Hiding as a werewolf among humans, I never imagined the intoxicating Alpha would captivate me. I craved normalcy, but the supernatural world doesn't relinquish its grip so easily. As our hearts entangle, a chilling shadow descends. A series of unsolved murders casts a dark veil over the campus. Now I’m torn… Embrace the wolf within and the electrifying love Hunter offers. Or escape from the only one who has ever truly seen me. Amidst this whirl of passion and peril, my survival hangs in the balance. Will I even have the chance to choose?
Claiming My Alpha Wolf is a standalone romance with a happily ever after. No Cheating.
Rory has moved from the Emerald Isles, to Havenwood University in Asheville, in the States, having used the magic of a Druid Priestess to escape her life. She is a werewolf who wants to live as a human and experience life as a student, without her parent’s rigid rules and a former bad experience with an alpha to hang over her. She gets to her first class and is easily identified as being someone from elsewhere, as soon as she opens her mouth, but makes a friend with Caroline who warns her off a boy sitting in front of her. A latecomer to class catches everyone’s attention and is rather rude to her when she drops her pen and it ends up by his feet. She refuses to take his horrible attitude and chases after him when class ends. The young man is Hunter, the alpha of the Kindred Moon pack, and he attends college with his friends and pack members, Clara, Mark and Sam. Another young man called Kyle sees all of this and speaks to Rory, to tell her a bit about him, becoming a sort of friend to her. Hunter is a mysterious and quiet guy, who nobody seems to know much about. He keeps his life in the pack separate from his college life and has certain responsibilities to deal with as alpha. News of another murder in town leaves he and his friends shocked. He at first believes another pack alpha might be responsible and fights him, but even after he and his pack are banished, the murders continue and seem to be linked to the college.
Neither Rory nor Hunter can seem to keep themselves apart for long, feeling a strange pull and attraction to each other, which she fights against for some time. She ends up teamed with him for a class project and can’t avoid him, soon ending up in bed together. One of his friend’s figures out she is his fated mate, but he wants choice in his love, not an enforced mating. Going on a run with him as a wolf for the first time in ages, they find a body, the latest victim of this serial killer and Hunter notices something that could lead them to the killer’s identity. They go and explore a deserted farmhouse and find traces of someone using a room in it, but nothing else. She doesn’t want to be stuck in a relationship with him and has other males after her, which she wants to explore. One is Kyle, but he is more like a brother not that he knows that, and then there is Collin, who invites her to prom after she and Hunter have a break up. Her friend Caroline, who also became her roommate, ends up in hospital, leaving them wondering if she was possible a target of this killer. More killings occur and it seems they are now people Rory knows at college and who she is friendly with. Hunter persuades her to come and stay with his pack, but the latest murder is ever closer to Rory and brings a message from the killer, outing the werewolves and telling them they have to play his game! Another student kidnapped seemingly, brings another close connection to Rory and a message from the killer, putting them in his crosshairs. Rory is adamant they go to the meet, not wanting anyone else she knows to be killed if possible. She believes she and Hunter can stop them, but they are about to get a shock when they find out who the killer is! A good mix of unexpected fated mate’s connection with the darkness of a serial killer on campus, will certainly put Rory’s escape from her parents in Ireland into perspective! I received an ARC copy of this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Rory has come to the US from Ireland to study. She has left her controlling parents and pack as she wants nothing to do with her 'wolf' side, she is quite happy staying 'human'. However she encounters Hunter and finds that she is drawn to him and his scent even though he is a jerk. Hunter, however, has distanced himself from his other class mates because he also has a secret to hide, he is an Alpha wolf himself. He lives with his 3 friends who are members of his pack. Rory and Hunter get paired together for a project in their class. While doing this project their 'secret' comes to light when Rory is involved in an incident. Both try and ignore their growing attraction to each other, but it's too strong. The more they see of each other the more they attraction strengthens. The one thing that Hunter doesn't like is Rory's friendship with Kyle, he doesn't trust him and tries to warn Rory about him which causes a rift in their relationship. While this is playing out there is also a serial murderer picking off students.
Can Rory and Hunter relationship withstand outside influences, will their attraction to each other burn bright then fizzle out? Can Rory keep her 'wolf' locked in or will it demand to run free. Can friendships stay strong with so many incidents happening around campus or will they be lost?
Overall a good book with a HEA. The characters living and learning the good and bad in life. Friendships and relationships put to the test and only the strongest can survive.
Rory has left her family in Ireland to live a "normal" life in the states while attending college. She meets Hunter in one of her classes and they don't get off on the right foot. Then they are paired for a class assignment. Then Rory finds out that he is a werewolf like her and she's upset because that it is the reason why she left Ireland.
But she is drawn to Hunter and they start seeing each other. In the meantime there are murders happening around the campus. Rory and Hunter accidently stumble upon a dead body in the forest while out on a run. Hunter tells Rory that she needs to be careful hanging out with one of her friends because he had saw him following some girl and Rory gets mad and breaks up with Hunter. While broken up shes asked to go to the prom (there is a prom in college!) by another guy and she accepts. Hunter is going out of his mind and he doesn't know why, finds out that they are fated mates, (which in this story fated mates are a thing in the past) and Hunter doesn't tell her.
Rory's roommate ends up getting attacked and ends up in the hospital, then the guy that she was going to prom with ends up getting killed. In the end they find out who the killer is and why they were killing people. This book was a bit different from most werewolf/shifter stories but I liked it alot!!!.

