Growing up as a young child Rae Knight used to hate reading, but as she grew into her adolescent years it all chnaged. It was this love of reading, mixed with her vivid imagination, that had her begin her writing career. The first books she ever wrote were at the age of fifteen scribble in the pages of a spiral notebook. Now a days, you can find her trying hard to write these bios in third person, which she doesn't even do in her books. When she's not teaching, she's mothering three small children. Her writing is mainly done once her littles have fallen asleep for the night.
Rae loves to interact with her readers the most, messaging back any who are willing to speak with her. So, be sure to follow her social media pages and reach out to her. The characters of her books are constantly living in her mind, missing them like dear friends when their stories end.

🎶 This was such a delightful wrap up to June and JJ’s story. His Last Dare ended at such a pivotal moment, and I devoured this follow up book in one day. Thanks for the eARC Rae! 💕
📖 There’s so much packed into this little book as we follow the gang from their little town to NYC. There’s heartbreak, fun banter, a delightful found family, and plenty of drama. I would also add the same CWs as the first book, in particular violence / gun violence, childhood trauma / abuse, noncon sex tape making (by someone else) + deliberate leaking of tape.
This book was about Jake and June. Jake grew up being neglected by his dad after his mom left when he was 4. He never knew what happened to her. They were dating but he just up and left one day while she was away. No explanation and he ghosted her. One day he was at college when June showed up. He didn’t know she was going to go to the same school. She was supposed to go somewhere else. Her dad wanted her to go to Columbia to study law but that isn’t what she wanted to do so she told him she was going there but really she went to music school. He thought she lied to him but he eventually found out what happened. They both went through a lot in this book. I love how it all played out.
This duology had the perfect ending. The love story between JJ and Juniper is slowly becoming one of my favorites. They quickly learn that love at any age is hard. Hard choices have to be made that can affect the lives of those you love. And family is all about who you choose. I love how JJ slowly learns to love and accept himself regardless of his past. And I love Juniper's kindness and compassion as well as her feisty side. The author did a wonderful job bringing this story full circle with a definite HEA.
I fell in love with the characters in His last dare and the cliffhanger left me impatiently waiting for this second book. I do feel like the ending of this book maybe was a little rushed. Harmonia institute and that part of their lives was so big in the first half of the book and in the second half it felt a bit of an afterthought. Regardless if you love a troubled boy meets girl story and girl makes his life better, then I definitely recommend! A solid feel good read!
Rae Knight, you have done it again. Her first day continues with June's journey into college and her nreak up with JJ. What a journey it is. It is an epic love story for the ages, with being torn apart, while longing for each other, until HEA. I could not put this book down. All of the characters grow and mature throughout the book. I absolutely love her first dare and the epilogue at the end. Amazing work yet again, Rae.
I was honestly so sad for the book to end and went slower so I could prepare myself. I was immediately pulled into the small town of Lavender Hills from the first book. I was DEVASTATED when JJ left June at the end of the first book and it was a push and pull the whole book but I was so interested and was like when will they be Triple J againnnnn??? Also the paint room scene, HOLY SHIT. I DON’T KNOW IF I’LL EVER RECOVER. I’m going to miss June and JJ so much and wouldn’t be surprised if I came back to them and re-read in the future. Overall such an amazing series and characters, DEFINITELY ON MY FAVS LIST. Gonna miss them!🥺💗

while the story is good and I enjoyed how it all ties together, the writting drove me nuts, I don't mean in terms of a bad story line etc, but little things that should have been corrected before publishing! "in" instead of "on" a thousand times, there's a bit that says "the car came into a few" instead of "into view"🤦♀️ "yet alone" instead of "let alone" repeatedly!
2024 PopSugar Challenge #43: A second-chance romance
So the story left off was the first one that I loved.... I needed to read more about JJ and June. I love when I story picks right back up. Nothing in between.... Just the same spot and that doesn't happen a lot. This is now my 2nd series completed by this author and I would love to read anything she puts out.
