As a kid I loved the show unsolved mysteries. I also watch YouTube to see a lot of thru hikers/backpacking adventures on trails around the USA.
So when I saw this book I figured I would give it a try. I noticed the audio version was done by virtual voice and was kinda hesitant but that didn't stop me from getting it. I was quite pleased and surprised how much I liked the narration. I honestly forgot it was done by AI.
Anyway on to the book. This book is not very long. There are 30 different missing person stories that average about 5 minutes a case. I personally liked how it was done so you could learn a brief story of each person. Some of the stories I found very interesting and I'm hoping maybe there are YouTube videos about certain cases so I can learn even more. If you enjoy hiking or hearing stories about hikers along the different trails in the US then I highly suggest this book. Its very easy to get through and I finished it in one sitting.
This was my first audible book with virtual voice and I must admit it wasn’t that bad, it was much better than I expected.
The book looks into missing cases where adults and children go missing on hikes.
With more research into each case we as readers/ listeners would have gotten a more interesting and in depth experience. Here we learn about a lot of cases but it is very superficial. I have preferred more information and less cases.
This is a collection of people who went missing in national parks. The locations and a brief bio of the person is given along with the efforts to find them. A few remains were found in some cases, but how they died and what happened to them is still a mystery. Very interesting. Audiobook uses virtual voice.
Great read if you have a very short attention span but an interest in missing persons. Each story is about 4 pages long which is shorter in Kindle pages. Just enough length to enumerate name, place and date. Then the book moves on to the next case. I gave up after the 4th chapter. Troy Taylor creates a much more compelling book for this type of material.
Quick and easy read with each chapter focusing on a different missing person. The stories are very short with just the basic facts. 3 stars because I wish there was a little more to each story. But all in all an interesting read.
Whomever published this book should not be a publisher. While the stories were good and research was done, the same words were used for every single story. If I had to hear enigma one more time….