Rory has left her parents and pack in Ireland to come to university in the US, wanting a normal life with humans rather than werewolves. On her first day she meets Hunter who isn't the easiest to get on with but when they're paired on a project they have to learn to work together. As they spend more time together though they realise they have more in common than they thought, when he shifts into a wolf to save her.
Rory's still cautious about mixing with other wolves though and finds it hard to decide on; though she starts to find it more difficult and more painful to be away from Hunter. Like Rory, Hunter's also struggling with his feelings, his inner wolf not happy about him staying away from her.
But their attraction for each other isn't the only thing they have to worry about. Students are being killed round the campus and Hunter knows he has to protect Rory, no matter what. Can the killer be stopped and can they find their HEA?
A lovely slow-build romance, with sizzling chemistry between the characters, drama, action, mystery, murder, great plot twists, friendship and love. This is another addictive read by Ruby Brinks which you won't want to put down till the end.

I received a free Advanced Reader Copy via Booksprout and am voluntarily reviewing it I really enjoy Ms. Brinks take on werewolves and fated mates. In her world, packs are more likely a group of friends that happen to all be werewolves. It’s just a different theme that makes her world unique.
Rory has done the unthinkable to get away from her family in Ireland. She has moved to the states and enrolled at Havenwood University. Rory is the new girl in town and garners a lot of attention. Rory’s attention is focused on one person, one man.
Hunter is the alpha of the Kindred Moon Pack. Each werewolf has a gift. Hunter’s gift is super strength. He, too, is fascinated with Rory. The fascination turns into attraction when these two are paired together on a class project. The chemistry is off the charts. When they are apart, the desolation is unbearable. Will they finally find the true reason they cannot stay away from each other?
There is something else going on at the University. Students are being killed. Hunter and Rory follow up on a lead after finding a body in the woods. Life gets in the way. Rory is fighting being a wolf. She walked away from that life. Hunter is everything Rory ran away from. Will she follow her heart or walk away from her fate?
Rory grew up in Ireland but is now at Havenwood University in North Carolina. To get away from her family she had to get help from the Druid Priestess. It's her first day in the college and it's been memorable. She is cautioned about a creep and then meets a young man who acts like an idiot. Meanwhile Hunter is on his way with some of his friends to have it out with another alpha whose pack may be causing issues with the humans. He wins the fight but now he needs to figure out what Rory is to him and why he feels so protective and possessive of her. Rory and Hunter are paired on a class project and they spend time together. Then to unclog their minds they go for a walk and she falls. Hunter shifts to save her. Rory is super angry because she left Ireland to get away from shifters because she is one. But she wants to be human. How will they handle this? Will Rory come to her senses and accept her other half? And what about the murders happening in the town? Fantastic story that reminds me of a fairy tale.

