Verity, Mamrie, and Farrah are a trio of powerful witches who have dedicated their lives to ridding the world of monsters. Their Victorian Gothic house is home to a collection of creatures that are kept locked away from prying eyes. The girl’s lead a complicated life, and it’s about to get even more entangled.
Two attractive guys are now living next door. Farrah’s powers are becoming uncontrollable, and she doesn’t know how to stop them and Verity’s keeping secrets about the trip she went on to the Amazon.
Unbeknownst to Farrah and Mamrie, the day Verity returns home, she receives a vision showing that most of the tribe she stayed with in the Amazon are now dead. She’s not sure it’s real. Until Ebony shows up. The leader of the tribe, Ebony’s hellbent on revenge and accuses Verity of stealing a powerful artifact.
Verity embarked on the journey with the specific goal of obtaining the artifact but claims to have left without it. Even if she had taken it, how would it have killed Ebony’s people as Ebony seems to imply? The more Verity tries to unravel the mystery, the more questions she has. Until it all comes to a head Halloween night.

3.5 ⭐️, rounding up because it probably deserves it.
Hear me out, if I was a Charmed girly I probably would have rated higher. It’s not the books fault that I’m… not into Charmed, have never been able to finish a single episode. Don’t come for me.
The plot was good, and the direction it appears to be going in for the sequel sounds even MORE interesting to me (I won’t go into spoilers but vampires? New Orleans? Yes, please.)
Also the mansion was fun, if we learned even more about the house and it’s backstory in later books, would love that.

I absolutely loved this book. Bonus that the author is super sweet! But honestly I loved the book. The story and the characters were on point and amazing. I wanna read more, I need more. If you love witches and the supernatural, this book is for you. You will absolutely love all 3 main characters, Verity, Farrah, & Mamrie. And all the smaller characters. You just fall in love. The storyline was great and kept you sucked in. You definitely need to give this book a read, you won't regret it.

This book was action packed and had a lot of mystery to keep me interested! It had all my faves too: fantasy elements, mystery, a dab of romance, and a twist! My only critiques were that it was hard for me to relate to the family dysfunction of the main characters, but that might be a me thing. I’m hoping for more character development and depth in the next one (which I’m hoping there will be).

I had to take a few days to process this book after reading it. It’s a great book! Right up my alley steeped in magic and supernatural story lines! I loved that there were multiple stories and mysteries intertwined. There are ghosts!!! And I was HIGHLY amused by them. The scene with hovering car outside will live rent free in my mind until the end of time 😂

Extremely enjoyable and entertaining. It read like Charmed meets Lara Croft at Disney's Haunted Mansion. This book takes you from the Oegon Coast to the Amazon Jungle and ends in a crazy, action-packed Halloween party that would rival any party you could dream or imagine. Loved it!!

Great storytelling. Lots of mystery and fun that culminates in a very crazy ending. Several interesting characters, the book is fun, magical, and very frightfully descriptive.
