Marcus Colten is living the perfect life, high school football star and dating the head cheerleader. He is popular, skilled in athletics and from a wealthy family. The football team he quarterbacks for just won their first district championship.
Marc doesn't show it, but he is being haunted. Orphaned at the early age of two, he has ghostly memories of a past that makes his flawless model life feel out of place. And then there are the illusive dreams. Visions of someone that relentlessly possess his nights. What does it all mean? Where will it all lead? This time, he’s not the one that is at the top of the game.
This is the fifth and final installment in the Crescent Bound series. My intention wasn't to fully duplicate Crescent Bound, but to truly bring you Marc’s story. Hopefully, you've already read Crescent Bound. And yes, there will be magick, the elements, and entirely new scenes... I hope you enjoy.
Karli Rush was born in the heart of Cherokee Nation and lives in its capital. Her Native American heritage holds sway over her writing in many ways. She has the patience of a brain surgeon operating under fire in a war zone. You can chalk that up to her being the mother of an autistic kiddo. With the passion of a starving artist, she writes. The obsession to tell her tales have led her to write novels in the worlds of Dark Paranormal Romance, Dystopian, and Vampires. She walks in two worlds, one grounds her and the other frees her imagination.
Just like all of the Crescent Bound books... I COULD NOT put it down!
"Ice Bound" is Marc's story... from HIS beginning. I will desperately try to review without spoiling this book for others. (Was given an ARC for a review... honestly I would have bought the book anyway and ALWAYS leave HONEST reviews).
Karli Rush tells a story like few others. You feel as though you could move to where the characters live and become (well hopefully become) friends with Alyssa, Marc, Megan, Lisa, Dawson, etc... Every character is well thought out and VERY believable. "Ice Bound" was no different. I loved learning how Marcus (Marc) dealt with not only the Kelli break up, but also the bond with his friends (Monti, Webbie, etc). They were there for him.... My heart even re-broke with the Derek situation... Reading how Marc learns about the Coven and Witchcraft from his perspective was insightful, He embraced it and dives head first... From being the studly, all American High School Quarterback and king of the school to his REAL destiny was great. I fell in love with him in "Crescent Bound" and the entire Worthington Coven, but even more so now. Karli makes you feel as though you are a fly on the wall watching everything happen. She paints a story that you can picture in your mind... I literally dreamed about it after reading for a few hours. Even felt bummed when it was ONLY a dream, "Ice Bound" (if not for the epilogue) could be read after "Crescent Bound" as it seamlessly flows with that book's timeline. Like I said it's Marc's perspective. Karli writes with descriptions that are easily believable, from the spells to the histories of the different Gods (Deities), the Coven's beliefs and each character's element. She does her homework on the mythology and even to that last detail on what uses the different herbs and plants have. But, she does not overly describe to a point where the story looses interest, you will be completely enthralled and not want to put it down. I HIGHLY recommend the ENTIRE "Crescent Bound" series. It is by far one of my favorites and I truly hope that she does continue this series... as I will miss some of my favorite people that are in these books.
I have been waiting for this. To finally have the chance to get inside Marc Dela Dante's mind, and it was glorious!
Ice Bound brings readers back to the beginning, except where as Crescent Bound was from Alyssa's perspective, this novel is from Mark's perspective. And you know what that means... New scenes, more knowledge and insight about his past and finally getting his inner thoughts on the things I was very curious about in Crescent Bound. Yes!!
Just like the rest of the Crescent Bound series, this book is full of magic, hidden wonder and passionate romance. But it also tells the journey of a young man, who wasn't so sure of his path in life, (big fat thanks to his very unsupportive parents), but finally discovering where he was meant to be along. And finding his true happiness. Oh and the epilogue that is set in the future that Karli added to Mark and Alyssa's story was icing on the cake for me. I loved it!
I was given this as an ARC and I was not disappointed at all. Karli Rush delivered the fifth and final book in the Crescent Bound series to her best, and then some. This is not just glorified telling of a high school jocks POV. This IS Marcs story of how he come to be. True to the other Bound stories, this one leaves nothing out...it has action, emotions that put you right with the characters, and sex! The Bound series may be over, but Karli's writing is not, so look for her other books and more to come!
Marcus is a young man, haunted by his past, his dreams. He must navigate an unknown world to get to were he must be. Alyssa is the girl of his dreams literally. With her they will go through much more than either had ever thought possible.
This is the 5th book in the series. I highly suggest reading it as the 2nd book in this series as it is Marcus's POV of Crescent Bound. Karli has a way of bring her charters to life and making so real you just want to jump in the storyline.
I was given this book for an Honest Review.
I Highly Suggest this Series for all Paranormal Fans. The First book is Free and a great way to check out Karli Rush!
I loved the series and was so looking forward to what happens after Marc sees into the past. Ice Bound was a great read but I truly hope that's not the ending of Marc and Alyssa story.
