Before Forever is the sixth and final book in the six-part Sharing Space series. Each book is a short, fun, and sexy read that will leave you wanting more.
*** Patrick attempts to take advantage of a new opportunity in Los Angeles and Chloe makes a decision that puts more than physical distance between them. While he realizes that fame and fortune mean nothing without love, she begins to wonder if love is enough to overcome their problems.
Can Patrick convince Chloe that they were meant to be, or is it too late?

Before Forever includes an excerpt from Nina Perez's next contemporary romance, Lily in the Middle, which will be available Summer 2014. Stay updated when a new book is available by following the author:
Nina Perez is the author of a YA series of books, "The Twin Prophecies," and a collection of essays titled, "Blog It Out, B*tch."
Her latest books, a contemporary romance 6-book series titled Sharing Space, are now available on Amazon.com for Kindle download.
She's also the founder of Project Fandom.com, a website devoted to pop culture from a geek's point of view, and co-host of their podcast, Podcast Fandom.
She has a degree in journalism, works in social media, lives in Portland, Oregon, and loves Peyton Manning. When not watching massive amounts of British television or writing, she is sketching plans to build her very own TARDIS.
She watches more television than anyone you know and she's totally fine with that.
It was so well done and relatable and funny and I really liked the six short books. Chloe and Patrick had a very long road to get to where they ended up. I think the other good thing about having the separate books is that it conveyed the passage of time very well. It was believable and didn't feel like insta-love (even though I'm fine with that if it's done well). The issues with friends, family, and career were all things that happen in daily life. Even though some of the characters were really getting on my last nerve I wasn't frustrated or annoyed because it was true to life. People don't always respond the way you think they will to things. People make decisions and do things sometimes from the heart but they can still be extremely hurtful. People can be so caught up in their own stuff that they don't realize what they are doing to those around them and some people could give two poots about how their actions effect others. Most importantly at some point in life you have to decide what is important to you and what matters the most and you have to work at it and fight for it. I thought this was a wonderful story of fighting for what you want.
These books are only .99 each and I honestly did not expect the quality to be so high with a price that low. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a well thought out romance with plenty of drama and love and life. I can't wait to read more books by Nina Perez.
I liked this series a lot. It is actually put together in one book, but at the time I read it serialized. I will stick with my original 4.5 stars for the entire series because I felt the last book seemed rushed and the lack of real exploration of the change in Patrick's career fortunes seemed like a huge missed opportunity.
In my original review below I talk about this book was off trend and normalizes the normal in romance. At the time it felt true. Now six years later, just like the cartoon illustrated cover i the norm, I think a lot of what this book represents has been much more prevalent and is now the normal.
Anyhoo, this got me out of a truly numbing reading slump.
**** ORIGINAL 2013 REVIEW**** 4.5 Stars to the entire series: This is the final installment of the six part serialized book also known as the Sharing Spaces series.
I have absolutely enjoyed this series from the very first installment. So much so that it overcame my distaste for the serialized method of delivery. Also, I think when all is said and done, the author's price point felt correct for what she delivered.
This book brings our hero and heroine, Patrick and Chloe to their happily ever after.
Truthfully, I am not 100% sure why I like this series as much as I do. The writing is clean and inviting, and yet I have read books with much more captivating prose that I haven't enjoyed as much. The plot is simple without any of the amazing highs or gut-wrenching lows that make you run to write a gushing review. I wonder if the book simply is meeting a particular need that I have that I am finding elusive in many other romances that I attempt?
For one thing, this book is somewhat "off-trend."
- It isn't NA or YA - It isn't a paranormal - It isn't erotica or even romantica - It takes place in a big city - Patrick isn't a billionaire - It isn't BDSM - It has racial diversity - Patrick isn't a SEAL, FBI, CIA, or member of a MC
What it does, if this is even a thing, is it somewhat normalizes the very normal. Romance has a tendency in many cases to deliver fantasy. Unspoken is the idea that unless you are reading about larger than life situations and people that it can't be romantic or even exciting. But I feel that having to read about all these exciting people be excitingly romantic can be exhausting.
In Chloe we have a marketing executive and in Patrick we have an aspiring actor. Their relationship is one of discovery. The well drawn supporting characters' actions either directly or indirectly impact that discovery and we get to watch as the two adjust, change and grow based on that stimuli. Much the the conflict in the relationship is external until this final book where some of the small microagressions Chloe has been experiencing collide head on with Patrick's ambitions. This is the first real bump that their relationship has experienced that has been solely about them. I think both parties handled it poorly and I really would have liked for this to have happened earlier in the series so that the fallout could have been better explored. But I never got a sense that this was manufactured, but rather felt realistic for their situation.
The ending was I think the one concession to standard romance trope, one of the first that I have really seen in this series as it has felt remarkably trope-free. But I can live with it since our couple got their HEA.
My biggest criticism is that although I came around to the serialization aspect, I don't think served the story well in the end. The initial installments felt much more assured in both the pacing and transitions. As the story progressed, the transitions felt a bit choppier and the pacing felt a little rushed, especially in this final book. I wonder if the author herself began to get impatient with the release schedule? I do think that some of the scene shifts in the later installments felt a bit abrupt and I would have liked to have seen a more gradual build up to the pay offs of a few of the plot threads. Also I think it was a missed opportunity given Patrick's change in acting fortunes not to have had some scenes with his two best friends in this last book. They were absent and it was a glaring absence given their importance in the earlier installments.
