This has been a really great, super hot series so far, but Mr. Deveraux has definitely come through as my favorite in the series! I felt like there was more relationship development between them, probably since he tried to reject her for so long, lol. The storyline was interesting and it was super fast paced. I loved the complicated history between the two of them and I thought it really amped up the chemistry and fireworks between them, making everything that much spicier. And BOY, was it spicy!! 😅 I'm not usually a fan of "daddy" books, but I loved how it came started so organically through her lashing out and definitely led credence to her "bratty" persona. They definitely had some issues to work through and I felt like it made the story that much more interesting. Definitely recommend!

Mr. Devereaux gave me a love/hate feeling. Charli hasn’t had it easy and in an attempt to make some extra cash, she finds herself trying out the escort world. However, her first ever client turns out to be none other than her ex-stepfather Alistair.
Alistair is initially horrified that he has touched his ex-stepdaughter but Charli has no such reservations and proposes that she be his sugar baby.
And folks THAT’S where this story went south for me…
Was it a well written story? Absolutely.
But I just couldn’t get out of my head that Charli was chasing and throwing herself at Alistair despite all the times he tried to reject her. Have some self-respect yo.
But ya know, the steam was hot and it ended on a high note. So while I liked this, I also struggled with the FMC’s choices and the MMC’s decisions.

April 28, 2024Mackenzy knows how to write a taboo age gap that’s for sure! This is the third one in the Taboo Series and it did not disappoint. Her books are so entertaining another one I read in less than a day, because they are just quick/fun reads. Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

But what happens when the feelings start to get too strong?
On paper Charli and Alistair couldn’t be more wrong for each other, but they have this unique, yet strong pull that keeps pulling them back together. Their sexual chemistry is completely off the charts! Charlize is a fantastic character with her sassy mouth and she fits so perfectly with Alistair who is grumpy and broody and doesn’t like to show feelings.
Ari, Imogen, and Charli make the perfect friend group and I loved seeing their stories all play out in this series. Highly recommend this series for good age gap, billionaire books.

Her and Alistair (Mr. Deveraux) meeting again after so many years wasn't easy with there being unresolved issues between them but it wasn't hard either, will I guess Alistair would disagree since he struggled with the way his body reacted to the the woman he saw in Charlize now but remembering her as the little girl he once knew her as.
But Charlize being the fierce lioness that she is knew what she wanted and she went after it and try as he did Mr.Deveraux never stood a chance.
Their reunion in my opinion was what the blessing in disguise they both needed because it forced them to have the hard conversation, to look within themselves and relieve the burdens they've been carrying for the past years that allowed themselves to love and to be loved.

I am SO SAD that this series, that I happened to stumble upon somewhere here on bookstagram, is over 💔 these books had me hook, line, and sinker. Every one of them.
All three books are Taboo, Spicy, Angsty, Fun, and so so Hot 🥵 Mr. Bentley will have a place in my heart forever.

Her first night on the job, she’s tasked to be a surprise for none other than her ex-stepdaddy, but both of them are completely unaware of that fact until things have already gotten out of hand (see: masquerade party).

I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. WOW. The men in this series are SINFULLY delicious ! I didn’t think anyone could top Khristian and his dirty mouth, but WOW is Alistair at the top of my list in this taboo series.

Oooh! I’ve been dying for Alistair & Charli! I couldn’t wait to start, as soon as it hit I was diving in. I LOVE a forbidden, age gap, step-daddy romance & let me just say… Mr. Devereaux does not disappoint! Mackenzy, once again, wrote a fantastic book. This was by far my favorite book of the series! I loved watching Charli ruffle Alistair’s feathers & get under his skin! Every time she called him Daddy to get to him I couldn’t help smiling. She had sass, was feisty & determined, had a good heart, & couldn’t have been more perfect for Alistair- she was perfectly written.m
I loved every dirty second of this book! Alistair & his dirty mouth had my toes curled wanting more! It had a great plot & storyline that had me hooked, excellent characters that were so easy to love, & some very dirty & steamy scenes! I know this was supposed to be the last book of the series, but I have all my fingers crossed for more!

Man have you read the rest of the books in this series? If not you need to because they are just as good as this one. We met Charli in the first and second books where her spunk for life is beautiful. She is overseas trying to find herself and travel, but she doesn't let her friends know how hard things really are. When she takes a job as and escort of sorts she has no idea her life is about to spiral. Alistair is a workaholic who likes to have fun, but makes sure that he's all business. When his friends get him a birthday present he's about to get shock. Their passion is off the charts, but they are off limits to both of them. The reason Charli is Alistairs ex-stepdaughter. But don't get it twister there is nothing step here. Charli has had a rough life and this is her story. These two will navigate their lives and the fact that they don't want to keep away from one another. Find out though what happens when Alistair puts his foot down.

