One scorching-hot lesson could leave her begging for more.

The Maison Chronicles, Book 3

Reeling from the double whammy of her Dom’s abandonment, and accusations of colluding with a plagiarizing author, all literary agent Camille Winter wants is some low-profile, drama-free quality time.

Just as she’s settling into a Maison Domine cabin with her to-be-read pile and a full slate of spa appointments, she finds herself sweet talked into playing topless assistant so some Dominant can run a BDSM educational demo.

Architect Damien Winter is on a relationship hiatus, so he focuses his dominant energies on teaching BDSM classes. A chance encounter in Maison’s parking lot with a woman who angrily insists she’s no sub—though every line of her body screams otherwise—turns shocking when she winds up as temporary replacement for his demonstration partner.

Damien is unprepared for the way her beautiful submission gets under his skin. And Camille never thought she’d fall, hard, for just the kind of man she’s sworn off. But when her ex’s vague threats turn serious, Damien fears he’s already lost the chance to claim her for his own.

This book contains a fiery woman burned one too many times and the Dom who entices her to submit to the heat between them.

Skylar Kade, self-avowed hedonist and princess extraordinaire, started her writing career after throwing aside yet another romance she could not bring herself to finish. The run-on sentences! The purple prose! Oh, the horror of it was just too much. So she sat down to write her own tale. Her
favorite part about writing is the extensive research.

She currently resides in sunny southern California, alternately cursing the polluted air and adoring the often-perfect weather. Skylar spends her time asking the cabana boys to bring her more mimosas and feed her strawberries while she dreams up her next naughty adventure.

As she is permanently attached to the Internet (they are looking into surgical procedures to fix her
crackberryitis), she would love to hear from you! Catch Skylar on the Nine Naughty Novelists blog, send an email to skylarkade@gmail.com, or visit her on facebook or twitter (@skylarkade).

I love the Maison Chronicles series by author Skylar Kade and her newest release, Surrender To Fire, once again had me hooked after a slight hiccup for me in the first few pages. After that, I could not stop reading. I loved the BDSM scenes between Damien and Camille and the emotional connection they share. These two were not looking to enter into a permanent relationship or any commitment but you could see them struggling with this. I liked how Damien was so in-tuned to Camille's feelings and what she was was experiencing. It seemed that he knew her better than she knew herself. I loved how protective he was of her and how without any spoken words, his actions showed his true feelings for her. This just made him that much more sexier to me. I'm glad that Camille was able to trust Damien wholeheartedly during the demonstrations and play scenes despite what happened with her ex-boyfriend. She was the perfect submissive for Damien and I could not wait for them to finally realize they were meant to be together forever. The author did a great job describing the BDSM scenes and the sex between this couple was hot, hot, hot. I could not get enough! I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Surrender to Fire" is the third book in 'The Maison Chronicles' by Skylar Kade. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Camille Winter is a literary agent, whose current client has been accused of plagiarizing on the eve of coming back to work after her Dom left her. Camille’s world has just turned on its head. Then the threats come, at work and home, and that sends Camille off to a BDSM retreat where she meets Damien.

Damien Winter is an architect by trade who also teaches BDSM classes at different clubs and retreats. All Damien’s protective instincts come alive when he spots Camille is upset as she enters the retreat. Damien is a hot and sexy Dom.

The connection between Damien and Camille is powerful. The sex scenes were very descriptive and varied. I loved how Damien used other methods besides pain on Camille. I enjoyed seeing Damien and Camille fall in love with each other the more time they spent together. They make a great pair in and out of the bedroom even if I think they need to communicate more. I still am not sure why Camille did not tell Damien about the threats even if she didn't think anything would come of them.

I found this book to be well-written. The story was very believable. The main characters and the secondary characters are interesting and appealing. I enjoyed the ending of the story immensely even if it was a bit predictable. Overall, this was a great story. I will be keeping an eye out for the next book in the series.

Acquiring editor Camille Verona hears on the news one of her author clients, Indigo Baumgardner, is accused of plagiarizing material from a former lover. Baumgardner’s book, Memoirs of a Dominatrix, is a best seller. Cam wishes she could share the Indigo mess-up with Shawn, rather Master Shawn, but he left her feeling more submissive than any sub should be. Under pressure from the publishing company president, Cam is pushed further down the vortex of woe. Shawn was over-the-top punishing. His commands caused her back and knees to ache. In spite of surprise elements within BDSM love making, Cam wonders if she’s cut out to be a submissive. She is down in the dumps and hopes for a distraction.
Damien Winter arrives in Los Angeles to help out his brother, a new father of a baby girl, whose wife left him. He is scheduled to perform a hot-cold demonstration at the Maison Domine Lodge. The fun of the temperature technique is the sub’s inability to predict. Damien is also single again after being duped by a former submissive.
A friend to both, Kat “Mistress” Lamont from the Maison Domine arranges to have Cam as Damien’s subject in his demonstration. This is the perfect distraction Cam needs. In fact the temperature demonstration is the perfect tantalizing distraction for the reader! Damien has finesse, something Shawn lacked. Nothing hurts, but it does excite. Cam excites him in ways no other submissive has, and their sexual encounters take some new twists. I highly recommend talented Skylar Kade’s Surrender to Fire to all my friends who enjoy an erotic romp.

Damien came across as a fairly nice Dom who at times gave me whiplash. I can understand him having Cam calling him Sir during a scene but during regular conversations? One minute they are talking to each other and then Damien tells her I am not Damien you need to call me Sir. WTH?

Cam came across as very naïve. She is interested in this lifestyle and had a total asshat as a Dom before. This guy pretty much used her and abused her just to dump her. I found her too trusting and not very well informed.

Short, steamy, and wonderful!

Brilliant book! Finished it within a day. Had lots packed into it, but didn't in any way feel rushed. Only wish there were more!
All too often I've read similar books with grammar issues throughout and a really flimsy plot, but I found this one tasteful, well-written and fresh!
I would love, love, love there to be a story for Evan now, but I don't know if that's in the cards, considering it's been so long since this book came out.

Overall, really recommend this if you're looking for a short steamy read, with actual substance to it. 😊
