An excellent go-to cookbook. It's a book that I often consult when I'm thinking "I would like to make x". Because in most cases there is a recipe for that thing I wanted to make. I've found the desserts section especially helpful--particularly for making pudding and cake frosting. It's also the book that taught me how to make matzoh brie.

It's not a flashy book--there are no pictures. But it is comprehensive.
