~*4 Star Review*~

I received a complimentary copy of Fan Girl from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was a bit skeptical about reading Fan Girl, because I'm not a fan of rock star romance. Generally, they are cliche, and filled with disgusting language. Fan Girl was a breath of fresh air to that affect.

We are introduced to a young, Ali Dawson-Pierce. Unlike most young teens, she is comfortable in her own skin, although she is short and chunky. She has a tense home life, dealing with a rude and prude mother, and a push over father. Ali lives to follow her favorite band, Rolling Bridges. She is their biggest fan, following them from Garage Band, to small bars.

As the years pass, Ali goes off to college side by side with her best friend Stacie. Transforming her life and saying goodbye to a past left best behind her, Ali feels a sense of accomplishment. She's an up and coming tattoo artist with one of the nicest studios in NY when she decides to take her talents back home to Cali, where she opens her own studio, with an all women team. She still carries on her tradition of following Rolling Bridges, as many concerts as she can get to.

Jump forward a bit to the present. Ali still hasn't found love, and is a little backwards when it comes to men. Although she has transformed her body from chunky to strikingly beautiful and fit, she doesn't put herself out there too much. She has one online bestie that is a guy, but other than that, she is rather reserved.

New Years Eve rolls around, and of course the girls hit the town to party it up! Ali is dressed to the nines, and having the time of her life, when Mr. Tall Dark and Deadly Handsome starts grinding on her, She never looks at his face, just revels in the moment of ecstasy. When the desire consumes them both to the point of explosion, Ali is drug off to his hotel room where sparks fly, and sheets are rumpled. But she still doesn't know mystery man's name, until she finally sees his face.

Enter Deklan Thomas~lead singer of Rolling Bridges, the band Ali follows with a fierce loyalty. He always appreciates his #1 fan girl. When Deklan and Ali have their one night stand, he senses the connection immediately. But it isn't until he meets Ali again that the gravitational pull brings them together like magnets. Deklan knows he has found his ONE and Only and pulls out all of the stops he can to hold the key to her heart.

Deklan is NOT your typical rockstar...he is sexy, and sweet. He sees the good in people, but if you piss him off or offend him, he's gonna tell ya. He has Ali's best interest at heart 110%, as well as that of his momma. He is a true gentleman, but a freak in the bed.

What I LOVED about Fan Girl...the diversity. You can tell immensely that the author has lived a life abroad. From Paris to the sweet Irish Couple~the O'Briens. Even her Irish dialect and dialogue are spot on. I love the old rocker fill, Stacie is all rockabilly, and Deklan even has a James Dean look to him, which is just sexy, until he shaves him damn head...yeah I'm with Ali on that one...thick hair is sexy! I love how when Ali does something, she goes all in, and never half asses anything. The characters love deeply and whole-heartedly.

Constructive Criticism: The story lacked emotion. Some scenes I felt like Ali was rambling about like a crazy person, hitting and missing her thoughts about what she needed to do or what was happening at random. There was a lot of description that wasn't necessary, and some of the scenes left me needing MORE description, more detail. I really didn't need to know every detail of every outfit they wore through out the story, I thought that was really overdone.

Brandace Morrow is a promising new author, her writing technique is different and refreshing. She tells you the story as she sees it. I was happy to see Ali and Deklan get their HEA, and can't wait to see what else the series holds.

Brandace has written a great debut novel! She has literally written every woman's dream!

One of the things I really enjoyed about this story is how committed the couple are to one another - there isn't massive amounts of teenage style drama. This is a mature relationship. And Ali is very relatable. We've all felt worthless for some reason or another. But I love how she takes charge of her life and changes it for the better.

Without giving too much away, if you love rockstars and if you have ever found yourself being an ultimate Fan Girl for a band, you're going to love this book.