I'm going to be completely honest and say that this is the first time in a long time that I've reviewed a book and rated it less than 3 stars. Since starting this book, I have felt off balance, like I'm walking around in odd shoes at different heights. I've put off reading this book over the last few days because it just wasn't holding my attention. I've struggled with this book, but have done my best to read it through all the way, despite the very strong urges I've had to DNF it. Without revealing any spoilers, I have found several flaws in the book, several inconsistencies. The lack of character development and the large plotholes have left me less than satisfied with this book. It is probably something someone out there would read, however this book is not for me. There are many misused words and spelling errors that should have been picked up during the editing/proof reading stage, and these were not. Overall, I am rather disappointed in this book as it has potential to be a great read, however it's just not there yet. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Rory is an international college student from Ireland who came to the USA to start a new life, to be normal. After dealing with her parents' constant nagging of "how she should be as a shifter," she was tired of it and needed to leave. From her first day of classes, she became entranced with the well-known townie, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop herself from falling for him.
Hunter is a well-known townie, who is also the alpha of the Kindred Moon pack. Just like Rory, he was captivated by her at their first meeting. He was pulled to her the moment he stepped into the room. As a way to blow off steam from his constant tension and anger, he'd pick fights with other packs.
As murders happen all over town, mostly college students, with little to no struggle from the victims. The fear and worry are a constant struggle for everyone. Will the murderer ever be caught? Will Rory and Hunter give in to their emotions?
I fairly enjoyed this book. The plot twists keep you on your toes. One moment you think you know the answer to all their questions, the next you start to question it.
'Claiming My Alpha Wolf' is a story set in a university in Asheville, NC. Rory moved from a remote area in Ireland and wanted to leave her protective family and get an education away from them for a new perspective. She meets several students, the first being Hunter who is a werewolf and fellow student. They are attracted to one another and Rory struggles with the intensity of her feelings.
While Rory is navigating her feelings for Hunter, something sinister is happening on campus. Students are being murdered and every victim's face looks peaceful, as if no trauma occurred. Hunter and his pack are trying to find the murderer. There are some twists and turns in their search for the killer and in the relationship between Hunter and Rory that are unexpected.
Ruby Brinks crafted an interesting story of love, insane jealousy, and fated mates.

Rory had a witch help her with her parents so she could go overseas to Havenwood University at first she didn’t like Hunter’s attitude, she wanted to live as a human. They drew each other’s names for a project so she was having problems with him helping with it he was having problems with a pack. People were getting killed then a guy she thought was her friend staged a kidnapping to get her to where he wanted her and Hunter because they were fated mates kill two at once. Rory didn’t pick him to be with, he let it out that he could but people to sleep then killing was easy. Rory amplified Hunter’s power and he took care of the problem her parents accepted what she had done finally and Hunter being her mate. Good book!.

This is the first book I have read from this author. I enjoyed the book. The writing was an easy flow and quick read.
A bit of intrigue added in with the murders that are suddenly happening. Not much depth added to the murder plot until close the very end of the book.
I think that it's a good story line and Interesting book however it could use some work as alot of the info was very vague.
In the beginning Hunter is very Brody and aloof however at the first opportunity that Rory and Hunter spend time together he is already telling some deep secrets just out of the blue. Rorys background is not every fully revealed either. Just alot of vague references about her wanting a normal life. But not much in explaining why, no traumatic event or anything. She never reveals anything about herself on the same level as what Hunter did.

My first impression of Hunter was that he was kind of a jerk, I didn’t really like him much at all. Then as the story progressed I saw his relationship with his pack, as well as his developing relationship with Rory then I started to think ok he’s not such a bad guy just a little misunderstood. Through all this there’s a killer on the loose around the college. I had my suspicions about who the killer was. There were a couple moments in this book where I just wanted to cry, yell why did that have to happen, but also some really happy moments as well. There’s plenty of hot moments between these fated mates.

Marvelous story of Rory and Hunter the love and the connection they shared was beautiful. It was addicted and it was a page turner and the suspense was OMG. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even imagine of put it down. There were many twists and turns and it had passion romance. What secrets were they hiding from each other or how long until they find out the truth of this secrets within a mystery of lies. Great paranormal romance ever!!! I highly recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance reader copy of this book via Storyorigin and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. What a story, Rory and Hunter came together even before they new they were destined to be together. Thier whirlwind "normal" issues gives us everything we need to continue on this journey. Hunter is the sweetest and so caring his character is one you can't help but fall in love with, I loved that he was never forceful and everything about him was amazing. Rory had to go through a phase of finding out who she really was and in the end that was the most powerful thing she could ever do for herself. Both of them grew while going through so much but in the end they withstood it all. Love is always amazing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked the tense it was written in, as silly as that sounds. I also liked that it was dated mates, but not exactly insta lust. The plot was well thought out and I enjoyed the different interactions between the characters.
I do wish that there was more back story on both of the main characters. I would have liked to know what happened to them more fully for them to have gotten where they are.
I also was distracted a few times by some grammatical errors and typos.
Otherwise, this was a fun read and one I read in a day because I didn't want to put it down.

