyes, as you can pick up on things before they are told in the story, little hints place throughout for the attentive reader. The main character is one of the best. They are written, both flawed and powerful. They feel like a real person place in the world that they know very little about, fighting for survival and freedom. Willa the great table slayer never gives in and always keeps fighting even if all hope seems lost. There are many standout moments throughout the book a couple of which I will highlight in this review. One of them is when Willa and Alice have their secret conversation no spoilers! Another great one is the fight with the nixies excellent action and you really feel the desperation. Chapter 28 is written masterfully and is one of the best dream sequences I have ever read in literature, absolutely stunning writing. Another absolutely standout moment is the relationship between Willa and Raven again no spoilers but I love Raven. The ending will leave you both burned and breathless can’t wait for the next book. It’s hard to really sell this book because it has so many great aspects but I think I can summit up in three words. BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Was packed with plot, relatable characters and a very well thought out and crafted world! I simply didn't want to put the book down!  I loved that the main characters were relatable and also super sassy. Make for a few moments of humor amidst the intensity of the situation the MC was dealing with!

I'm so excited to see what comes next from this author and this series!

This scratches an itch for a well-thought-out fae world. It was like cozying up in a warm blanket of familiar faerie stories, then the blanket ignites in a fiery rage (in the best possible way).
Willa makes an excellent strong female lead. Her strength matures, deepens, and changes as her experiences do in such an organic way.
This was hard to put down.
Can't wait to read the next book!

Absolutely blown away. What an amazing debut book by a young new author. I was invested with the story and the characters right out the gate. Her ability to describe places, people and emotions is poetry in motion. My breath was taken away multiple times in this epic tale. I cannot wait for the second book to come out and see how this truly unique story unfolds. Cure your SJM hangovers with this amazing read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book! To be completely honest, fantasy is not my favourite genre, but I had to support a local indie author. I really loved the characters, the unexpected twists, and the faerie and magic elements! I’m looking forward to reading book two!!

This was such a good book! It was captivating and transported me to a world of fantasy, which is exactly what I want a book to do. I was lost in a land of faeries and mortals as the main character discovers who she is and what her purpose is. This book left me wanting more, and I'm excited for the sequel!

I was fortunate to be able to chat with the author of The Daughter of Fire and Fury, Olivia M. Geib. Intrigued by the description, I immediately downloaded and binge read it. My only regret being that I didn’t read it sooner.

The beautifully written book follows Willa, a strong FMC, after her sisters disappearance leading her to Elphyne. Where she is introduced to new creatures, unfamiliar kingdoms, and magick. It gives ACOTAR/The Cruel Prince/How Does it Feel? vibes in the best kind of way. Tropes and micro tropes that we all love are present throughout the story.

I really appreciated that the characters were well developed and each had their own personality. The writing style was unique and really contributed to the experience of reading the book leading it to be quite the page turner. Although, the plot was a little bit predictable, I still really enjoyed it and there was something that was unexpected at the end, leaving the reader on quite a cliffhanger.

With that being said, I do recommend this book and I am (not so patiently) waiting for the second book to be released.

ARC read 🤩

Willa is fierce but so lovable. It is a little slow to start with but once it picks up oh man does it get going fast. The plot is filled with amazing twists and turns that keep you hooked and needing more and more of the story. It makes you not want to put it down and keep going till you reach the end.

I can’t wait for this series to continue!

This book was so good. I kept wanting to read more after I put it down. At first I was unsure about how I felt about the plot but the world building and the direction ended being exactly what I needed.

Also the end of the book makes me glad the sequel is out. I will be immediately purchasing it.

This book took me 4.45 hours to read.

If you're really into fantasy and mortals crossing into magical realms, this book is going to be for you. It's fast paced and well written, with a plot that has lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed Geib's worldbuilding and characters. While I don't see myself continuing in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and I look forward to seeing what she releases in the future. Check this one out!

This felt a bit like coming home. I saw glimpses of other great books reflected in this one. "An enchantment of Ravens", some Sarah J. Maas, and other books I've enjoyed in the past led me to this one.

The pacing was a bit off in some parts, but I like the confidence if the MC and the cliffhanger leaves me wanting more.

This indie YA fantasy was really well written! The characters were fun, but the setting and faerie world felt too similar to ACOTAR. If you’re an ACOTAR fan, this is perfect. But I thought this was a great, fast paced romantasy nonetheless.

Omg this book was so amazing, especially for being a debut novel. The world building and story building was soooo good. It made me just want to fly through the pages, which I did. Willa was an awesome FMC and I can't wait to see her character progression in the next book. Also can I have a Raven? He was so swoon worthy! Such an amazing protector and just helped her through everything. I felt like I was in this book from start to finish, it was so detailed. I can't wait for the next one!

As we near the release of book two of this series, I just want to express the love I have for this book. Even if a cringe a bit when I read it now, seeing all the things I would do differently because I’ve grown so much as a writer between TDOFAF & TPOSAS.

This book was my first introduction to the world as a writer. It was the biggest learning curve of my life. A series of leaps of faith in myself.

More importantly, it was a love letter to female rage, my own history and the books that have kept me afloat when I felt like I was drowning. It was an ode to the angry eldest daughters. The girls who found family in friends and not blood. The survivors.

I knew when I published this book that no one might care. No one might even read it. But I knew deep down that as long as it found the people it was meant to find - I’d be okay. And I am so happy to say that I believe that has happened. And I sincerely hope it continues to. ❤️

Where to start.
Firstly, this isn't usually the genre of book I would pick up first. But being that it was a local author to my home town I wanted to support her. Being told what it was compared to made me extremely skeptical, and very hesitant to actually open it. But let me tell you that once I did I was immediately drawn in. The writing style, the story line. At no point did I find myself growing bored. I cannot wait for more from Olivia! I NEED more. ❤️‍🔥