Fan Girl by Brandace Morrow is a 2014 independent publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Deklan and Ali meet before Deklan becomes a rock star. Ali is a teenager at the time and she's a little on the heavy side and is dealing with her parents who are mapping out her life for her.
Like a lot of teenage girls Ali is smitten by the rock star image and the excitement of hanging around with the band. As Ali prepares for college and decides to take control of her own destiny, the band begins to gain notoriety. Deklan and Ali are no longer in contact and Ali has undergone a stunning transformation. So, when the two meet after Ali completes college, they don't event recognize each other when their paths cross again.
For ages Deklan has been rocking Ali's world... now it's Ali's turn to rock his. Deklan has never turned into the stereotypical rock star. He is sensitive and really cares about Ali. When the time comes for him to step up and do the right thing by Ali he doesn't hesitate. Suddenly, Ali's life changes and she is wrapped up in the life of rock music, the love of her life, and what looks like a promising future. But, other changes can come just as fast and Ali will learn life can turn on a dime.
I've said this a many times before, but when an author attempts to go with first person narrative I really think they should hold off until they are just a little more experienced. This the first novel for this author and she did an admirable job of telling the story from Ali's point of view. I'm still a big third person narrative fan and do wish we could have gotten inside Deklan's head a little. At times Ali was just all over the place. She rambles a lot and I guess that could just be a part of the character's personality, but it could wear thin at times. The story did drag in some places and a lot of attention was given to the descriptions of cars, houses, and clothing. Confess ladies - you've had fantasies of the rock star lifestyle, so I think some readers will like those details in the book. For me though, it slowed the pace of the novel and was distracting.
I did like Ali's character and her resolve to take charge of her life and live it on her own terms. Thanks goodness she moved away from her parents and chose to really live and enjoy her life. Deklan was the perfect book boyfriend. All you ladies that like the rock star type will love him.
I think this author shows potential. I will rate this one 3.5 - rounded to 4.

This is the story of Ali and Deklan. I loved the first half of the book, but didn't enjoy the second half as much. Not a lot happened. There was nothing to overcome and no real conflicts to resolve.

5 Fan Girling Stars

I typically love rock star romances, so when the opportunity presented itself to review Fan Girl for the official blog tour, I was all over it. Fan Girl is fabulous because it steps outside the box. Brandace Morrow is a fabulous story teller. She develops her characters so well and tells the story so flawlessly that I became lost in Ali’s world. Ali is super young when we begin the story, 15 to be exact, a little rebellious and a huge fan of music! Her bestie Stacie and Stacie’s brother Bobby spend every one of their spare minutes checking out bands. Some in underage clubs, some at concerts and others in their garages or backyards rehearsing and trying to live their dreams. This is where Ali first discovers Rolling Bridges and Deklan. Deklan Thomas lead singer of Rolling Bridges and totally sexy hottie. Did I mention he’s hot?? Ali is fascinated and transfixed, from the moment she first lays eyes and ears on Deklan and the band perform. And so begins the tale of a young overweight teenager, with rotten, mean parents, and dreams of living a different life. Her life, on her own, on her terms, without the stigma of being “that girl”. Turns out that college is the best thing that ever happens to Ali. She is given the opportunity to start completely anew, with Stacie by her side; she becomes the woman she wants to be. A successful, independent woman with a totally kickin’ body and a super successful business of her very own.
Fan Girl is incredibly well written, the story is developed from page one, and continues throughout. It’s all about the story with this one. There is romance, heartache, happiness, sexy times, concerts, and FANTASTIC characters. Rock Star romances are one of my fave types of books to read this one was so different and refreshing to read. The chemistry between Ali and Deklan is a slow build, their relationship is one built on friendship first. There was no falling into bed together in the first 50 pages. But when they are finally “there” HOLY HELL HAWT!!!

This story takes place over a number of years, and follows Ali throughout her life. It doesn’t focus solely on Ali and Deklan either; there are many, many characters to fall in love with. Bobby, Stacie, the entire band, Bernie and Estelle, Reed and the ladies of Shell Distortion. Fan Girl is most definitely an ensemble read with the focus on Ali and Deklan, however I really really hoping that Brandace is going to give us many more stories with these characters. Fan Girl is the perfect book to kick off an entire series based on the whole crew. I loved Fan Girl and if you love rock star romances like I do, you’ll love it too.

I’m a greedy, greedy girl and I’m waiting over here with grabby fingers for more Fan Girl.

This is the debut novel from Brandace Morrow. It was a great debut novel and I really enjoyed it. It’s a great rock star.

The story is about Ali who we first meet when she is 15 and a bit of rebel. She often goes to gigs with her best friend which is where she first meets Deklan and his band Rolling Bridges. Ali quickly becomes their number 1 fan from day one and in a way by posting videos of the band they find fame. Ali always thought someone like Deklan would never be interested in girl like her. The story then skips forward a number of years. Ali has gone about transforming her life, she has changed her image totally and is not the girl Deklan would remember. However when fate throws them into each other paths again can Ali really take a risk and be with Deklan or will she let past insecurities get in her way?

If you’re a fan of rock stars you will love Deklan who seems so real and very down to earth. It was easy to connect to both Ali and Deklan and they both had great chemistry together. I could really relate to all the issues and thought Ali had at the beginning of her story. Ali is a very likeable character and I loved how she would take charge of her life and knew exactly what she should do. I loved the part where the ‘tweets’ are used in the story nearer the beginning.

