Everyone has secrets, towns have secrets, uncovering secrets can have dire consequences. In the title story, Aborted, Chelsea Jane spirals out of her average teenage world into a world of drug use and crime. She hooks up with an older man, Joe Ranger, he impregnates her and she foresees the world she could create for the child and after Joe discovers Chelsea Jane’s leanings, he imprisons her underground in an abandoned mine... But the mine has a secret of its own.
Other stories include: Everyday Monsters - an especially short, short story that follows two brothers with a peculiar hobby, Last Chance Bingo - a young man runs out of options and take a position as an evening cleaner at a Bingo hall, but the players aren’t who he expected, Nyquil Hero - misinformation fuels a young boy’s paranoia and he takes it out to the world beyond his parent’s condo, Freedom Dreaming - a man has a marital problem and sees only one way to solve it, even if he can’t tell dreams from reality and finally Wheels on the Bus - life is hard for a perpetual screw up and his over achieving brother doesn’t make it easier and he finally takes out his anger, but life finally catches up with him.
