Mulai dari ceritanya dulu. Bagus, trope awalnya aku suka. Pokok kalo baca sinopsis pengen baca buat aku. Jadi menurutku pemeran utamanya ngeselin ya di awal tapiii kenapa aku bisa kasih bintang 3 karna si mba cecilia bisa bikin aku bersimpati sama pemeran utamanya..

Jadi di buku ini karna pemeran utamanya dua dua nya dokter dan setingnya banyak di rs dan berbagai kasus yg ditanganin.. jiwa dokterku ingin mengkritik 😂
1. Ini setingnya di indonesia yaa lagi ppds nih salah satu dari mereka dan yg satunya udah spesialis profesor pula. Setahuku yaa ga ada dokter khusus bedah jantung di indo cmiw ya gess, adanya BTKV emang si dokternya gelarnya BTKV tapi kayak di buku ditekanin dia bedah jantung banget, ngga ada kasus lain yg ditanganin huft
2. Jadi ada adegan si prof ini dapet telpon dari dokter jaga pasien usia sekian nyeri dada di ekg ada ST elevasi jelas dan minta terapi, terus si dokter ini bilang, yaudah kasih “bisoprolol, ISDN dan Morfin terus cek troponin”. Kok ga kayak di IGD beneran gitu lo 🤣, dimana udah dikasih loading dulu nih terus konsul dan sarannya fibrinolisis kek primary PCI kek, ya Allah gemes. Mana ngga ada tulisan yaudah dok loading dulu ya Aspilet sama CPG 🤦‍♀️.
3. Sistem PPDS nya dibikin kayak di luar negri, mba cecilia ini kan settingnya di Indo jadi tolong research ttg PPDS di Indo kayak gimana, jadinya ai yg baca kesel sendiri gitu, ya kali dia PPDS Interna double sama Bedah, kalo di US bisa sih ambil double degree tapi Indo belum ada.
4. Terus di buku spoiler dikit ada adegan kasus kematian ibu hamil dan bayi dimana aku langsung mikir hmmm ntar di audit gimana tuh kan ceritanya nih di RS terbaik di Jakarta terbesar isinya kelas menengah atas semuwaah.. wkwk

Oke sekian aja ntar kepanjangan, tapiii jujur aku jadi pingin baca buku setelahnya ya buat tahu si prof hidupnya se miserable apa setelah ini wkwk

I have my own opinions that convinced me to rate this book as a 5/5 stars book. First, i love the trope, friends with benefits and Alastair-Julienne were doctors at a prominent hospital in the heart of Jakarta, Genesis. Julienne was a doctor trying to pass her residency and Alastair was the Professor, also her mentor. Shout out to dr. Alastair Hanan Rishad, Sp.BTKV for being professional about his appraisal during the third year of Julianne's residency. I see them as people who can separate their personal life, they know how to act at work.

Secondly, i love how independent Julienne was and she was even colder and meaner than Alastair 😭 i did try to understand her all over again while i was diving into their love story cause for me Julienne was like a morally grey character.

Thirdly, Alastair is the greenest among the green flagged men in Makna Series (imo) He was always calm and had a good control of himself. He was a true gentleman and the definition of 'I love you still even you push me away and say you don't love me as well because i can tell from the way you looked at me that you love me just the same even though you never said it'. He knew how to act around Julienne, not so aggressive yet passionate to show her his love, he showed her how he loved her toward his actions, and always tried his best to always be by her side no matter what. I swear he was a passionate man, the kind with such confident to try everything as long as your relationship with him will work.

Fourth, i can say that Alastair fell first yet fell harder for Julienne. He didn't need words of validation from her because what mattered to him was that she could feel his love.

Fifth, as the reader of Cecil from Some Kind and Invitation Only era i could say that she improved, her writing style gets better and better everytime she published a new story on Wattpad. I'm so proud of her for writing Ode to The Stars which tells about the life of doctors with their patients, how they have to manage their time so they also could get a proper rest. And there are so many sentences that i love from the dialogues, like this love story somehow feels authentic to me.

Sixth, i knew from the start that Julienne and Alastair story wouldn't end up well (because i saw the family tree, or should i call it as a mind map in the beginning that LJ and Alastair paired together) but that's okay though, at least, Julienne and Alastair were in love. At least they were fighting for each other and for their baby. And for me that's enough.

It's a SOLID 7.5/10 read from me. I haven't had a good read in a while and this book is definitely the MAIN CHARACTER! For me this read is chefs kiss. The world building is so good that makes me feel like I'm in the story. Personally, I felt that the 'part one' of the book was too long and I dropped it for a bit because I was pissed that Julienne is ALWAYS SO DENIAL. However, the second half was A SOLID READ? and it's definitely worth the read because it's super cute AAAAAA. I super duper love Julienne. Big respect to Alastair who never gave up and loved Julienne with his whole heart. Tbh, the ending broke me so much... But I still love you Ms. Cecillia Wang <3.

I feel so much relieved to see Alastair’s character is so straightforward through the story. A walking greenflag for sure. It is just so unfortunate to let him being left by his beloved Juju.

I could say that this one was quite easy to read, or maybe is it because i get spoiled before i read the book? I just feel a little bit emptiness diakhir bab since there are no sign of Juju suffering but she suddenly die. But Kak Cecil can write whatever she wants so….

But, up above all, i’m really serious about Alastair is a walking greenflag. Need to prepare myself first before continue his story with LJ

WOW. Lain dari yang lan endingnya. Walaupun angst, tapi gaya dan alur ceritanya sangat seru dan menarik. Sampul buku juga dibuat simpel, tp menarik sekali.

Ceritanya tentang sepasang FWB yg akhirnya menikah. Beberapa cerita ada yang 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Sayangnya ga ada penanda 18+ deh agak mengkhawatirkan salah pembaca. Jadi, sebaiknya dibaca oleh pembaca dewasa saja ya.

Got a very mixed feeling about this, it's beautiful and gut-wrenching at the same time, no spoiler from me and let the reader decide for themselves what they think about this book. This is the second book I've read from the author with this kind of ending.

Akhirnya aku melanjutkan buku ini lagi yang skrg ngebuat aku nangis huhu. Ceritanya lebih sedih menurutku dari pada evermore. Dari karakter makna series yg pernah aku baca, Juju adalah karakter yg paling aku suka 💖.

Dari segi penulisan cocok cocok aja, i noticed it ada beberapa narasi yang repetitif. Slightly slow paced for me. Diawal kayak “ini maunya sih juju apa sih?!” but the more you read it jadi “🥹🥹my juju”. From this book, definitely gonna treasure more of Cecillia Wang’s work
