This classic work of Protestant apologetics was published in 1888. Originally, it began as a series of lectures delivered at the University of Dublin before being collected into this volume.
Salmon's primary purpose in this book is to demonstrate the impossiblity of Papal infallibility, as believed by the Roman Catholic Church. Although some things have changed since Vatican II (1965), all of Salmon's historical arguments and examples of Papal error are still valid and highly relevant to contemporary students who want to see a strong case made against the claims of Rome.

This eBook is made from the Fourth edition of the book, published in 1914. Footnotes have been left in the text, since they are original with Salmon, but they have been [bracketed] and also given a smaller font so that they will not be confused with the body of the text. In addition, Greek and Hebrew words have been transliterated into latin characters. Finally, a working Table of Contents has been included so that the reader can jump between chapters that interest him or her the most.
The gist is George systematically demonstrates objections that address why the Pope and Catholic church's stance of the only Church on earth is unbiblical and indefensible. Very direct and reasoned but lots to review / read again as his points are quite complex.