I can’t believe this series is over. I have absolutely loved each book in this series. But as I sit here all sadly tonight, I can’t help wishing there were more. I just can’t get enough of the taboo, age gap romance that Fox has masterfully created in each book. Such a talented lady.
While Charli and Alistair were not my most favorite of the trio in the series, I still loved them. They had such a unique past that made for a unique romance. This one is heavy on the sugar daddy romance, and for someone that isn’t quite a huge fan of that trope, I can definitely say Fox wrote it well and had me invested throughout. Not to mention, had me greedily reading any chance I got.

If you like taboo this is perfect for you. I mean ex stepdad and ex stepdaughter now that’s taboo. Add in daddy and it became perfection. Charli and Alister had the best chemistry I’ve read in a long time. The angst with the push and pull made this book a chefs kiss. The dirty talk and the bedroom events were just wow. If you haven’t read this series you are seriously missing out. Honestly this series is a must read. For me it will be a reread. Mackenzy you just keep giving me books that are amazing and I just love to read them. Keep them coming.

Alistair aka Mr Devereaux aka Daddy is smoking hot!!! I loved the banter between him and Charlize, I loved these two characters together. I loved everything about this book to the point I read it in one sitting. From memory this series is 3 books, I do hope @mackenzyfoxbooks makes more Taboo books like this because it was a chef's kiss! 💋

This is third and final book of the Taboo Series. When I say Mackenzy saved the best for last, she most certainly did. I liked the other two books but this one is my favorite. Maybe it's the Daddy/Princess kink or it's just Mr. Devereaux himself. Regardless, this is my kind of book.
Charlize may have grown up in a wealthy family but she never saw that money. She's struggled her whole life and especially with fitting in. Her best friends (their stories are book 1 and 2) are back in Seattle but Charli wanted to travel the world. She saved everything she could to get to London and experience life there. What she didn't prepare for was how expensive it is. So when she gets the offer to be a high end escort, she takes it. That kind of money could change her life. Except...her first client is her ex step-dad. I won't spoil any of the good stuff for you. What I can say is the spice is SPICY when Charli unexpectedly becomes Alistair's escort for the night.
I will say that Charlize did not grow up with Alistair. She was off at boarding school and he was only married to her mother for a short time. She only saw him a handful of times and it was all when she was a younger. The age gap isn't crazy as Charlize's mom had her as a teen as well. So I'd say go in with an open mind. I wasn't sure I'd like it but I definitely did.
The spice was perfection in the beginning; however, it kind of tapered off. I understand that Mackenzy probably didn't want to overdo it with the spice but I would have loved a bit more considering Alistair and his likes.
Overall, it's a great book and definitely worth the read.

This is third and final book of the Taboo Series. When I say Mackenzy saved the best for last, she most certainly did. I liked the other two books but this one is my favorite. Maybe it's the Daddy/Princess kink or it's just Mr. Devereaux himself. Regardless, this is my kind of book.
Charlize may have grown up in a wealthy family but she never saw that money. She's struggled her whole life and especially with fitting in. Her best friends (their stories are book 1 and 2) are back in Seattle but Charli wanted to travel the world. She saved everything she could to get to London and experience life there. What she didn't prepare for was how expensive it is. So when she gets the offer to be a high end escort, she takes it. That kind of money could change her life. Except...her first client is her ex step-dad. I won't spoil any of the good stuff for you. What I can say is the spice is SPICY when Charli unexpectedly becomes Alistair's escort for the night.
I will say that Charlize did not grow up with Alistair. She was off at boarding school and he was only married to her mother for a short time. She only saw him a handful of times and it was all when she was a younger. The age gap isn't crazy as Charlize's mom had her as a teen as well. So I'd say go in with an open mind. I wasn't sure I'd like it but I definitely did.
The spice was perfection in the beginning; however, it kind of tapered off. I understand that Mackenzy probably didn't want to overdo it with the spice but I would have loved a bit more considering Alistair and his likes.
Overall, it's a great book and definitely worth the read.

This is the third and final book in the Taboo Series. I have loved reading this series and am so sad to see it end. This is the story of Charlize and Alistair. This is a an age gap romance that will also involve a relationship with her step-father. I loved reading this book. I am a sucker for a good age gap romance and this one certainly checks all the boxes. Alistair is looking for a way to make some quick cash. The rent is due and she is short on cash. When the escort service seems like the best way to make the fastest, most money that she can, she goes for it. You can imagine the shock and there had to be a little bit of horror that her first client just so happens to be her ex-step-father who she hasn't seen in twenty years!! He can't have this girl that he is fighting his attraction for doing the things the job entails. After all he is to wise and older then she is that he should be able to figure out a way to help her out. But will he make it out feeling nothing at all? Or is life about to get a whole lot more complicated than either of them ever imagined? I'll let you read and find out.
These two couldn't be more opposite then they are. But somehow they are just perfect for each other. Their chemistry bleeds from the pages of this book. This was actually my first book that have read with sugar baby/sugar daddy vibes & I enjoyed it throughly, I won’t lie I wanted to be Charlize so dang bad. Alistair & Charlize have a history, but definitely not the type of history you’re thinking considering the big age difference, he was once married to her mother before she passed away. So when Alistairs best friends surprise him with an escort for his birthday, he doesn’t realize it’s his ex step daughter till after he finishes in her mouth & she does the same. After some very awkward conversations & sexual tension they finally reach an agreement, which let’s be honest is every females dream. Alistair is a dominant & he sure loves it when his princess takes his little black card & puts a pretty big dent in it. The way he just couldn’t hold back when it came to Charli is what really did it for me, it was steamy & passionate in the most dominant ways. Towards the end I was hanging in by a thread, but then Alistair got on his knees & I was a puddle on the floor. I throughly enjoyed these two characters & their whole dynamic, the way these two has such a strong & filthy connection in & out the bedroom was to die for. Charlize really hit the literal jackpot with Alistair even though she went through hell when she was younger with her grandmother, it was worth it to bring her to Mr. Devereaux. Let’s not forget her best friends in Seattle & what an amazing ending this book brought. Definitely recommend this Taboo Series if you’re looking for some spice & some kinks.

