I loved this book from the first to the last page! 👀 It's simply amazing! ❤️‍🔥🤌

An amalgamation of emotions: from rebellion, love, friendship, to confusion, crimes, deceitful games, and revenge.

WARNING! It shakes you and throws you against the walls! It made me tear up at times just to immediately make me melt 🥵🌶🤫 (exactly when I thought it wasn't possible anymore).

Belle is simply one of the characters I admired the most. I loved witnessing the stages of her maturity, from a child with a heartbreaking and tough past to a strong 19-year-old, even if she's sometimes stubborn and impulsive. Despite these traits, she wants to evolve, help her friends, and... get revenge. What I admire most about her is her determination and the fact that she listens to her heart. 🤭

It took me days to process the rollercoaster of emotions that Tufe put me through with this book. Absolutely 5 stars! 🤌 I warn you: the guys in this book are more delicious than all the chocolate in the world and can be addictive! Until the end, you won't know who the heck you prefer :)) It has everything! Sexy and rogue guys? Checked. Guys to take home? Checked! Guys who would set the whole world on fire for her? Checked! A protective devil of a brother who will break your heart? Checked!

Prepare your hearts and minds because AGOT is a damn different story, and that's exactly what makes it addictive. I'm still hyperventilating. Laughing and crying.
Give me the next book now!!

A game of trust - A. M. Tufe
Book 1 in Family Affairs series - Releases May 24th
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“The only person I can depend on is myself. Broken, beautiful, lethal. I am who I am, and no one can take that away from me.”

Belle welcomes us into a world full of danger, a world we could not survive, yet she did and we see her grow and evolve. She’s such a strong character, one that I admire. Life was cruel with her from when she was only a baby and kept on breaking her and causing her pain. We have so much to learn from her and she’s so easy to love, she’s so real, with flaws and qualities.

Life and those she loves may betray her, but she stands on her feet, ready to take what it’s thrown in her way. She has herself and Rha, a raven that’s so alike to her. With Belle I felt everything she felt, love, freedom, betrayal, happiness, sadness, desperation. There are so many emotions portrayed perfectly that make you go from laughing and happiness to crying with a broken heart.

“Didn’t you say that you are ready for this world, Belle?”

I don’t usually read Dystopian books, but this one… chef’s kiss. A dark dystopian romance who is so different and who felt like a breath of fresh air. I was hooked from the very beginning, ready to be impressed and ready to fall in love with this world of cruel things. Yet, at the same time I wasn’t ready for how the ending finished me (yeah, yeah… I finished the book and the book ended me & now I have to wait patiently for the next one in the series).

I questioned everything and had my own theories about the past and future. I kept telling myself that it’s all a game of trust and I need to have faith and hope in everything and that all will be good in the end. It’s fiction after all, but after the last few chapters I am scared…

When I started the book I jumped on a roller coaster with no way to stop it and I simply enjoyed the ride, the book boyfriends that are easy to love, that give you everything you need and at the same time can easily break you. AGOT is dark, action packed, dangerous, but also about family. And who doesn’t love a good found/chosen family book? I sure do and if you do too, you really need to give it a chance.

What more can I say? Tufe, mother of Escador, you did such an amazing job and I am so happy I got the chance to read it. You’re so talented and have so many potential and I hope this book will be read by many cause you & Belle deserve it 🤍🤍🤍

“We will all live forever as I will write our story.”

I beg you to give us the next book sooner, we need the rest of the story 🥺🥺🥺

AGOT is a dystopian dark romance book who follows the story of Belle, a strong female caracter and her chosen family.
The world that the autor build is so fascinating. We have a new continent, Escador who has six districts- Maha, Isana, Puth, Nethia, Peche, Annex- and the Vitalia Island.
The journey of the caracters is amazing and caught me from the first pages.
The story has it all, action, suspans, mistery, love and a lot more. It took me through all possible moods, from laughting out loud to screaming on the screen and arguing with the caracters.
I’m not gonna lie. In the end, I cried like a baby and I just wished to have the book 2, because the last chapter left me with my mouth open.
In the end, I want to left here the quote who rip my heart out and left me in tears.

“Fiction, Belle. In fiction, everything is possible.”

First of all I need to mention the amount of detail that was put into this amazing story, art characters, map a playlist divided by each part of the book…I’m in LOVE with this 😍😍😍

This book is a Dark Dystopian Romance, and although I usually don’t read dystopian stories that often, this one is chef kiss 🤌

I personally loved that we get to know our FMC Belle from a young age until she’s 19yo, and really get to know how her past has shaped her into who she is today.

This story is only the beginning of a series that I’m totally in for it! This was such a roller coaster of emotions that I can’t even express how I feel 🙈

And this end…I have so many questions…
I need book 2 asap!!!