The story is very well written and flows really well. Once I started reading I wanted to keep reading to find out more about the characters. There is lots of drama that happens throughout the book. As I have already said this was a great debut novel from Brandance. I also hope we get some more of Ali and Deklan as its feels like there is more explore with them.

Overall a great sexy rockstar read, which I loved.

First off let me say that I had the privilege to beta this book and I was in love with it from the beginning. This book had me hooked from and I wanted to know more about what was going to happen. I laughed, cheered, scream and shouted and than I was mad because I didn't want to leave their lives. I loved the fact that Ali never really conformed to the way that people thought that she should be or her parents. She was an outspoken chubby, quick witted woman who wanted to live by her own ways. Was it love at first sight when she first meet Deklan of course but she never thought that she was his type. In the end it didn't matter because she stood behind the band through out their career from beginning to end. It wasn't until she saw a video of herself that she decided that she wanted to change how she was and boy did she change. Throughout the years she still followed the band but she never let them see her until one day and than things changed. She had this online friend who was the best ever and was always there for her no matter what and the fact that she never knew what he looked like made it all the better until she found out who he was. Her life went through one change after the other and things only got better in the end. Did Ali ever get her happily ever after with Deklan well that is where you will have to read this wonderful book and find out, but trust me you won't be disappointed by it either.

3.5-4 stars. I loved the first half of this story hard. I think every girl could easily relate to Ali.

Ali first meets the hunky rocker Deklan when she was a chunky awkward teenager. Deklan is ever young girls fantasy. His band starts off playing local gigs round the city and Ali would tag along with her best friend and friend's brother. Ali becomes the bands number one fan. The band adores Ali. Eventually the band gets picked up and becomes an over night success story, but they never forget their number one fan, Ali. The band saves a ticket for Ali at ever venue they play. Ali has a life defining moment when she finally sees herself as everyone views her. She slowly battles her weight and self esteem. <----- this is my favorite part of the story. I loved her journey to become mentally and physically healthy. She did it every step on her own. Flash forward many years and suddenly she's fave to face with Deklan. Only he doesn't recognize her. The story that unfolds from that point was realistic and really refreshing. I loved being in her head. I will admit I did find myself at times skimming. BUT.... I loved the stories length. I'd rather skim parts than wish the story was longer. This was Brandance's debut novel. I would recommend this story to a reader who enjoys really likable characters and a story you can spends hours reading.

Let me preface this review by saying it's not often you read a debut novel and think I LOVE THIS BOOK. But, I totally did love this book. I couldn't put it down and when I did I couldn't get Deklan off my mind.

The characters are so relatable. Ali starts off as this insecure girl with weight issues but she grows up and grows into her kick-ass body. She has a kick-ass personality, too. She's strong, witty, and independent - she's definitely someone I could be friends with.

Deklan is this super hot rocker God. He's sexy but in a sophisticated, almost understated way. But, it's not his good looks that will get you. He's a charmer through and through. He will melt your panties with just his words.

I loved watching Deklan and Ali work through their issues. Their relationship was interesting and funny and so damn sweet. Deklan loves his girl with everything he's got - it made me jealous.

My only complaint is that the author got a little wordy and repetitive sometimes but that is something that will come from experience. I'm looking forward to watching this author grow and improve her writing skills and I'm definitely looking forward to more of the Rolling Bridges!

So as I loved the story and the characters, Deklan was hot in bed and out of it. Ali was a fiesty, beautiful young women. Both Ambitous and know what they want in life. The love these guys shared was beautiful and real. That being said Brandace Morrow has a great writing style, very different... in a good way. I enjoyed her style of writing and would love to see more from this Author. If you are looking for a light hearted read with a little bit of the good stuff this is the book for you. I know we all like a break from the full on sex books and this one did hit the spot for me. The sex scenes are all out Rockstar as you would expect and the story is just beautiful. a beautful story beautifully written.

This story is ridiculous. I skimmed most of it cause I wanted to see just how absurd things could get. This story was weird and Ali really had a horse shoe up her ass with all the amazing things that happened to her.
Also in this day and age, with technology and social media websites, I am sure somewhere in the 7+ years Dek and the band members who worked with Bobby ( Ali's best friends brother and popular photographer) would've seen a picture of Ali.
Some things were just to far fetched to believe one being the fact Dek didn't know he was texting Ali after she said she got free tickets to all RB's concerts. Just how many people do they let have free tickets to all their concerts? And after she got the surprise of her life half way through the book and it was all roses and rainbows just made the last half painful to read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I just finished Fan Girl by Brandace Morrow & loved it! It's a unique twist to the Rockstar Stories we normally read. I loved the way Ali & Deklan's life started out to where it ended. Ali is unique heroine that a lot of us can relate to especially girls who are reading YA/NA Genres. The sex was steamy and the rocker was delicious!