Mr Devereaux marks the final entry in the Taboo Series, and brings us Charlize's story. It was a fun read, filled with some complex dynamics before Charlize and Alastair finally cave. The taboo element is that Alastair is Charlize's step father, though one she hasn't seen in many years.
What ensues is a drama filled story of "will they, won't they", with Charlize being very accepting and hopeful of a relationship, but Alastair seeing the taboo and wanting to distance himself. As expected, this doesn't happen, and more drama unfolds as the concept of Charlize becoming Alastair's "Sugar Baby" comes through.
Whilst I enjoyed reading this book, I struggled with feeling the chemistry between the two main characters at times. It was deliciously spicy, and there was the underlying narrative that worked well. I loved that we were getting secrets and bombshells dropped throughout the novel, and I liked that Charlize finally got her happily ever after, after seeing her best friends get the same. And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed the cameos from said best friends. The occasional dropping of Aussie phrases made me giggle - even if I found that some of them were more British than Aussie, and confused me that Alastair didn't know of them (I'm British by birth, living in Aus btw so can give this feedback).

This one was probably the most taboo out of the three-it is her ex-stepdad. *It is important to note here that she did NOT grow up with him. She met him as a teenager, they only saw each other a handful of times then her mom died, she went to live with her grandma, and never saw him again…until now*

And honestly, i thought this book would be my least favorite of the 3. BOY was i WRONG!!! This is my favorite of them.

This story was sizzling HOT, super kinky and just insanely delicious. I instantly fell in love with the characters and thought that their relationship developed at the right pace.
Charli is my girl!!! She’s so feisty, sassy and quite the brat – and I loved that about her. She had me giggling with how frustrated she made Alistair and I think she shocked him quite a bit with her sass!! He just wanted to put her over his knee and spank the sass out of her every time she opened her mouth. And I could not get enough of that!!!

Charlize or Charli and Alistair or Mr. Devereaux are now my favourite couple in the series. When they meet for the first time as adults, their chemistry is immediate and pulls you right in.
The taboo aspect comes from Alistair having been Charli's 'distant' stepdad for a few years in her pre-teen days; she lived at boarding school during much of his marriage to her mother.

Alistair Devereaux is a simple man, he works, loves his family and likes to keep sex uncomplicated, that’s why he uses an escort service. When the woman he’s been dying to get his hands on turns out to be his ex stepdaughter he shuts down the situation right away. The guilt over the past with how he left Charlize alone weighs heavily on him, he wants to make it right by taking care of her now, but when she suggests he be her sugar daddy it wasn’t exactly what he was thinking, but he doesn’t think he can deny her.
Loved this series and this was a nice way to cap it off. Loved the MCs together, this wasn’t as “forbidden” as I thought it would be. Good read

Charlize practically grew up in a boarding school, where she had a mother and stepfather who were mainly disengaged from her. What I enjoyed most about “Mr. Devereaux,” smexy scenes aside—and there were many—is Charlize’s confidence. Despite her upbringing and how she started as a meek person, she, as an adult, was confident about herself and her body and initiated what her needs were.

Mr. Devereaux is the third book in the Taboo series and it’s an ex-step dad spicy romance. Which let me be clear, is super hot. We have Charlize whose mom was married to Alistair but since she was away at boarding school they only met a handful of times. After her mother passed Charlize went back to Australia to live with her grandmother. When Charlize finds herself with an opportunity to make crazy money as an escort in London she decides to give it a try. And who do you think was her client? You guessed it Mr. Devereaux!! I was screaming because they didn’t know who the other was (masks + it’s been 15 years) until after starting the hooking up. He’s a Dom, she’s a brat and together it’s explosive. There is so much more to this story besides spice, I was rooting for the both of the entire time. If you haven’t read Mr. Bentley or Mr. Petrov in the taboo series you have to check them out. This taboo series is my absolute favorite, they are spicy but with a great story.
