Breaking hearts is one thing, but when it’s your best friend’s sister, that’s a whole other bucket of trouble… And if this cowboy didn’t have enough to contend with, he’s about to find out there’s a baby on the way!
Mac Palmer is a Texan rodeo superstar, but when a freak injury forces him to take some time off, the last thing he wants is some incompetent stranger rocking up on his ranch.
Help arrives in the form of El Moyle, his best friend’s little sister. She’s grown up a lot in the years since he last set eyes on her; she’s hotheaded, gorgeous, and a damn good ranch hand…
Mac knows it’s a bad idea to mix business with pleasure. He doesn’t have a good track record, and it’ll only end in tears. The thing he wasn’t expecting, was for the broken heart to be his…
When Cupid’s Arrow Hits The Bullseye - El thought she had gotten over her crush on her brother’s best friend after not being around him for years, but having to live and work with him reignited her feelings for him. Mac started listing after El from the moment she moved into his home, but he knew he couldn’t pursue anything with her as she was his best friend’s younger sister. However much they tried to stay away from each other, spending time together in close proximity on a daily basis led to the explosion of the sexual chemistry between.
Unfortunately, El’s brother’s unexpected arrival derailed their budding romance and put a kibosh on any ideas they had about a potential relationship. Even though Mac and El both tried to move on with their lives, fate had other plans for them and gave them the chance at having the happily ever after they wanted. I started reading this book with high hopes and I can say without a shadow of doubt, that Holly Rayner didn’t disappoint me. This is a book worth your reading pleasure and recommending to your friends.

An average read as nothing extra ordinary happens during this story. Mac Palmer a rodeo champion had returned to the arena after a year off the circuit, but we received no explanation as to why. His first attempt back on the circuit resulted in an accident that left him unable to even take care of his own ranch. He called his bestfriend, Jeff for help who sent him his little sister, El. She was a natural born horse woman. Mac found her attractive the moment he set eyes on her, he knew Jeff would have his hide if he made a move toward her, which he thought was fine with him at the time. The only thing important to Mac in his life was his rodeo career. He did not have time a relationship. El knew to try to guard her heart against him. A story of family having your back no matter what.

This is the second book in this series, and this is rodeo star Mac and his best friend’s little sister, El’s story. When Mac is injured he goes to his ranch to recuperate, and El comes to help him on the ranch. This is a well written story which had family, friendships, romance, heartbreak, emotions, intrigue, undeniable chemistry, surprises, close proximity, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy page turner. "His First Baby Rodeo" (Lone Star Sweethearts Book 2) by Holly Rayner was a great read. I enjoyed Mac and El's story. This story had romance, passion, a hot cowboy, a brother's best friend romance, age gap, a surprise baby, and more. This is the first book I've read in this series and I'm looking forward to reading the others. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, cowboys, brother's best friend, surprise baby, and series.