I loved this book! Deklan is so a new top 10 BBF loove that sexy rocker! & Love Ali she is such an awesome heroine, strong and independent. Wish we would've seen more of Ali and Deklan down the road but thats just me being greedy haaaa. Definitely a new fav author.

I was very excited when I saw this book. I have to admit that I am one of those fan girls who imagined what it feels like to be with a rockstar crush. Who doesn't?! There are moments that I really can relate to Ali but I just thought that her life was too perfect (from the moment she went to New York). I was looking for more conflict wherein the characters can grow more. Maybe, her life is what every fan girl would want to have.. and yeah, maybe it's just me who wants to find more depth in the story.
I have to commend the "friends" in the story, I can say that I like the roles of the friends because in real life, friends are our everyday miracles.

Meg's Review:
This was SUCH a fantastic read. I was instantly hooked. I got so hooked with this book that the first chapter break that I could bare to pull myself away, I ran and emailed the author raving about this book.

I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down.

Ali has a wonderful story. It contains things that all of us have felt at one point of another. I instantly loved her. Throw in some family drama and a rock star and I was hooked. Line and Sinker.

Now meet Deklan. I Loved him. I mean every part of the book. He never had areas that I hated, or times that I wanted to knock some sense into him. He was just perfect. Well, not perfect, but almost perfect in a way that makes you fall in love with him.

He is a rock star with a heart, and even when he is being reckless and living his famous life, he is still a good guy. He also has this personality that drives my crazy. In a good way. He had me in stitches at some points and all gooey at others. #MeltMyHeart

FanGirl

This is a story of finding your love and keeping it. Even though Deklan and Ali have a past, the more recent events contains din it have thrown them for a loop. They both know that they have a future, but not where it is going to lead them. Even though I knew where this novel was going, I still didn't see a lot of it coming.

I Highly recommend this read for anyone that loves a good Music related read. This is a read for anyone who loves rockstars and a great story. 5 Stars!

** DEBBIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

Let me start off by saying this book is not your typical Rock Star romance novel. I loved this book and honestly could not put it down and was sad when I finished it. The author wrote this book with not all your typical rock star stereotypes. The characters were so relatable and I still can’t get this book out of my mind.

This book follows the lives of Ali Dawson-Pierce and Deklan Thomas. Ali is Rolling Bridges number one fan and watched them start as a garage band and make it to Rock star status.

“I’m into garage bands, Rolling Bridges to be specific, and not just for the view. These guys had the talent to make it far. I knew it now.”

You meet Ali Dawson- Pierce a girl who is not your typical romance novel chick. She is chunky and short but is comfortable with herself. Her home life is horrible. She comes from money but her parents verbally abuse her and neglect her and she uses food for comfort.

“At five foot two and a size fourteen frame, at least I was consistent at something: maintaining my weight at a solid one hundred eighty-five pounds.”

“Instead of turning to drugs or alcohol to cope with my overbearing never-satisfied parents, I turned to food, and thus became a statistic.”

Ali enters college and sees what her drug of choice has done and makes a transformation from a chubby short girl to a beautiful woman.

“My heart stops and I feel instantly nauseated as I watch the overweight blob in a black t-shirt waddling across the stage.”

“Deklan can’t get his arms all the way around me. I give a sob and Stacie still thinks I’m excited. Look at how fucking fat I am! Why haven’t you told me I look like the Pillsbury dough boy?”

Then you have Deklan an up and rising rock god! Let me say I still can’t stop thinking about him. Tattooed and pierced in all the right spots if you know what I mean, but truly a sweet and caring man. He always said the sweetest things that would put a huge smile on my face.

“I don’t see where it lands because there’s a silver barbell in the middle of his dick that has caught my attention. It’s vertical and must be called the G-spot search and rescue. I point to it, “That’s genius.”

This book was not filled with cheating and lies and all that teenage drama which was a breath of fresh air. It was about growing up and taking a chance on love. I enjoyed seeing them learn from each other and loved watching their relationship grow. The chemistry between them was extremely HOT but it was also interesting and funny.

“You’re so beautiful you make my heart hurt.”

“Did you just bite me?” I lean away from him and shake my head no, warily. “I think you did.””

After years of not seeing each other a tweet about yoga changes it all.