Ps: please take in consideration the trigger warnings before starting AGOT

A special thank you to A.M Tufe for providing me the arc of this masterpiece 🫶🏼

I’m not typically a dystopia reader but this book was perfection. I don’t want to give you any spoilers, but I’ll tell you this: the author created a whole new continent for the worst of the worst. Escador is all about murder, blood and betrayal. Or so it seems. Tufe’s debut book is a masterpiece that only a genius editor could write. She manages to bring family, love and hope in quite literally the worst places that could exist on Earth. Her characters are very well rounded and lovable, even tho they are all trained assassins, the twists are breathtaking and the romances are all so good you simply cannot pick an OTP. The plot is the perfect balance between action scenes that get your heart racing and lovely moments between people who consider each other family. Definitely a future bestseller and a must read.

A Game Of Trust was an incredibly exciting start to a new dystopian novel series. At the beginning I wasn't entirely sure if I would like the book, but I'm so glad I continued reading because it gets really good from the second part onwards.

It’s one of those books that make you bite your nails, swoon, get angry, frustrated and sob uncontrollably.

If you like books with a strong female lead and an exciting plot where you never know which character you can really trust, then this book is for you!

Please note that this is the first part of a trilogy and is not intended to be read on its own.

This book made me feel every feeling on the spectrum... How is this a debut novel???

I am always a sucker for a story with a badass fmc and this is exactly that. We get to see Belle grow into this feisty and cut-throat young woman who takes no bs from anyone. While she has an extremely flawed past, she still manages to build this very strong exterior.

While the romance is very smoothly woven into the story, I will go ahead and say that the exploration and bumpy evolution of the sibling relationship between Belle and Bri was my favorite and it pulled at all of my heart strings.

The author then goes ahead and breaks my heart in the last 10% of the book and drops the hugest plot twist...I NEED BOOK 2 NOW!!!!!

I loved every second of this and I feel privileged I got to read the ARC of this amazing story :)

I received Game of Trust as an ARC.
As I, however, decided to DNF at ~30%, I’ll stick to explaining my reasons rather than reviewing the book.

In my opinion, some parts seem a bit rushed, a bit… fast paced in a way that unfortunately makes it hard for me to stay interested in continuing, not least because the writing feels bumpy to me.

Of course, this is very subjective. I’ve seen the other opinions and truly love that this book is appreciated by so many.

The story seems intriguing and the plotting isn’t necessarily bad. It’s just the writing style and execution that throws me off, personally.

I wish the author nothing but the best for the upcoming release and hope many more will enjoy the book even if it wasn’t for me.

I don't know if I should cry or scream.

Everything about this book made me literally obsessed. From the first part in which we see young Belle, to the third one that I just refuse to believe happened.
I went in this book with so many expectations because I know Tufe's mind is amazing, and she didn't disappoint. The action is perfect, the characters are powerful; this book is a masterpiece.
It's a rollercoaster full of emotions and I don't know how I am suppose to wait until the second book comes out.

Tufe, all I can say is...
...WOW

....and why did you break my heart like that?

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you A.M. Tufe for the opportunity to read A Game of Trust. 🖤

Tropes include (but are not limited to): Found family, why choose, organised crime, dystopian romance.
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️/5
Dark rating: 💀💀/5

I want to preface by saying that to me, three stars is still a good rating. However, I did struggle a lot when it came down to deciding what rating to give this book. In my mind, my choice of rating is solid and I see a lot of potential for higher ratings for the upcoming books in this series (which I’m looking forward to reading). 💫

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been reading a fair share of ARCs that weren’t really my cup of tea (which is fine). They pushed me straight into a slump - which this book then proceeded to slowly pull me out of. And at this point, I did question myself and whether I was being biased or not. Did I enjoy it so much because compared to my last few ARCs it was simply better? Would I have enjoyed it as much had I not read a few of (for me) low rated ARCs right before? How does it compare to other books I’ve rated 3, 4 and even 5 stars? It was all made even more difficult over the fact that A.M. Tufe is so, so sweet and I consider her one of my booksta friends. Because despite us being friendly and her being such a sweetheart, I also knew that I wanted to keep my review unbiased (if you’re reading this, I’m so proud of you!!). 🫶🏻

With that being said, keep in mind that my reviews are rarely based on vibes and I take a lot of things into consideration - and with A Game of Trust, I had to dive a little deeper to truly make sure I kept it fair and honest.

