So many repetitive words and phrases that say so little. By chapter 3, I was wondering if there was going to be any content that wasn't just a run-on introduction. It felt like I'd read some variation of 'Slavic beliefs were deeply tied to the natural world' at least 50 times without a shred of further detail by page 40. Please, make that statement once, then offer some examples for support and illumination. "Spirits played a crucial role in ensuring the fertility of the land"... cool. How? "Farmers engaged in various rituals"... like what? Ultimately I lost interest halfway through because the same generalities were just continually restated. I was very interested in the subject matter, but can't say I ultimately learned much. A missed opportunity.
Very easy read about the different entities of Slavic Native Faith. I very much enjoyed this book as I continue to learn more about Slavic culture and beliefs.