Ali was his biggest fan from age 15 and circumstances brought them back together and Deklan was not going to let the girl of his dreams slip away. The story is about their journey and growth and taking that chance even though you have no idea what could happen. Just believing in faith!

“I know one thing is certain. I will forever be his fan girl.”

****An Amazing 5 Stars to Brandace Morrow's Debut Novel****

Ali, the main character in the book is 15 she is over weight but a bit of rebel when we first meet her. Her parents are Stuck up social climbers and the only good thing in her life is going to gigs with her best friend Stacie and her older brother Bobby and one band in particular is the band Rolling Bridges. Deklan the lead singer is Hot, and the music is good, Ali quickly becomes their number 1 fan and also video records the band playing at their gigs. Bobby gets a job as a roadie so Ali can always get tickets. The band use the videos as demo tapes and soon they get discovered. Ali watches from a distance as the groupies flock to get Deklan's attention, she always thought he would never be interested in girl like her.

We jump forward a few years and Ali has changed her image totally and is not the girl Deklan would remember. Then fate throws them together...

This is only my second book that I have read which was themed around the music industry or 'Rockstar books' as I have heard them mentioned in book circles. Deklan seems really grounded, in fact he was the ideal Rockstar idol... He was easy to like from the start, he treated Ali with respect which I liked.

Ms Morrow has written Ali and Deklan's characters beautifully, I felt for Ali as she struggled with her parents unlovable attitudes and I was so glad that she managed to meet her grandparents and that they ultimately give her the means to be her own person.

Another aspect of the books is the friendship Ali starts with her 'online Tweet friend' the messages are really well done and added to the story, half way through the book I had a sneeking suspicion about this mysterious online buddy... but I will say no more on that subject because I don't do spoiler reviews.

All I can say is that this Debut novel is very well written - the flow and the storyline, the supporting characters and also the 'Gypsy Vanners' (I am a horse nut...If I could buy any horse now It would be one of those or a Friesian - which is also mentioned in the book) I just was so in love with this story I couldnt put it down and I basically read it in one whole day! Yep I was up till 3.30am this morning reading this book!

I look forward to reading more of Ms Morrow's work - In fact I think that the Band could give more books - as I said the supporting characters were all interesting - Stacie, Bobby and the other band members could all feature in their own books (Hope you are taking note Brandace?)

I would recommend this to any 17+ reader who loves a great romance story

Once again - LOVED IT - Well done Brandace you have a new 'Fan Girl'

Book one in the Los Rancheros Series.
I gave this book 5 Rockin Stars.

I wasn't to sure about this book when I started reading it. BUT for anyone that has ever been a fan girl this is a must read! I fell in love with these two main characters the more that I continued to read.
They're not your same ol same ol characters that you're always reading about in the rocker books. Ali is a normal girl who grows up with parents that care more about their status and themselves then they do about their daughter. She learns to cope with this through music. But this girl has dreams and it is to make herself better than way her parents perceive her to be. Deklan is your average rock star. Yes he does sleep around, but he has a heart too. He sees Ali as a friend and a huge fan and he makes sure that she gets the recognition for always being there for him and the band. Ali eats her emotions so in turn she is a bit chubby, she hates the way she looks, but when she goes off to college with her best friend she has a fresh start and she decides to do something about it and takes control of her life. Years later she sees Deklan again, although she has been going to their concerts frequently she stays out of the limelight and they have not seen her in years. When they finally do. When Deklan finally does, what is he going to think? When they have encounter after encounter on accident what is fate saying? Do they belong together? And if they do can they get past all that is in their way to have their HEA?

This book gave me so many feels. I could see this happening in real life. I don't think that either one of these characters has a mean bone in their body. It was a refreshing read to finally see a man do the right thing. And for a woman not to be a gold digger. These two beautiful souls loved each other even before they realized who the other one was. They gave with their whole hearts and never looked back. I love love love this book!!! I cannot wait to read what is coming up next in book 2 <3

3.5 ROCKIN' YOUR HEART OUT STARS!

This is a very romantic story with a HEA! I really loved the first half of this book, but the last half for me was lacking, because nothing exciting really happened other then what I originally predicted. BUT, the first half was so good that I could not put it down to get anything accomplished!

I really like both characters, Deklan and Ali. They are extremely relatable right from the beginning and they both seem like real-life everyday people, not just book characters. Ali dealt with a weight issue when she first started following the band at the age of 15. This is something that constantly bothered her and she decided to do something about it after watching a video of herself with her friend. Ali is not a weak willed character and it showed by her actions throughout the story, not only dealing with her weight but with her life in general.
I must say, Deklan is definitely your dreamy rock-star, everyone would love to have as theirs. That is, if they can cope with the crazy lifestyle that comes with musicians. Deklan stays with Ali no matter what happens, showing he is a genuinely, great guy.

