Alex is back!
Alex is in Northern California, Napa Valley wine country, visiting her old friend who is getting married and wants Alex’s help with cake tasting and finding the right venue. Alex falls in love with the wide open spaces, the clean air and the quiet. But mostly she becomes obsessed with the castle where her friend chooses to get married.
While they are at a cake tasting she hears a loud scream, but the castle’s owners tell her the sound is a feature of the halls and towers, caused by the wind. Alex is as we know, sure of herself and obsessed with things that intrigue her and seem to hold secrets. She is opinionated and direct, sometimes annoying people in her quest to uncover the truth. She has quite a challenge, with so many secrets to uncover, and we get to see this new chapter in the Alexandra Mallory saga. I just loved this story. But the ending…can’t wait to read the next one.

Obsessive main character
Good story line. These stories always seems to have a really overwhelming obsessive main character. That's my only unlikable thing about these stories. You can tell who the author is due to that fact.
Otherwise it would be a ten star.

Cathryn never missed!
The plot, the mystery, the relationships - I'm living for her books. Alex Mallory is smart, beautiful and cunning. She's like an avenger trying to right wrongs and I love her!
