11 books201 followersI've been some semblance of a writer since 1st grade. That was when I first tasted the delight of getting a book published and reading it aloud to the class with rave reviews. What a power trip for a 7-year-old.
It wasn't until 7th grade that I was highly encouraged by my English teacher to continue writing poetry outside of class assignments. From there I moved on to Literary Club in 8th grade and added short stories to my repertoire.
When high school came around, that was when I discovered the wondrous world of FanFiction. It all went downhill from that point. Numerous teachers in high school loved my work and submitted some of my (safe) pieces for publication. My teachers were the reason that I told myself,
"I can do this. I can be a published author one day."
In college, the trend continued but I pursued a career path in the design sector and writing went on the back burner. That is until a month after THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, in 2022, I decided to start writing once again. It started with FanFic after FanFic, fast and furious.
Writing is my passion, my escape. Always has been, always will be.

Where do I even start with this book????? I haven’t read a book that was so astounding from the very beginning on a long time!! There’s almost a reverse grumpy/sunshine vibe with our main characters. She’s all awkward, sassy, and side eyeing and he’s like a suave well kept golden retriever! There’s so much chemistry between them right out of the gate.
Fair warning, the spice level is through the roof! Definitely 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. This is a laugh out loud RomCom about loving yourself where you are, to me. There were times I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes and then on the next page I was “clutching my pearls” at the things these two were up to!
Paige is a world famous literary author who publishes under a pen name, Bridgette Paige. She has finally let her agent talk her into a writers retreat for the weekend to help alleviate her writers block. She finds herself in a situation with her book that she can’t seem to get around. Her characters need to learn how to bring the steam, but she doesn’t have enough satisfying 😏 experience to write about it
Penn is at this retreat because life is so busy and nobody else knows that he’s a highly beloved and published author. It would interfere with his day job. He too, writes under a pen name. So he runs away to these retreats when he can, under the guise that it’s work related for his day job. Penn decides that he can help introduce Paige to some of the satisfaction 😏 she needs to experience to help get her scenes and experiences on the page accurately.
One thing leads to another… and then another… and then again 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ until these two are falling down the rabbit hole. 😉😉
The banter between the two is astounding. There’s tons of good back and forth between the characters. Lots of saucy interludes. Plenty of hilarious situations, statements, and dialogue to keep anyone interested!

How do I put into words my feelings for this book? It’s been a while since I’ve been completely obsessed with reading a book. That was this book.
It was basically kind of a reverse grumpy/sunshine with our beautiful almost recluse Paige who is definitely avoiding socialization when she can. She’s the cutest awkward and shy but also fiesty and sassy character and then we have penn who is this Greek god looking man who is an absolute golden retriever guy. The chemistry is amazing in this book I absolutely loved the banter and the funny conversation they both had.
Now the spice in this book was magnificent and my goodness!
I laughed at this book so much and just overall thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I want to go to a retreat and meet a guy like penn….

I’m a lover of the dark smutty vilian style romance books, but reading this cute romcom with a sprinkle of spice to add to it was a breath of fresh air.
The books about two authors, one the female Paige who’s the grumpy one and Penn the male who’s the sweet little golden retriever type of guy. Paige is convinced to go on a writers retreat when she has a case of writers block and meets Penn who was more of a secret author that plays off as a hobbyist but is really the billionaire that notices Paige looking at him the night she checks into the retreat. He sees her drinking loads of caffeine and decides to come up to her and talk her into writing in the best spot of the retreat location. It’s a slow build up but its so so cute! Honestly I just kept fantasizing over Penn like he sounds so dang dreamy in the book.
Typically I push myself away from books where the female is described as “the outcast” “doesn’t see herself as pretty” etc. etc. because I like a good solid strong woman in a book, but I enjoyed this read!
Also I’m super picky on my writing style and at first I wasn’t to sure about the book because the style it gave off was one I usually can’t get past but it just builds and builds and all in all turned out to be such a cute read!
Can’t wait to see this one fly off the shelves after release date.

I was hooked from the very beginning! Paige and Penn- their banter had me laughing out loud, tearing up and 🥵 blushing! It was just what I needed in this Steamy Rom-Com.
While at a writers retreat, Paige needs help bringing the steam to her characters slow burn romance-Penn is more than willing to help “inspire” her!
They both have a secret and want a no-strings attached deal. But Penn seems to be the very definition of Book Boyfriend, while Paige is a curvy, awkward, anxiety ridden recluse that he can’t get enough of.
This needs to be on everyone’s TBR immediately!

