Well, jail went about as well as could be expected. As in, not well at all. Now that I’m free and I have Ben attached to my hip I’m doing better. Until all the rest of my problems show up on the front lawn. Now I’m investigating the missing people, helping the TGT agents, and generally trying to survive. It’s not going well. Especially when more secrets get revealed, leaving me rocked and ready to rage quit.
Well, we finally got answers and plot progression, but we’re still super glacially slow on romantic interests and non-existent on the spice. Not even a kiss in three books and added a new mate. I legit think I like torturing myself at this point.
3⭐️ I’m enjoying the story it feels like it’s progressing. But can we please get some spice. Like even kissing? I’m 3 books deep in a RH and it’s feeling really PG in that department.
Ben continued to be the best guy ever. Mal and King grew on me, Mal a little more. Mitri was the same sociopath once again, I hoped for some change with the bond, but it got messed up before it could do anything interesting. Kimi's changes made him less interesting, he behaved pretty much like a copy of Mitri and we had an emotionless guy already, so why would we need a second one? Beatrice's insanity was a little annoying. The seesaw thing was pissing me off. I was fine with the panic attacks and dissociation, that was believable and relatable after what she went through, but the seesaw was just weird and repeated so many times. Verdict on the new berserker needs to wait, he didn't have time to do anything other than protect her once.
Okay so I made it to book 3 couldn't finish it though. It seems the weird is getting even more crazy, not in a good way. I've never been a fan of Alice in Wonderland and this series is like going down the rabbit hole, again not in a good way. What I realised about book 1 & 2 is the same formula of "what the heck is going on" till about 70% then it pulls itself back into something readable. This time though I had no patience for it.
I totally understand trying trying to write a character with a mental disorder but the see saw thing really got on my reading nerves. The only good thing was I knew when to start skipping. Then I thought why am I doing this to myself.
I can’t say enough good things about this series and this book!! It is fun, engaging and totally different! It keeps you on the edge of your seat…all without any sexytimes…THAT is when you know you have a hit in the making, can’t wait for the next book!
This is taken directly from my notes at the end of book 1, Bonding Psychos: "I don't know WTF I just read, but it's like a dizzying carnival ride that I don't want to end."
Please note that the following review is for the SERIES, not each individual book.
First off, this series hit all of my happy buttons. Plot? ✅️ Character driven? ✅️ Unpredictable? ✅️ Large harem? ✅️ Geeky? ✅️ Funny? ❌️ - this wasn't funny. It was freakin hysterical. Hawt? ✅️ (but know going in, this is a glacial burn series. The smut takes a long time to arrive, but when it does? Im advising you now - batteries or cold showers.)
I saw the series recommended on Facebook, and the title of the first book (Bonding Psychos) alone piqued my interest. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. And I wouldn't change a thing. However, I tend to fall into the morally gray camp, so even if I could succinctly summarize the plot (which I can't), I wouldn't.
The plot is … phenomenal doesn't even come close. I cannot even begin to write a synopsis. Trust me, bro. Read it. The world building is mind blowing, and I can't think of another romance series that has this depth of character development. In some regards, this is almost more urban fantasy than romance, but the relationship building that winds through the story is delicious. And Bea? A pure delight for such a chaotic good character. (For those who aren't in the know about character alignments, she is just on the “good” side of morally gray.)
All in all, chef's kiss. I'm off to see what other adventures Gina Morris has written!
The hits keep coming for Bea. Mental manipulation, major injuries, saving a dragon and bonding. I’m totally addicted to these books, but I have one request, please can we have a little spice soon. I mean Ben……..come on, spice with Ben, he’s just so lovely, he deserves some alone time with Bea.
This story definitely continues to improve as the books progress. While it definitely is a sloooow burn, in both plot and romance/spice, I don’t even notice it.
The characters and the world is interesting enough that I find myself devouring the pages. And I have to say, Ben is — and likely always will be — my favorite. (Shh..)
I've finished this 6 book series and still keep thinking about the story, characters and life lessons. New author, first series but written like a long time pro. The story keeps building, tension keeps tightening and late night reading to finish, I highly recommend!
*RH with a little MM (SLOW burn building relationships) it's coming, not here yet * humans, monsters, demi-Gods, dragon shifter, beserker, immortals *legit psychos *reincarnation *fated mates *TW’s
Beatrice’s emotions are getting to be a bit tedious. And like I mentioned in my last review, I enjoy that the series so far has no sex scenes. However, I would like to see at least a little romance. Three books, and not even a kiss.
No idea why im so surprised but this book is so good. Ofc im gonna pretend I didn’t see the gramatical errors in russian words. Ben is just one love. Koschei was better in the previous book imo. Aodhan sounds interesting, on to the next book.
A series that keeps on giving, this is just the best entertainment a series can offer. I’m wondering if it will change from a slow burner. Highly recommend
This series was really good! Easy to lose yourself in the world created. Loved each book in this series and can’t wait to explore this author’s other books.
