I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

The world has changed by 2040. An AI, hacked by unkown persons, went meshuggah, and planes fell from the sky, among other things, including a limited nuclear war. We don't have to worry about Moscow anymore, though.

Enter our heroes, a mismatched pair of private detectives based in San Francisco. They meet a famous PI, and help her out on a case. Then the PI is murdered, and our heroes are going to get to the bottom of things.

I figured the mystery out fairly quickly, but the setting helped this one stand out.

excellent detective story

I really enjoyed this detective story. It kept me reading wondering what would happen next and had a great ending. I di hope the author writes the book promised at the end of this one.