“Deklan has ingrained himself in my heart. He dug himself in and has been unshakable through all my doubt. I love him.” - Ali

I was hoping for a little more to happen towards the end of the story. I liked the end, but I just prefer a little more action to engage me. This story becomes predictable and I was getting to the point that I wanted the book to just end already.

Overall, if you are a rock-star romance reader, I think you will enjoy Fan Girl. Deklan and Ali are two amazingly, sweet people that will capture your heart and stay with you long after you finish reading the book. For a debut novel from Ms. Morrow, it was an AMAZING JOB!

I give Fan Girl, 3.5 ROCKIN' YOUR HEART OUT STARS!

-XOXO

Brandace Morrow has given us a great debut novel! She took us inside Ali's world as she went from a chunky teenager that couldn't do anything to make her parents happy, to a fit & healthy adult who knew what she wanted and went after it! Ali has always owned who she was, not caring what anyone else thought! Music has always been her escape....especially the band Rolling Bridges! She became a huge fan when they were playing in garages & stayed their biggest fan as they became number one around the world!

Deklan Thomas is the lead singer of Rolling Bridges! He enjoys his life and his success! He isn't the type to be seen out with tons of women! He enjoys his time with them, but he doesn't lead anyone on! He knows the 'One' is out there and refuses to settle with just anyone! He has met someone online that has become his best friend! She doesn't know that he is huge success! She just thinks he's a regular guy & that's what he wants, someone that likes him for who he is, not what he does! Even tho they've been best friends for years, only talking thru text but never meeting, he knows that's the type of woman he wants! Dek isn't your typical rockstar.....even with the success he has, he's still just your typical sweet & charming sexy guy!

The chemistry that Ali & Dek have is undeniable! They love whole heartily & refuse to let anything come between them! I think every girl wants to find 'that' person that wants her for her & will love her unconditionally like Dek does with Ali! <3

This was such a good book! It was nice reading a rockstar romance that wasn't full of terrible language, drugs & cheating! The only reason I gave it 4stars instead of 5 is b/c it tended to have too much detail on things like clothing & the surroundings, and not enough emotional detail! Toward the end, I started connecting with the characters more, feeling more of their emotions! So I think as Brandace continues to write, she will improve on this! If she continues this style of writing, with added emotions, I think she is gonna have tons of 5-stars!! I can't wait to read more from her!

Holy amazeballs!! Brandace Morrows debut novel Fan Girl is absolutely amazing. Fan Girl will take you on one emotional roller coaster ride that you will want to do again and again. It had me frustrated, sad, happy, frustrated some more, and happy all over again. It pulled me in from the beginning and held me captivated all way till the end.
Ali meets Deklan and his band Rolling Bridges when she is still in high school and they are still playing in dive bars. Ali becomes their biggest fan and goes to every dive bar they play in.
Deklan just wants his band to hit it big. When he meets Ali and sees that she is recording the show, he asks if she can make them copy. He tells her that she will always have a ticket to their show even when they hit it big for doing this. Other than getting the recording from her, he pays Ali no attention.
Ali moves to New York for college and starts to develop the confidence she needs as a women. She is an amazing artist and turns that creativity into producing awesome tattoos. Rolling Bridges hits it big and she has a ticket to every show for free, even the ones in Europe.
Ali and Deklan meet by chance on New Year’s Eve. Deklan does not know who Ali is. What ensues is misunderstandings, confusion, and a lot of craziness. The chemistry though between a grown up Ali and Deklan is off the charts raging hot!!
Brandace has crafted a wonderful, fast paced read. It pulls the reader in and takes them along for the ride. You experience and feels what the characters are going through along with them, all the pain, heartbreak, sadness, love, friendship, and lust. Not only are the main characters great, but the secondary ones are just as important and that something to the story. I cannot wait to see what Brandace comes up with next.

Another great read of this year! Brandace Morrow's debut novel succeeded to give me goosebumps and smiles, made me happy and dreamy. Just what I needed now.

The story talks about Ali Dawson, a 15 years old girl, who has a difficult relationship with her parents. This is the reason why she doesn't think too much to leave her old life behind when her grandparents offer her to go to LA for college. With their help and also her best friend's contribution she manages to change herself into an independent and successful woman, exactly Deklan's type!

