A quintessential tear-through-it-in-one-sitting-and-be-left-holding-it-to-your-chest-with-tears-and-a-smile-at-the-same-time kind of book. Full of moments that suck you so far in that it's like you're just an arms-length away from the characters. The story is raw and rips your heart out and then puts it back with a sweet little *pat pat*. The characters reflect the realities of growing up, loving and losing friends, experiencing tragedy, and finding yourself in the mix. I will be reading again(!!) and recommending to every person I love so they can also experience the depth and beauty and heartbreak and triumph of reading Mothic Wreckage.

SUCH an amazing novel! The descriptive writing style just pulls you right in, and every character is so lovable, you just want to see them all happy. Stars, even as a rockstar, is a relatable protagonist, and Ocelle is the perfect balance of charming and makes-you-want-to-scream. I cannot recommend “Mothic Wreckage” enough and I cannot wait to see what the lovely Anya Nagle writes next!

This is the first book I’ve finished in years, and it only took me a few days to blow through. i would have read it faster if I wasn’t set on reading it during class so people would ask me about it and give me an excuse to talk about it. I loved every second of it, reading it was as easy as dreaming. Each character is so real and three dimensional, and each moment between them shattered my heart just a little bit because it is so human. The portrayal of grief- and learning to be happy despite it- is captured so perfectly by the nearly unreliable narrator who is fully aware that he is telling a story to an audience, and addresses the reader as if they are a close friend. I want to give every character a big kiss on the forehead and promise them everything will be ok. I want to hear a mothic wreckage song so badly. I promise this book is worth your money.
