Updated Review 4/27/25: EEEEEEPPPPPP!! I loved this volume so much! I deeply enjoyed seeing Momo and Ichikura become closer, and especially loved the ending and seeing them REALLY be together! Lots of squeals and giggling and very excited for the next volume!!
Original Review 5/12/24: I LOVED THIS VOLUME SO MUCH!!
Like volume one, this volume was complete perfection! I loved the moments of seeing Ichikura show he DOES care for Momose and IS dating her even if at first nothing looked different or had changed.
The gyaru chapter was funny and really appreciated how it pushed the romance forward in a meaningful way instead of just causing drama just to cause drama.
The ending though was my favorite! EEEEEEPPP!!
I'm going to have to figure out a way to get extra points on K MANGA to keep reading or cave and buy chapters with my credit card because I'm loving this story so much that I don't want to stop reading! My face was physically hurting from how much I was grinning when reading! SO GOOD!
Certainly not the delight that the first one was, but I’m still really fond of Momose and Ichikura as characters. Now that they’re dating they have to figure out what that is and Momose has to keep seeing Ichikura as something other than a delinquent.
The problem with a lot of romance stories is that they only actually have one character, plus some doormat audience surrogate who has nothing going for them. Your mileage may vary, but I think that Momose fares better than most of her peers.
This feels like a relationship of equals; both of them have their weaknesses, yet they also bring something to the table in different ways. Ichikura tends to be the bolder of the two, but Momose’s no slouch.
There are some weird moments this time out that make it a little less of the slam dunk I had with the first volume. The gyaru character, who shows up out of nowhere to basically torment Momose and Ichikura is a prime example.
She literally vanishes as quickly as she came and, besides being shamelessly aggressive, her big character trait is the very vague clothing choices that make her a gyaru. She’s really half-assing it compared to some of her contemporaries, if we’re being honest.
When we get to the good stuff? It is good, is the thing. It’s not like we’ve never seen the zoo before, but these two have an obvious great time with one another. Plus, they waste no time trying to get cozy.
That’s before the other new character, another delinquent from Ichikura’s past, shows up. His angle, that he wants to be friends but doesn’t know how to show it, isn’t bad, even if that escalates to him kidnapping Momose.
It’s pretty sweet how hard Ichikura is trying to prove he’s changed, honestly, even if he can still be a bit rough. But he’s slowly sanding the edges off and coming through where it matters most. He loves Momose and it’s reflected in his actions rather than just empty words.
I know I was crazy nice to that first volume and I still think it was a stellar opening. This one is still pretty dang charming and I won’t begrudge it not having quite as much heft as its opening salvo.
3.5 stars - good shojo is good, but definitely not AS good and I have to be real about its quality when the novelty is wearing off. Still a very pleasant read, mind you.

4.5 rounded up. I fucking love eating fluffy stories like this one! This one made me actually kick my feet in the air full of giddiness and whimsy. The writing in this series reminds me of this one author's comment in Seraph of the End where he writes chapters by planning how they'll be in the volume. Both this and the first volume had solid and clear beginning, middles, and ends and it's nice to see the pacing be very focused on volumes as it makes it read very well. Their dynamic is so cute with her being some flustered and him having some lingering delinquent quirks. This one focuses on
OMG I didn’t realize this volume is chapter 4-8 so I was so sad when it ended. after chapter 8, it says there’s more coming on 12.13.21, but this is really it. the ending made it feel like there was more potential, it felt like the story could have gone on for another volume, but they chose to end it here. the ending wasn’t disappointing, it just felt like there could have been more. I did enjoy this story though, I would 10/10 recommend it to literally anyone I know!
THIS MANGA IS SO UNDERWHELMING AND SHORT 😭😭 ichikura's existence in the shoujo world felt like such a waste if the manga was.. this.. dismaying??
like i had no problem with the romantic stuff the author did a really good job in drawing them and plotting the scenes out but there's not much to the plot and i EXPECTED MORE.. it's such shame it was so short lived, i would probably pick up more of the volumes had the author released more
I love that the characters do not really hide their feelings in this series and it’s just volume 2! Ichikura asks Momose to be his girlfriend and although at first it feels like nothing has changed, little actions become bigger and these two just make you blush. Ichikura has a way of making Momose unsure and then embarrassed with her feelings where he’s showing he’s not shy but those little blushes can’t hide from us. It’s really cute and I’m excited for the next volume.

I haven't felt this giddy reading a romance manga in ages!! I don't know how this mangaka does it, but every time Ichikura does anything I'm screaming and kicking my feet. Momose and Ichikura are so cute together!! I need 50 volumes of this story! It is a CRIME that the next English volume isn't out until July!!
This romance definitely moves a lot faster than the typical slow burn. The characters are already dating in this second volume and there's a few hurdles that they still have to jump over but it seems that each character is growing and going through changes so that their relationship can work. It depicts what I feel is a fairly healthy relationship!

I have similar feelings on this volume as I did for volume one. I don't feel emotionally invested in this couple even though I objectively find this very cute. However, just like the previous volume, the ending won me over again. I'll try at least one more volume and see where that takes me.
i'll be honest and say that i like this cover a more than the first one, but storywise it's got the same vibe thru the overall story from chap 1-8 so can't really say much except that i love them
(also i read that this one is listed for chapter 4-8?? i didn't know lol)
Super cute! I really enjoy the art but the story seems to be a little stalled out in terms of anything happening besides them expressing more of their feelings for one another. With the multitude of new manga coming out I may put this one on the back burner after this volume for a little.
I love this shoujo manga. Its is cute, sweet, a bit of conflict that is always resolved with them talking to one another, I really can't find anything I don't like. Their date was cute and I can't wait for more.
Menudo monada de manga!!! Que bonitos son los protagonistas y que bien llevada está la historia!! Ojalá fuese más larga la verdad porque no me cansaría nunca de saber como les va a esos dos.