A Game of Trust is a romance set in a dystopian world that differs from ours. It has a lot of the elements I enjoy in a book such as interesting world building (it gave me a bit of a Hunger Games-kind of a feel), a variety in characters and includes some of my favourite tropes. I also want to give a special shout out to the heroine’s animal companion, Rha the raven, which captured my heart with her loyalty and devotion. 🐦‍⬛🖤

Starting the book, I was struggling a little to get into it (whether it was because of the book, because of the slump I was in or something else - I honestly don’t know) but once I did, it truly was smooth sailing. Reading it, I kept in mind that this is the author’s debut and I was truly pleasantly surprised. We’re introduced to a vast selection of characters and I quickly found my favourites one moment only to have my heart ripped out the next. A Game of Trust definitely turned out to be quite the emotional rollercoaster at times and I did occasionally consider throwing my kindle into the wall. 🙄 But getting to know the characters was fun although I would’ve wanted to get to know them some more. I wanted to dive deeper into their psyche, see more of the dynamic between the characters to truly get a feel for them - and naturally, we get more of some characters than we do others. Hopefully, some of them will be elaborated on more in the next book - because that will make my heartbreak taste even sweeter.🤞🏻

Now, A Game of Trust is a pretty long (400+ pages) book and I understand that you always have to kill your darlings, make priorities and there are always guidelines for how long a debut ought to be. But there’s a lot going on and it’s a bit fast paced compared to my usual reads, which is more a personal preference rather than a reflection on the author. As said, there’s a lot of things happening and we also get to meet our strong heroine in her mid-teens before we get to go on this journey with her in her early adulthood, and I enjoyed getting to experience both. We’re taken on a journey that’s intriguing and which pulled me in, because the story is enticing all on its own and I’m curious to see where it’ll take us moving forward.

There’s drama (and trauma), it’s not too dark (you might think it is, however!) and honestly, my fave characters are a set of male twins who are into ✨sharing✨ - and I’m not even sorry about that. 💁🏻‍♀️

First of all, I want a Rha 👀🖤

After reading the synopsis I created an overall picture of how the action of the book would unfold, but after reading the first chapters I discovered that it is not as I expected, but much better. More complex.

I liked the relationship between the two siblings, even though I hated him when he left. I didn't expect their reunion to be like this either, although I was hoping it wouldn't come to what Belle promised it would.

At first I didn't think I was going to like Ex, Dust was among my favorites, even if it was to drown Belle 😅. But then I discovered more of Ex and became attached to him. Until I got to the end and just one sentence turned my fantasy upside down.

Dust continued to climb the ranks of the favourites, and there he stayed. I don't think anything or anyone can change my opinion of him. I want to know even more about him.

Mixie is the friend I didn't know I needed and I once had one like her. I don't know if I'm the only one who saw that she was kind of a mother figure to Belle. But it was also the other way around. They had each other, even if they had nothing.

Brian, my pretty boy🤭. He stole my heart from the very beginning and I really didn't want to hate him, even though, because of him, also indirectly, Belle ended up suffering.

I still don't know what it is about those yellow eyes and those words she remembers, but I'm thinking about it.

Rhune and Daemon I think are my second favorite villains. I got so attached to them I didn't know what to believe. I really didn't want anything to happen to those two. The two of them are two totally different people, even though they are twins, and that's what I liked about them even more. I don't know what happened, how it happened, but I became more attached to Rhune.

This book became an instant favorite of mine and I realized it after only half of reading it. It's a dark dystopian, with enough romance. The relationships between the characters were perfectly described without any confusion. It was easy for me to understand the world that Belle is a part of.

There are twists and turns. Hearts break (mine the most 😭). There are secrets. Family connections I didn't expect and still have questions about.

I know Brian hurt Belle and maybe the other readers hate him or hated him, but I can't do it, especially after learning why he did it.

This book has everything. Secrets, betrayals, family ties, friendships, other kind of relationships between characters.

The action is perfect, described exactly as it should be, without any gaps. Exactly to my taste. I found myself reading the quest parts faster and easier than the rest of the story.

I expected to hate some of the characters because they have indirectly hurt the protagonist in the past, but I grew to like them and cried at the end. For this I do not forgive you @amtufeauthor, even if I am impatient for the next volume.

I still can't believe what I read, especially the ending. I still hope it's just a dream. How could you get me attached to them and then destroy my bubble of happiness? 😭😭😭💔

📖: A Game of Trust by A. M Tufe
Book 1- Family Affairs series

Review: 5 ⭐️

It was a roller-coaster from the beginning, I laughed, cried, and fell in love with every character. Belle is a strong and fierce fmc who does not take sh*t from anyone. Brian is a big brother who will do anything to protect his little sister and even what he did. I get it, but he would still do the same thing again.