The first book ends with a cliffhanger of both of them seeing each other at college. JJ leaves her without saying good bye and breaks up with her, then thinks she is going to go to another college. Who else wouldn't want to know what happens and just like the first one brings the drama so does the 2nd one. This one is so juicy.
You have a girl that likes JJ and June is so jealous, so course she makes JJ jealous with someone else as well! And that isn't all.... You have JJ seeing his mother after 13 to 14 years and the story behind that, you find out why JJ and June broke up, then the car crash and so much more. Rae Knight keeps you involved the whole time. Locked in and not waiting to put this book down. There isn't one time that I felt like I was bored, it was just like I needed more, more and more.
And what an amazing ending ❤️ this book is full of love, drama, passion, and a fun time. So excited to see what else this author brings to us.
𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲 is the continuation of JJ and June’s star-crossed love story that began in His Last Dare by Rae Knight. JJ left June without a word, shattering her heart. Weeks later they find themselves on the same college campus, but they might as well be worlds apart. The feelings still burn bright between them, but with so many secrets and obstacles in the way, can they find their way back to a healthy relationship?
This was quite an entertaining rollercoaster ride of a story! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of twists, turns, and little subplots that were uncovered along the way! While failure to communicate is never my favorite, I was totally invested in this story, and couldn’t put it down. There were so many compelling characters whose growth was a joy to watch, and a few new surprises as well. The book had everything— witty banter, spicy chemistry, angst, drama, tear-inducing action, and more. While it does address some sensitive topics, the heart of the book is about persevering through adversity and finding that love and sense of family in those who deserve that title. While I wasn’t thrilled about the cliffhanger at the end of the first book, this one made it worth it.😆
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶
4⭐️ this one picks up right where the last book left off and I loved that. Truly ate up the drama between JJ and June in this book. I’m giving hella props to Rodney and Tiff for trying to stay out of their stuff but also be a friend to each of them. Most parts felt wholesome while I did cringe at the super cheesy moments too. I loved JJ’s full circle moment with his mom!!! Finally something does right for that boy… I wish JJ groveled more, June took him back too easy and same for him with her and Ben. Sus. The one complaint is how truly random that car accident was for Tiff like truly didn’t have to be so drama… like sis could’ve still been hit but not have all this trauma fr. And also why wasn’t Junes dad like wild about sending Tyler to jail, like 1 this is his daughter as the victim 2 that is soooo incredibly illegal and obvious it was him c bc he sent it in his phone and plenty of witnesses. But okay Liam for all you do kind (hit) man. There was A LOT going on in this book it was all over the place but I enjoyed the read (: still hate James Jacobson 🫶
I love this couple. I love this world. This town. These moments. I’m so sad to be finished with the series already.
Junie, June, Juniper… after being left without a word does her best to pick up the pieces of her broken heart while following her dreams and making new friends. JJ, Jake… he thinks he’s doing the right thing, protecting the woman he loves from what he deems the worst thing for her… himself. Only when he runs into her at school he realizes why he can’t ever stay away.
We get to see the same characters from book one with a whole cast of new friends. New memories. New moments. And a whole lot of edge of your seat will they won’t they. Perfection.
This book was even better than the first. Jake and June's story is one of learning to understand yourself, moving forward by releasing the past and growth. Their bond is strong yet fragile at the same time. This story explores their growth and was much deeper and more emotional than the first but still has the intensity and chemistry from the first book. It's the perfect continuation and ending to their story.
This is the conclusion to JJ & June's story. They've moved out of the small town & are going to college in NYC. He's not expecting her at his school & is surprised to see her. A lot of things happen & they finally get their HEA! Recommend this duet & author!
She is starting over at the school of her choose and she is happy with her choice. He turned up at the school and it's like they never stopped caring for each other. It was an incredible book and you won't be disappointed. The last part of the book is awesome.