Deklan Thomas is the lead singer of the famous band called Rolling Bridges and also Ali's forever crush, which is not hard to believe since he's hot and talented - every girl's dream. When he first meets Ali, he only appreciates her for being their first fan (because she is present from the beginning), offering her free tickets, but after a few years when they accidentally see each other again everything changes and their life will be linked by a strong factor which can neither escape.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and the fact that it was so easy for me to relate with Ali. I also liked that the characters were well developed, with strong and realistic personalities and the events were as normal as possible, without random things happening out of the blue. The relationship between Ali and Deklan was sweet and great to watch, but at the same time based on a close friendship, which I really appreciate the most.

My favorite character is Deklan, mostly because he is incredibly talented and knows how to treat a girl. Despite the fact that he seemed a cocky playboy, there are parts of him that surprised me and I did not expect to find. This book describes the perfect fantasy that a fan could have about a star, becoming a classical tale. I can't wait to read more from Brandace Morrow.

I recommend it to all of you who love romantic books and who have a crush on a superstar.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I heard the word 'Fan Girl' and saw the word 'Rocker' and told myself why not give it a try. I was glad I read this one because it had a different look on the whole rock star romance theme. The characters were funny and loveable and for a debut novel the author did an excellent job.

The story revolves around

Ali Dawson Pierce.

Ali's parents has money but didn't share the love that she wanted to experience. She wanted to be normal and enjoy the one thing she loved the most: Rolling Bridges and their music. She was a constant disappointment to her parents who wanted her to be a part of the upper class society however she chose to follow her love for music and Rolling Bridges.

Instantly when Ali meets Deklan I could feel the connection there. The story line had me guessing on when the two would get together but instead the author chose to focus on Ali growing up which made me feel the story was going in another direction. Brandace had me guessing so many times within this book that I actually love it. I honestly wanted Ali to fall in love and didn’t care if it was a rock star or not because I loved her that much.

Then we have Deklan.

Who knew that the girl he was hoping for was someone he knew for years. The twist and turns that led them together was unbelievable. Deklan was patient, kind, loving and a good guy. Add all the elements that I just mentioned and a sexy rock star image and I got me a hot rocker.

Fan Girl will have you laughing and wanting your own Deklan.

I rated this a 4 star because I felt that the story started to get a little slow around 60%. Sometimes a lot of points were repeated but I stuck it out just to find out how the book ended. I just wish the story would have developed a little faster and not dragged on.

I would definitely recommend this read if you love a good rock star and a hot mouth confident female.

Ali is not the girl next door and this is not your typical rock star love story. Ali first encounters Deklan Thomas when he is just beginning in his music career with his band Rolling Bridges, the days of practicing in the garage and playing in small dive bars. But she had a feeling that the band had something special. Deklan’s voice and his songs mean so much to her and help her throughout her journey of growth and self-discovery.

When Deklan makes a statement to Ali that she would always have a ticket waiting for her at all their concerts when Rolling Bridges makes it big, she had no idea that it would truly happen. This allowed her the opportunity to continue to follow them on their musical journey.

Deklan Thomas is the gorgeous, tattooed rock star that all the girls are more than happy to throw their bodies at in hopes to be noticed. Little did the world know what desires and wants the man behind the rock star has and the values he shares with his Fan Girl.

Ali has not had experience with guys and is not that girl that throws herself at the gorgeous rock star. She prefers to remain in the shadows, avoiding the spotlight. She has low self esteem and poor body image. One day after seeing pictures of herself she decides to take control of her life and make her own destiny. She had no idea of the possibilities that could come from becoming a Fan Girl to Deklan Thomas and the band Rolling Bridges. During this journey we are able to see Ali overcome many hurdles to become a strong and independent beautiful woman on the inside and out.

This is a journey of a man who becomes a rock star and a girl who discovers that everything isn’t always what it seems. That you definitely can’t judge a book by its cover, what is on the inside is just as important. The characters are loveable and the story makes you want to know what more is to come for Ali, Deklan and the future of the Band: Rolling Bridges…

It must just be me, but I really, really did not enjoy this one. Not at all. Not even a little. I finished it, but not for any real desire.

The first third of the book is all backstory, but it is told in such a jumpy, haphazard manner that it is hard to get a real feel for the character (not to mention it is another one of those "the fat girl loses weight and suddenly everything is perfect" trope-y tales that really rubs me the wrong way). The rest of the story follows the main character after a life-changing evening, but there is never any tension or threat or build up or conflict or... well... anything. Just 300 plus pages of bland. The story goes plodding on and on with no build-up until there is finally a week, transparent attempt to build tension over the last 30 or so pages. That's it. Less than 10% of the book to try to develop a building plot.