"I love you," he says
"I love you,"
"More than anything in this world, I love you,"

Mixie, every girl needs a Mixie in her life.
I'm mad at Ex tbh, but I want to know what happened, why he left, and where he is. Why did my favourite characters have to die? Why??? , and ugh! I do love their brotherly love, I could feel it. It was such a contrast to their life and work.

"Fiction, Belle. In fiction, everything is possible,"

Dust is such a mystery I want to know about his past. I hope we get that in the book. I have more questions than answers, as she said. Book 2 should come soon, please, dear author. That ending needs to be addressed. I had whiplash one minute, I was crying, and the next, I was trying to understand where the story was going. Amazing characters and a plot that kept me turning the pages faster than my eyes could read.

"Everything is possible in fiction."

Belle, Bri, and Ex are the starting point and the center of this novel. Belle was raised by Bri and Ex, both less than a decade her senior, in an impoverished district of Escador. They live off of the bare minimum through stolen goods and fighting. The reader is given snippets of events to stitch together this chosen family's cohabitation.

Fast forward through a life-altering choice and a traumatic event, Belle is now an adult and serves as a prominent member of the Annex district. She is presented as a strong female character who has an internal struggle with insecurities in her own emotions and thoughts.

Belle and her club must address some acts of violence and threats made towards them. This lands them on the Vitalia Island. Their eventful visit takes place over the course of several weeks and ends with spilled blood.

A Game of Trust is a dystopian...urban fantasy with key information regarding the characters and plot given in the last 10% of the book. I feel I would have been less critical of the characters if I had been given some of this key information earlier on in the book. I didn't love the characters and was left hoping for more personal growth in the FMC. I am a tenacious reader and continued to read. I was rewarded with an interesting plot development and a cliffhanger at the end.

I won’t say too much because this book is one that you have to go blind. To get the full experience and feel the twisted mind of A.M. Tufe, you need to go in as blind as possible. Belle is such a powerful woman who learns the hard way what life can truly be about. The details that went into this fictional world are amazing. I have to say I kept forgetting that this was her debut novel because it is crazy how much this book makes you think she has been writing books for years and years. It is a complex world with twists and turns all around but that is exactly what will keep you dreaming and thinking about this book. Also, let me mention the amazing artwork within the book, it is just beautiful and represents Belle and her special friend Rha. ;) You discover the world with Belle as she discovers who she really is and what is all around her. Which just makes this book even more amazing. A found family that needs a Game of Trust to find the way!

Wtf...

What the f........
This book had too much going on. Don't get me wrong I liked it, I was turning pages fast to figure out the plot, but when the plot happen and a WHOLE chunk of need to know just gets wiped from the book I mean that's disappointing.
The Gold eye people ? Don't hear anything about them?
Ex where is he at? You can't just cut off a main character like that, just when spice starts to burn with the twins. But in saying that the twins, yeah, we needed more spice with them?
I'm happy old dom is alive I guess but I really wanted ex to come back, or mixie & dust to escape with.
You've done great, it's a great book, I'm just a greedy ready who likes more detail

This book was FANTASTIC. I read it in like a few days, it got my attention. The plot was everything I needed. The book had the tropes that I love and now I am in my dystopian/fantasy era and I enjoyed this book so much. I really loved the twins, cried so much at the end, giggled at every moment of them with Belle, absolutely loved Brian, still sceptical with Ex, buttt I have some theory that he will have me jaw droppin in the next book Loved Mixie and Dust, hated with all guts Belle and Brian's father. Cried so much at Brian's Pov and yeah...left me heartbroken. Love you A.M.Tufe! ❤️🫶🏼, glad that I can consider you my friend!

I don't know if I finished this book or if it finished me because, goddamn. Every time I thought I liked a character, and oh, how much I loved some of them, Tufe thought she was in Game of Thrones and made EVERYONE DIE SOMEHOW.

I can tell you that even though this isn’t a fantasy book (it’s a dystopian book about family affairs), if you are a fan of GOT, you’ll adore this because it follows the same premise: ALL CHARACTERS THAT ARE LOVED BY THE READERS MUST DIE.

Other than that, I loved Belle, Bri, Ex—oh, I loved every character. The plot was super intense, and I can tell you that I WANT AND NEED THE SECOND BOOK NOW. Tufe, if you’re reading this, GIVE IT TO ME.

A Game of Trust has the perfect balance between the plot and personal life of the character.

If you are looking for an exciting read, this is the book for you. It’s surely focused on the plot, character growth, the family and team relation in the FMCs life. The dystopian part of it pretty light.

For those who love exciting plot twists, complex characters with some good romance, you should give this a go.

I’m conflicted on how I feel about this book cause I did have a really good time reading it, the world was super interesting and the characters were cool. I like Belle, I’m confused about Ex and I love the twins but by the end I did feel my attention slipping.

I will probably continue on but not right away