First book I’ve read by this author and I can honestly say I look forward to reading more!
The book focuses on two authors meeting during a writing retreat and how the relationship blossoms between the two.
There’s spice, drama, twists and turns. Everything you could ask for. The beginning was a bit slow for me. once I got around 30% into the book, I couldn’t put it down.

K. Iwancio has done it again!!!! This is the third book I’ve ARC read for her, and oooooooh the spice on this one 😩 Penn and Paige are probably my favorites at the moment.
Overview and Summary
Paige: Our best selling fantasy writer, also known as Bridget Paige, whose main love affairs consist of trolling the online forums for inspiration and an assortment of pleasure items. She decides to take her editor/agent’s advice and go to a writer’s retreat to help cure her writer’s block when she discovers that her lack of sexual partners is hindering her latest manuscript.
Penn: Billionaire CEO with a secret flair for writing. So secret, in fact, that he is also a best seller in the sci-fi scene. His only chances to write are on writer’s retreats because his father breathing down his neck about the life of the company doesn’t allow for creative expression.
They meet at a writer’s retreat, and since Paige is struggling to convey the smut her characters are demanding take place, she finds herself sharing a bed with a stranger named Penn. Penn calls it research, a fun dalliance for research, but of course, he becomes attached to her.

Vibes: Hallmark meets booktok smut. Immaculate. Definitely a reread during those cozy winter nights.
Because the vibes of this book are so good, I choose to ignore some of Paige’s “pick-me” tendencies. Paige and Penn both have some bland personality traits–like Paige’s inability to know what is attractive until she meets Penn and Penn’s weird “writing is my life but I don’t want to let my dad down” tangents–but I did enjoy their banter.
Spice rating: this is definitely just porn with a plot (4 chili peppers), but I liked it because the plot was easy to follow along and my suspension of disbelief was not too suspended.

Only Paige doesn't know Penn is a successful sci-fi author who published a book years ago and his fans are awaiting a sequel. Paige realizes the reason she is blocked is because of the plot she is trying to write with the budding romance of her characters. Penn offers to inspire her in all things romance - physically speaking. Can Penn and Paige keep their physical relationship professional? Can they forget what happened at the retreat? Or is this destined to be something more?
If you like romantic comedies with spice and a happy ending this is your book! It's an incredibly well written book with great character development. I loved the inner monologues of both characters as they were realistic. I loved the book was written in both POVs. Penn is a dream boat book boyfriend and Paige is so relatable as a woman. I loved that the mature romantic themes and thoughts (such as anal sex, sex toys and masturbation) were normalized as well as a part of the story. Loved the tension, chemistry and flirting between characters. The spice was beautifully written and well done! The author did a great job with this one; I read it in 3 days! Definitely recommend!

This is my first book by this author and I thought her attention to detail was very well written even from the beginning! This book is a fun witty RomCom that has a whole lotta spice! 🤪This book is a great weekend read and I did enjoy it quite a bit!
The writing style is good, it took me a little bit at the beginning to get focused and read it, but once I got about 30% in things picked up a bit more and it was a much smoother read for me. I always do enjoy a dual POV so I'm glad K. included both.
The plot has a very good concept. It is kind of like a friendship of convenience with benefits. I do feel like the plot could have a bit more to it. There were parts where I wanted to know more and then it skipped to a couple months in advance, which is why I rated it a bit lower. But where the plot could use more story, there is enough smut to make up for it! I really enjoyed the spice in this book, the sex bucket list is honestly a good idea.😏

I usually don’t read or like rom-coms BUT OMYGOD THIS BOOK WAS PERFECT.
I was literally giggling out loud, kicking my feet up, and screaming I kept waking up my sleeping cats. I sometimes have to stop reading because I couldn’t stop the damn butterflies in my stomach.
It was really funny and FUN to read. The humor was so seamlessly webbed into the development of the relationship between the main characters that there was no cringe at all! I am always worried about the cringe in rom-coms, but that wasn’t present here.
I also compiled all the nicknames the FMC, Paige, had given the MMC, Penn, because it was absolutely HILARIOUS:
“Sexy McHotpants”
“Delicious McMan”
“Mr. Sex-On-A-Stick”
“Delicious McMuscles”
“The Fabio-Wannabe-without-the-Long-Hair”

Woooow Penn is the ultimate book boyfriend golden retriever so eager to please and love. I’m so happy he was able to find his strength and stand up for himself and put himself out there.
Paige. Sweet, sweet Paige. I love her and her shy, awkwardness. I’m right there with her in the can’t recognize a good man cause of all the frogs you’ve kissed thing and also the “he’s so amazing why does he want me” thing. It was disheartening to see it in Paige only because I now how it really feels and poor Paige was too good to ever feel like that.
This book was basically one big, long sexy time story, but somehow it managed to also be a super sweet love story. Like so much spice with an actual plot. I didn’t think it was possible, but I’m also not complaining.
Penn for suuuuuuure falls first and harder. Idk why but those kinds of stories always strike me as sweeter than usual.