But this was a such a fun series to read that I am only a bit wistful at the smallish things that I would have liked. Getting each installment was like getting a new present that I was eager and excited to unwrap. I can't think of the last time I had that kind of eagerness at getting a book.
If you like Alpha heroes and angst then you will not like this book at all. But if you like a cool couple whose courtship may seem a lot like people you know, then i think you might find this a good book to read.
Much more tell than show as opposed to its predecessors. And I'm wondering about the mother's behaviour at the end. I would have liked some more attention paid to the other characters also. The prior books brought their lives into focus as well. This last installment left them all hanging. The arc was rushed and some elements were underdeveloped speeding toward a sappily sweet HEA.
Nonetheless, I did like the thought I had to give to both sides of the issue in relation to the quarrel here. I had to pose the question to myself about what my stance would be. It's a credit to the story that both sides could have been so fully understood and empathy could be granted to both parties.
So overall: Some schmaltzy points, some dramatic moments but good-ish enough, I suppose.
Clearly I am sad to see this wonderful series come to an end. But alas as with all good things nothing lasts forever.
Patrick and Chloe took me on an amazing ride. The was full of ups, downs, angst, wanting, love and most importantly "Forever Together"
I love how the author Nina Perez was able to tell a story that sucked you right in from the very first book and keep you riveted and panting for the next book, then the next book, then the next book. Until the final book "Before Forever" Book #6 made its way onto our e-readers with such a flourish that it was sad to see it end.
Nina Perez is now one of my sought after authors. If you haven't read this series, I am begging you to get on it because you will not regret it.
Loved reading the final part of Chloe and Patrick's story--but hated to see it end. Nina does a great job of tying up all the loose ends in the plot, taking us deeper into the dynamics of their relationship and the problems that arise thanks to Patrick's conniving ex and his meddlesome (but well meaning) mother.
So what happens? On the heels of Uncle Troy announcing that he is retiring, Patrick finds out he's been cast in an HBO mini series produced by George Clooney. But when Patrick agrees to pretend he is unattached as part of the publicity machine, he puts his relationship with Chloe in jeopardy. Can they bounce back from four months apart and life in the celebrity fishbowl?
A great, quick read with fun characters you'll fall in love with. :)
Nina Perez had me hooked from "Roommate Wanted" and hasn't failed me since. This book, the last in the series, dives into some of the negative experiences of being in an interracial relationship (two in particular that I can personally attest to) as well as dating a semi-celebrity (can't attest to that one). All of the books in the Sharing Space series are quick, fun, and sexy reads. Her writing is exciting and she does an excellent job at keeping current with how her characters talk and other pop culture references. I can't wait until Nina's next book!
I came across the Sharing Space Series while looking for interracial romances and at first I was apprehensive because it was broken up in to chapters. I gave it a shot and was not disappointed I absolutely fell in love with Patrick and Chloe and could not wait book to book to continue to follow the story. Nina Perez has a way of drawing you into her characters and making you feel connect. I am now a fan of Mrs. Perez and is looking forward to the next series.
I can't just rate Searing Space 6 . I'm rating Sharing Space 1through 6. This series was, funny, sexy and I loved most of the main characters. I liked the fact that Chole was smart and assertive without being abrasive . The author didn't rush their relationship. They were friends first and eventually became lovers. I was rooting for this couple throughout this series. I'm actually sorry to see it end. I look forward to more stories by Me Perez.
This was my favorite book in the series by far! It tied everything up with a nice bow. I saw on the author's website that there is a part 2 of this series and I cannot wait to read it! I hope my library has it, as it did with this one.
Chloe and Patrick's relationship is challenged now that they are in love. They are separated by states and there are people who have been and pop up to get in between them as well.
The sharing space series was always in my Amazon recommend list. Finally I downloaded a sample of before forever and it peaked my interest. It just happened that I came across the entire series for one low price. Im glad I made the purchase. Chloe was my kind of girl. She was intelligent, sweet, generous, and had a kind heart. Patrick was just as wonderful. I loved how the stories progressed and had a point of view from Chloe and Patrick. Even the secondary characters had life. I especially liked Paul. Myra however had a lot of issues to work out but she came around in the end. I will be purchasing more books from Nina and recommending her to my friends.
Wow! ! I'm so glad I picked up this series. Normally I pass on books that are released a few chapters at a time. But being in an interracial relationships / marriage, I wanted to read someone else's take on the issues. I found this story to be relatable and realistic. Chloe and Patrick deal with alot of the issues facing interracial couples. I love how they find their way though the issues. I laughed and cried while reading these books and loved every moment of it. Nina Perez did an excellent job and I won't hesitate to buy her books in the future.
Thoroughly enjoyable series! I'd have preferred more explicit sex personally, but I can't say it affected my enjoyment of the characters and the romance. If erotic content isn't a priority for you, this series might be just the thing!
I really really hope Ms Perez writes a sequel featuring any of the secondary characters in this series! (Michael, maybe?!) I loved them all and would be happy to revisit anytime!
Chloe was really tripping about the whole no girlfriend thing. I really enjoyed Chloe and Patrick in this one. I wanted a bit more drama with them but it was just enough. Quick reads that are worth reading.