Despite the plotting flaws, my biggest complaint is the characters; everyone in the story is way too perfect. All of the moments that could have developed conflict are taken in stride. There is little to no development as everyone is already well adjusted and perfectly comfortable in their neuroses. Even the backstories, which had real merit to creating lasting effects, are just dropped in favor of making everyone a "facebook life vs. real life" cover story. No one is ever shocked or outraged or unhappy - justified or otherwise. The reactions are always "best case scenarios" and not like anything that would ever happen in real life. There is zero friction. Everything is perfectly picturesque and it makes for a seriously boring story.

While there are some cute interactions, there is just not enough there to carry an entire book. Maybe if this one had been a novella or one of those 150-page amazon specials it would be worth it, but it its present form, I would recommend a hard pass.

Wow this book started off great, but it lacked a little something toward the end ....

Brandace Morrow provided a copy of this book for an honest opinion via The Review Crew. Firstly let me say thank you for giving me the opportunity to read and review your book Fan Girl.

This book starts out awesome and traces the lives of Ali Pierce and Deklan Thomas. Ali is the ultimate fan girl as she watches the band Rolling Bridges’ ride to super-stardom . It starts out that she is introduced to the band and quickly becomes their number one fan going to as many of their gigs as she can. This is a form of escapism for Ali as she has a horrible home life with her uncaring mother and father.
Deklan doesn’t pay her much attention in her younger years but then the story skips ahead a few years and Ali has changed for the better. Deklan notices her and romance ensues. There is some awesome moments as she realizes what’s been going on with her tweeting partner of four years who she has never met. I won’t say anymore but I absolutely loved this part of the book.

The story is very well written, the editing is very good and once I started reading I found it very hard to put down that was until around the half way mark where I really struggled with this story. The middle of this book is full of everyday life and I found it a little dull to read. However the story did pick up again toward the end. Overall I did enjoy the story but found it lacking unfortunately and if it had continued as good as the first half this would have been a five star book all the way, however due to the fact that I found it a little harder to read I am going to give this book 3.75 stars and round it up to 4.

Gifted a copy for an Honest Review.

Fan Girl by Brandace Morrow is about Ali and Deklan. The Rock Star and the Fan who has been following the band for years lusting over the lead singer. I am soo conflicted on how I want to write this review, finished Fan Girl days ago and just can't seem to put a review together in my head. Now don't take that as bad, this book was wonderful!!! I just suck with words and can't string them together like most reviewers do. Ali grows up feeling unloved by her parents and go against most of the things they want for her. Ali hangs with her friend and brother who likes to hang out with garage bands. Ali becomes a very huge fan for one band in particular, as result her videos she took of them helps them get signed. The band remembers her help and always makes sure she has a ticket to their shows. Ali escapes her parents to New York with the help of her grandparents. Ali gets fit and studies to become a tattoo artist.
Years later Ali has made a name for herself and Deklan and his band has shot to rock and roll fame. I truly don't want to put spoilers in this but since you know that the story is about Ali and Deklan you know they meet. But what I will tell you is that as I was reading Fan Girl I kept waiting for something to happen, like someone going to the press saying their having Deklan's baby or just something to happen to make my gut twist, but it didn't. Now let me tell you I always have to have angst in the books I read, but really it was nice to not have it just to read a very well, put together, book that didn't have any twist in it was a nice change.
I would like to thank Brandace Morrow to gifting me a copy for a review, you have wrote a beautiful sotry and I look forward to see what you have next.

Wow, this is a long ass book but one that was brilliantly written and kept me hooked throughout! Who knew starting out with the fan girl side of the story you'd end up with the Los Rancheros side of things but that's just how far the story between Ali and Dek takes you!

Ali is a innocent 15 yr old who has a passion for music and especially Deklan's band. Little did she know that her obsession with this band would lead her to a future with the band members in more ways than one.

I love a long book that draws you in and tells you the whole story without making you feel exhausted reading it. There is nothing worse than parts of the main character's lives being jumped over without explanation and for me, Brandace Morrow got the balance perfectly in Fan Girl.

The story has twists and turns as Ali and Dek's lives continue to be lived apart without them knowing the real truth about just how intertwined their lives really are.

Dek is a dream of a male lead and despite the unexpected turn of events in his life, I love that he stands alongside Ali and learns to love her as Ali and not just DD. I loved that although the story had twists and turns in it you never felt on edge that something bad was going to happen, until the very end, when Ali's day trip out takes an unexpected turn but don't be alarmed, this story has a HEA for those of you of a sensitive disposition!
