With the second book, we are opened up to many more twist and turns this time. (True Courtney fashion :) ) What Charis and Porter have between them is rocky and with so much else going on for Charis, it doesn't seem like anything will go well for them. Charis is holding back and hiding things and Porter just wants her. Can they make things work and what else will we find out that could change things? I can't wait to read the next book!

This is the second book in this series and there are alot more changes, twists and turns in this read.
We broach the subjects of racism and judgements in this book and I feel like Courtney has done well in this subjects.
I found this to be another good read and well written, you feel like your part of the characters live and so far it's a series I recommend reading.

In Shock by Courtney Lane we once again Charis and Porter as they fight to keep there struggling relationship together. I honestly struggled to get through this book. The characters waxed poetically, Charis became even more annoying and bitchy, and I just wanted Porter to step up and tell Charis to be in love with him or leave. I feel as if this book is more about how much 'racism' and 'judgment' Charis and her group feel, when they are the most judgemental group of people ever. They simply won't accept Porter cause he's white... well... racism runs both ways. I don't know. Porter is so sincere and in love and all Charis does is ramble on about stuff that doesn't matter. The drama created in this book just made me roll my eyes. If Charis would just be honest with Porter everything would be fine. The only saving grace for this book is Porter and his story.

How do I review this book?!
Just know I suffered what I think were near anxiety attacks. This book holds me in such a stranglehold! I’m just swimming in confusion and despair sometimes but there is still hope. Chapter 25 may have shortened my life by 5 years. And the last chapters! And then just midway through the book... basically this whole book is a roller coaster. Both Porter and Charis fight each other and for each other to claim their happiness. They take a new meaning of “us against the world”! I can’t get enough.
By halfway through this book, I bought the paperback versions of all three books. I already own the kindle versions so I just know I want to symbolically immortalize how much I’m loving the tumult of this story. Courtney Lane, you have me!