Little did she know that fate had plans for her that she could not escape. From the moment her eyes met Hunter's, she knew she wanted to get to know him. Through many twists, turns and trying to find a serial killer. Thier bond pulls them closer and closer. Will they find the killer in time? Will Hunter be able to save Rory. Come and enjoy the magical journey and get the answers to these questions. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Hunter and Rory’s love story was not simple, from their first meeting sparks flew!
Then they were forced to work together on a project sealing the attraction they both could not deny but when forces outside their control intruded and suddenly murders were happening around them would they ever find their HEA?
An engrossing addictive read full of action, suspense, secrets, friendships, love with steamy moments and a storyline which will keep you involved until the end.

Rory is an international college student. She has found a magical way to fool her parents to attend college away from her home. She is out of her element in a large college. She is alone. No friends. When she finally finds her first class she also gets her first friend. She also meets another , but not a friend. Hunter.
This is the story of a young girl growing into a woman, learning to accept what she is while dealing with murders on the campus.
I recommend this story with an unexpected ending.

There is so much to like about this book. The main characters have chemistry and a bit of a different relationship. While we read and watch Rory and Hunter's relationship evolve and change they are also dealing with murders on campus that seem to revolve around Rory. There is a lot of things going on and the author keeps you on edge wondering what next? This was well written and kept my mind on engaged. Both very important aspects of reading a paranormal romance book. This was a bit different which is another reason I enjoyed it.
Rory and Hunter are both hiding secrets. In the midst of unraveling these mysteries, they find each other. I thoroughly enjoyed their transitions, along with the twists, turns, sizzle, and HEA! I would love to see more about these two characters! Great paranormal romance! Another excellent book by Ruby Brinks.

This is a very easy read, I quickly got absorbed in the story. I loved Rory from the start but thought initially that Hunter was a big head and not good enough for Rory. He took a little longer to get a handle on but once I saw how he interacted with his pack he started to grow on me. There was enough going on that kept me hooked and I loved the HEA. All in all a reccomended book that I think anyone who likes the genre would enjoy.
A murder mystery has come to campus and just when Rory thought she left her previous life behind she is thrust right into it. Her project partner Hunter not only will help her find out what is going on but their attraction to each other will ignite more complications that make this read exciting and interesting to read.

A mystery of Roy and Hunter; both wolves although Rory is fighting the status. They are trying to solve a mystery. The plot is well developed and keeps you reading until you find you at the end. Brinks does an awesome job as a Paranormal author. She's turned into one of my favorites. I highly would recommend this book to others.

Ruby continues her unique take on the werewolf world. Making it hers, and sharing it with all of us! It took under 24 hours for me to read this book, only putting it down to "mom". Ruby has a unique way of transporting me into her stories. I become one with the story. She is an amazing author and you will not be disappointed when reading her stories!
The spice in this one... whoooo wheeeee.

I was happy to be given an opportunity and I am voluntary leaving this review for Claiming My Alpha Wolf. Rory has left Ireland including her family and pack and everything she has known and moved to the U.S. in order to attend college and live a "normal" life. While there, she meets Hunter who has a secret of his own, he is a werewolf as well. Romance, a murder mystery, college, what else could one want? The new take on werewolf and fated mates kept me hooked and I could not stop reading.
It started a little slow but quickly picked up speed. The characters are well-defined and it seems like you know them. The plot flows easily and places you right there with the characters. This is definitely a must-read book. I will definitely read this book again.

This is a steamy mystery with twist and turns. Can be read in one setting. This felt a bit immature to me with their actions in some of the circumstances. There were still some unanswered questions that I felt were not cleared but a lot of the main ones were resolved. I still enjoyed this book.