Woooow Penn is the ultimate book boyfriend golden retriever so eager to please and love. I’m so happy he was able to find his strength and stand up for himself and put himself out there.
Paige. Sweet, sweet Paige. I love her and her shy, awkwardness. I’m right there with her in the can’t recognize a good man cause of all the frogs you’ve kissed thing and also the “he’s so amazing why does he want me” thing. It was disheartening to see it in Paige only because I now how it really feels and poor Paige was too good to ever feel like that.
This book was basically one big, long sexy time story, but somehow it managed to also be a super sweet love story. Like so much spice with an actual plot. I didn’t think it was possible, but I’m also not complaining.
Penn for suuuuuuure falls first and harder. Idk why but those kinds of stories always strike me as sweeter than usual.

I am so glad to have read this book. It is such a cozy rom-com with LOTS of well written spice.
I love Penn and his cocky attitude and confidence and his swoon ability. He is literal perfect book boyfriend material that is an AUTHOR and BILLIONAIRE. Perfection.
Paige is so cute and awkward and despite her success as a writer still humble and shy. She is like so many of us in the bookish world and now she’s one of my favorite FMCs.
If you want to laugh, blush, and cry I highly recommend reading this book. I love it and need my own physical copy now.

This book was SO good I devoured it in one day! This book had me laughing, tearing up, and 🤭😮 it had just the right banter between FMC and MMC. I loved it! The female character was shy and timid at first but it didn’t take long to show her firecracker side. The MMC brought it that side of her, while also having a “private, shy” side of himself that she didn’t know about! Although you wouldn’t know with the way he growls things in her ear 😍
Over all, I recommend this book and will read it again! It is a perfect fast paced book, and a good comfort read if you are looking for something angsty and heartwarming but steamy and jaw dropping too. 🤭

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Pen is the billionaire CEO and Paige is the anxiety ridden author who needs some inspiration to finish her books.Thrown together at a writers retreat and Pen is all to willing to help her find the motivation, and get the "experience" needed to finish her book. The witty banter. The slow burn build up. The spice hits just right! And that ending had me a giddy mess! If you love a grumpy/sunshine trope with a twist. This is for you!

Super cute book! Love the story line of two authors hiding behind their Pen Names embarking on a spicy entanglement during a writing retreat. The support and confidence the MMC has for the tallents of the not so sure of herself FMC gives the book boyfriend energy we are all looking for.
The plot is thick at the beginning and end and gets a little lost in the soice in the middle, but the spice makes up for it and so does the ending!
Definitely recommend!

This book was amazing. I have such a book hangover
I absolutely loved the plot of this book, there was so much spice and banter, I couldn’t get enough of it.
I loved their excuse for the spice being “research”
I don’t want to say much more without giving away spoilers.
But definitely check this book out. I highly recommend this

Can I just say… wow. Chef’s kiss. I don’t know how it’s even possible to take a book boyfriend and add so many relatable things and shake it around into an endearing romance! The spice? Oh. Em. Gee. The plot? Perfection. But ultimately the ability to relate to Paige makes this book an over the top, solid 5 stars for me!

Oh my god….. This book! I had never read anything by this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I was BLOWN AWAY! The chemistry between Paige and Penn was explosive! The witty one liners and banter were a never ending source of entertainment! I would definitely give this a 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 for the electric spicy scenes! So great! I will definitely be reading more of her books on the future!

Have you ever read a book that makes you feel like you’re wrapped in a big hug? That’s this one! I instantly feel in love with both Paige and Penn! Their meet-cute was perfect, just like everything else about them! I even enjoyed the epilogue! if you know me, epilogues can ruin a book for me, but this one tied a pretty bow on the story and didn’t make me mad!

The story alone was just so good and not really anything I’ve read before which really pushed me to want to read it. Then I was picking my jaw up at how sexy the writing in this was. I think this was one of the best Smutty books I’ve read because the story really did make it a total knock out!

This would make a great vacation read - light hearted with lots of great banter and lots of steamy scenes!
Paige, the FMC, has a great personality and isn’t the wilting flower of most rom coms.
Penn, the MMC, is a worthy book boyfriend with golden retriever energy. Plus, he’s a billionaire, so what more could you want?

OMG!! My first 5 star book, not only of 2024 but EVER! And I think I have a new favorite book boyfriend 😍 Penn had me from the jump! I loved the sass and banter between Paige and Penn and how, from the start, Penn was supportive of Paige and cheering her on. I'm in love with this book!
