What’s a girl to do when her hot hookup turns out to be her ticket to the top?My first A-list party was so exciting and that was before I laid eyes on James. The connection was instant and electric—and our “after-party” was the hottest night I’ve ever had.But when my brother is just about to bankroll La-La Land’s biggest new film and wants me to work with Tinseltown’s hottest director, Oliver Blackwood, it’s easy to get distracted.Guess what? Oliver turns out to be my hot hookup “James” and that's when my Hollywood dream becomes a nightmare.Okay, he’s still hot but his ego is playing third-wheel. Plus, he’s carrying more baggage than his Key Grip.Oliver is committed to one thing—work, and although, my career is everything, one day I want more.Hollywood has taught me one don’t fall for your hookup. But why can’t I get Oliver out of my mind? And, if I’m honest, out of my heart?Don't Fall For Your Hookup is a spicy story that has more drama than The Oscars. It's book 2 in the Don't Fall series but can be read as a standalone.
This was an okay book. I didn't really get pulled into the story of the main couple feeling this intense love connection from their one night stand. It came across as a teeny bit unbelievable. Sort of meh. Charlotte was a spoiled socialite imo from New York, twin to Nathan, who are both eagerly awaiting to invest in a big movie called Star Bright with director Oliver Blackwood. Charlotte for me, got annoying. And she didn't change much. I did wonder how old these characters were. At the end it was revealed our main couple are celebrating their 30th birthday(s) together, so they're both 27 at the time of their love affair. Maybe if they were a little bit older?🤷🏼
The secret drama, keeping their relationship casual, no strings attached, on and off their film set, didn't carry the story forward. It stayed in that bubble for quite awhile. It got boring. Now the mystery of who leaked their relationship with pictures made the story interesting. But it was brief. And yes, you will figure out who did it. I liked Sophia and Marcus. They were fun to read. Nathan and Ava being that upset with Charlotte over her secret relationship with Oliver was a little over the top. Chill out people. Even though this book wasn't quite for me, maybe it will be for someone else. I would still recommend. Overall 3.5 stars.🍿🍿🍿
🎬Thank you for an early book via Booksprout. This is my honest critique of the story I read.🎬.
Charlotte goes to a nightclub with her investor brother who is hoping to catch up with a film director to discuss an investment. While there she meets James and they spend the night together. Charlotte becomes her brother's liason on the film set and she discovers that James is actually Oliver, the film director. The man she hadn't been able to stop thinking about is someone she shouldn't be hooking up with!

Entertaining story line, was enjoyable and interesting enough to keep me reading. Sometimes I like this kind of book that is a bit unbelievable but entertaining. Secret romance in Hollywood from one night stand to happy life.

**ARC** I loved this book. I loved how the characters had their own thing going on and it was especially interesting to have the man have the issues regarding the future rather than the female. This book was so refreshing and definitely had me in a chokehold.
Super cute. It’s in the same world as Ava’s other book “Don’t fall for your fake fiancé” so it’s nice to meet up with those characters again & get a little bit of their lives again. The story is a good pace & the characters are fun (you get the third act breakup which to me wasn't as strong a reason) but it's understandable due to the circumstances. but a quick sweet read & always a HEA with Ava's books which i really like. She wraps up everything so sweetly.
